Volume changes after OneUI 8.5 update.

Volume changes after OneUI 8.5 update.

I've noticed tonight when using my Bluetooth headset that the volume is exactly the same between these two points. I usually fall asleep with my headphones on at the lowest volume but now it's too loud for me to do so 😂 hopefully this will be fixed in a future update...

What's the difference? Both are super fast charging 2.0

If I plug in my phone with the same charger, sometimes the battery displays a green charging indicator, sometimes a blue one. The sound is also different. What's the difference? Both are super fast charging 2.0

S24 Ultra Battery Status

I feel it is time to change my battery. I bought the device on launch in Jan 2024.

I am getting very low SOT, maybe since everything is set to max.

Samsung service center is quoting 3200 to 3400 rupees.

What do you guys think about the SOT?

OneUI 8.5 closes deep sleeping apps WHILE you're in them?

I noticed that if I open an app that is slated for deep sleep, I have like a minute before it just closes and vanishes from recent apps. I suspect that the OS is closing them even though they're actively being used because this stops if I remove the app from deep sleep. Anyone else noticed the same? Is there a fix?

Battery Life became amazing

If you're still skeptical of updating to 8.5, just do it, I used to only be able to reach 2 hours SOT, charging from 20 to 80, (on battery saving mode too) And had to charge at university just to make sure my phone lasts a whole day.

This is also with bluetooth running in the background because this week i have to monitor my heartbeat with a huawei smartwatch.

Anyone else facing better battery life after the One UI 8.5 update?

Hey peeps, I'm not a person that usually posts about the battery life and all, but after the 8.5 update I'm noticing a better battery life, ik its too early to compare, but when compared to the 8.0 update, especially after the april patch update, battery was shit, whereas some ppl have gotten worse battery life even after the 8.5 update, anyone else has gotten better battery life or has it gone down? Thanks.

Should I make the jump?

Hey everyone long time samsung fan boy.

Right now I have the s22 ultra and I am thinking of jumping to the s24 ultra(because of Bluetooth s-pen). I am wondering if its worth it to go from 22 to 24? I think the best price is have found was $400 used and unlocked.

So should I do it? Or do you know where I can get a better price

One UI 8.5 not available

Just wondering if anyone knows why my S24 Ultra is showing that my phone is up-to-date even though it still has One UI 8.0? Checked for update twice, once normally, once after restarting

S24 Series Issues After One UI 8.5 (Important)

Okay, so before you say "let it settle," it's been 3 days, the phone's settled, all the data gathering is done, battery's stable, everything's set. Now let's talk issues. Let me know if you guys have the same problems listed below or if you found any fixes.

The quick panel lag is so much worse now, it's crazy! Before, with One UI 8, it was manageable if you just turned off the RAM Plus feature, but now it's terrible. The quick panel lags when you swipe left for notifications, I mean, the whole quick panel UI is totally messed up. It feels like i'm using a 2-300$ phone.

The UI isn't consistent across apps; some are polished, others aren't. For example, the clock app has a weird background, and the caller app's grey background isn't AMOLED, so it looks messy. I turned off the "now brief" feature because it's useless, but Samsung keeps forcing me to turn it back on by giving me a "now bar" that asks me to enable it. I really don't want it, so just stop it already! Also the battery pill wtf is that man greyish shyt thing i mean it was better before why u change it.

So, the next big thing is connectivity, my Wi-Fi is good, but what's up with the cellular data? It's really bad, Samsung needs to fix it ASAP. Some apps work fine, others buffer, it's so inconsistent. I'm on LTE, not 5G, I don't need 5G, it drains the battery like crazy.

The battery's good, like with the April patch, and it works fine on Wi-Fi. But with cellular, it feels like it drains more than before. On Wi-Fi, I get around 7-8 hours of screen-on time, and with cellular, it's more than 5 hours with normal use.

The system UI and One UI home optimization is a big problem; I used to get 8-9 hours of SOT, but now it's less, so it needs fix too. I mean dude these 2 are draining more power than the AOD like what why?

Sometimes the animations feel a bit stuttery, not the quick panel, that's a whole different story. I'm talking about the regular back and closing animations, even call animations, they just seem to be missing something, like the search button on the app drawer, there's no animation there at all.

Scrolling feels laggy now, Play Store scroll feels laggy, X scroll feels laggy, Spotify scroll lag, Reddit and Insta are good. X has a fix, turn off auto video playback in settings. All apps in settings feel laggy, like the refresh rate changed from 120 to 60Hz.

I have a fix for the animations though: switch off the phone after the update, then turn it on after a minute. The animations get pretty good, I'd say, but still need some polishing.

Ram management had gotten a bit better after the switch off thing.

No heating issue right now, it just suddenly getting hot after the update without doing anything major, probably because of all the data gathering. Gaming heat management also better now, it doesn't get as hot as it used to, which is an improvement.

All the AI stuff and new features are cool, but Samsung totally ripped us off by not putting the scan feature right in the camera app. It was so handy and needed, why'd you do that, Samsung? I mean, the lag isn't even fixed, so why bother taking out the scan feature from the camera app in the name of hardware boundaries? It was there in the beta versions. There's a workaround for that feature from the notes app but it includes a lot of steps.

The May security patch update is pending. I hope we'll get fixes for the cellular connectivity issue and animation fixes. Maybe the quick panel lag will get fixed somewhat, at least like before. I'm not saying to fix it properly before One UI 9.

Those are all the issues I've faced and some of the fixes. Let me know if there are more issues I haven't noticed yet and if you have any fixes for those.

Battery Performance Improvements after 8.5 OneUI update

I am not sure how other are feeling after 8.5 update on thier S24 ULTRA... But for my phone it's new life ..

Yes I used to get 6 hour SOT the day i updated with ONE UI 8 in 2025.

I had accepted that may be battery performance is degraded of my phone. But I can visibly see now better improvement on my bettery perfomance after updating 8.5 ONE UI.

I am satisfied with it...also i didn't find any Buggy or hanging stuff on my phone....

Overall getting good improvement, Now you can see I'm getting almost 4.5 hour SOT on 50% drain....

Opinion

Clockface in goodlock is so dogshit. Especially the preset designs, it looks so awful and no good fonts or something to edit the transperency of the clock. Feels absoluetely awful because you cant either import a font style of your own liking. I thought they'd add liquid glass as an option but nope.

Now one thing i dont understand is why we cant edit our clocks when in roaming. Now dont get me wrong, one ui 8.5 has its own merits and demerits but im pissed because of lossed potential, they had more things to fix but instead, created new shit instead of improving those which is doggy doo doo. Sure customization but not being able to have better options for clocks is literally a big flaw.

Airdrop option isn't available!

Why is the AirDrop option not available on my S24 Ultra after the One UI 8.5 update?

UI 8.5 quick panel buttons

I'm not sure how, but somehow I happen to get many icons at my quick panel. Not sure how to reduce to 4 like the defaults. Tried removing the icons, still same. Tried to reset, same. Anyone knows how to get to the default one?

Just bought a S24U what settings and things should I do to it?

I bought my s24U a few days ago and it has arrived ive transferred everything over and I'm looking to customise it or change some settings. Specifically the camera as I do want to take more photos etc.

I do have a case which it came with but it is rubbery and it makes it hard to access the S pen so I was thinking of buying another one? Are magsafe cases good? I was thinking of buying one then some sort of wallet magsafe attachment.

I'm coming from an S21Fe and I'm currently enjoying the s24U
