Most top positions are still occupied by upper castes, particularly Brahmins . Even when SC students score equal to or higher marks than others, they are often rejected in interviews, while lower-scoring general category students get selected.

On top of that, fake EWS and SC certificates are extremely common—my own neighbor(aadarsh tiwari) got a fake EWS certificate. If you check the merit list of almost any competitive exam, you will find traditional upper-caste surnames like Sharma or Tiwari listed under the SC category. Everyone knows these are upper-caste surnames, yet people like Poorva Choudhary still become UPSC qualifiers. There are thousands of people abusing fake SC, ST, and OBC certificates.

Furthermore, there is very low representation of lower castes compared to upper castes. From KG to 12th grade, there were always only a few SC students in my class. The data reflects this as well—it is mostly upper-caste students who get access to quality education, such as in private colleges, because lower castes are economically disadvantaged.

Most landholders in India belong to upper castes. Even though upper castes like Brahmins make up a very small percentage of the population, they hold a vast majority of the land. This is why there is such a massive income inequality gap in India, where roughly 80% of the population is poor and the remaining 20% holds the wealth. Most of the wealthy are upper-caste because business requires capital to invest, a privilege they hold.

Meanwhile, the majority of manual laborers are Dalits, and absolute systemic discrimination persists. A poor Dalit often cannot break out of this cycle, no matter how hard they try, because the system itself is designed to keep them down.

My friend might get mech in 2nd round so if he get it and take admission in sgsits then if in upgrade he get better branch in davv then wat to do?

My crl rank - 57976 Gen I can get smart manufacturing branch at IIIT jabalpur in CSAB counselling so is it worth it ?? Should I consider it as option ? Currently I'm admitted to SGSITS in information technology branch so what's your opinion??

My rank is too high, so I'm not getting SGSITS or DAVV in the regular rounds. I'm waiting for the CLC rounds, but they will most likely offer only lower branches, which I'm not interested in.

I wanted to ask if I have a chance of getting UIT RGPV CSE or any CSE specialization. These are the only branches I'm interested in there. If anyone has any idea about the cutoff of r2 , please let me know.
