Im not sure if its been asked before but as a Canadian im fascinated by the SKS but often wondering why Americans with the options of AR15s would choose a SKS, especially with this being the golden age of AR15s and them being so affordable and available. Feel free to leave your opinion or criticize me if this has been asked and answered before and I just missed or forgot. (Not my photo)

Chinese SKS

3D printed chassis of my own design - I wanted a more "tactical" rifle (It's 2026, not 1956. Leave the wood stocks in the past where they belong). It still needs some tweaks, hence the grippy tape holding it together.

I plan on getting it CNC'd from aluminum in the future when my financial situation improves.

First shot of the day my sks did this. Anyone know what caused this and how I can fix this? Is this a gunsmith problem? I should add its stuck, I tried popping it out both with a ram rod and prying it out and its stuck pretty good
