Started collecting mechanical watches in 2019 and this is the current collection...

(also not shown is a black gshock 2100b)

I wear the entire collection over the course of a month. I also swap out bracelets / straps on the zulu time, the seitona, the brew, the mojito cocktail, and the khaki scuba to keep things interesting.

Current favorite (and most recent acquisition) is the Pelagos 39 because it's so comfortable and seems to go with everything.

And I've now realized I prefer no-dates and smaller lug-to-lug sizes for my 6.75" wrist. I love everything in the top row but I'm open to swapping out the bottom row

What should I sell and what would be a good addition to the collection?

Need a third

The IWC is a rep and gets zero wrist time so I'm not counting it. I bought it during a year I had 5 weddings and was curious about reps.

I had considered an SBGW301 but I don't think I have enough formal occasions in my life and I'm concerned I'd spend thousands of dollars on a watch just to have it sit in a box.

I've been looking at the Cartier Santos Medium and feel like I can sub that in on leather when I need something more formal.

Right now, the Tudor and the Omega get relatively equal wrist time.

Reduced my collection down to 5. Open to suggestions on 6th

Possibly another Omega? Sold an SMP, kinda miss it. But 3 divers seems like over kill. Maybe an AT? Or something totally different? I have no need of a dress watch, I’m pseudo retired but pick up contracts once in a while. Cartier? Breitling? JLC?

Started 8 months ago after never owning a single watch

All started with the Speedmaster, which was a gift from my family for graduating from grad school. That opened the floodgates for better or for worse 😅 added the rest through my own research and the Murph because Interstellar is my favorite movie.

What should I get next? Tudor Black Bay 58 is on the top of my list right now, won’t be adding until next year so I don’t go too crazy this year lol

Rate my watch collection.

I just got into watches starting around August of 2025. I wanted to see how the watch community would react to my collection and their opinions on it (good & bad). I started fast and seems like I can’t stop! 😅 Damn I’m loving this hobby! All commentary is welcomed even the rough stuff!

[SOTC] My Humble & Beloved Collection! (and a bit of its history)

Hello beautiful community,

Wanted to share my humble and beloved collection with you all. Every watch represents something to me, and I’m not an impulsive buyer. I put a lot of thought and time before pulling the trigger.

I’ll give you a summary, in chronological order:

  1. Timex Weekender Chronograph (2017): My dear blue watch that has been with me daily back then, in many adventures, as my only watch, before watches became an obsession.

  2. Victorinox INOX (2018): Another quartz tank, built to last (went through 120 tests of resistance as a tribute to 120 years of the brand). This holds a special place in my heart since it was a birthday gift from my parents. Heavily worn for years.

  3. Seiko 5 SNK803K2 (2019): My very first Automatic watch. Gave me a different perspective on watches since it’s a) purpose built (field), b) mechanic, and c) only 37mm. I love it more and more as time goes by.

  4. Laco Augsburg 42 (2022): At this point I still have limited budget but a deep interest in the horological world. I found this pilot watch from a brand that has more history than it’s credited for. It’s a fantastic daily beater, easy to set, easy to read, no non-sense. I still love to wear it.

  5. Omega Seamaster SMP300 (2022): Here things got really serious. I just moved to Europe, over-performed at my job, and became 30 years old. At the end of the year, on my way back home (Brazil), I stopped at Gassan (Schipol airport), aiming to get a BlackBay 58. But I tried this on and I was just drawn to it, hypnotised… so I had to pull the trigger. It was my most expensive purchase ever, my legs were shaking. I remember having a beer and 3 glasses of Makers Mark after to calm down, and I couldn’t stop smiling! This is my pride and joy and wouldn’t change it for anything. I enjoy every single minute it’s on my wrist.

  6. Unimatic UC2 (2025): By now I’m deep into watches, and micro brands are really growing on me. I went to Milano and had to stop by the Unimatic boutique. I went there because I wanted my first GMT, the UT4. But once I tried this one I just couldn’t resist its robust yet minimalistic and timeless design - I got it. And I LOVE it. Perfect for daily use in any circumstance. It just works.

  7. Omega Railmaster Blue Denim(2026): my latest purchase. After looking around for a long time for something with an outstanding movement, well proportioned, discrete, and unique, I found this piece to be the perfect intersection of all of that. Fully brushed, unique dial, co-axial movement, and honestly, I’ve never seen and don’t know anyone who owns one, which attracts me. It’s an understated watch. I must say that the lack of microadjustment is definitely something that bothers me since it’s an amazing feature from my SMP300 that ensures I always have the best fit. But I like it… it’s growing on me as time goes by.

What is next?
Well, I’m torn between a Speedy(to complete my omega Trilogy) and an Explorer II 16570 Polar dial to satisfy both my wish for a GMT and a white dial. I appreciate your opinion if you’d like to share.

Thank you so much for reading!

P.S.: My wrist size is 18,5cm

The Grail. My lame psychology.

So I picked up my grail (Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300m 2025) a couple months ago and couldn’t be happier!

But…. I’ve been hesitant to wear it. While I DO own about 6 or 7 REALLY cool watches, and have been rotating them regularly, I’m always hesitant about putting the SMP on.

It’s an expensive watch (for me and alot of others) and I’m subconsciously scared of it loosing resell value. Now - this is dumb because I intend to keep it forever. But my “buy/sell” mentality associated with my “what’s the next shiny thing!” Mentality, really fcks with my enjoyment of the Grail I worked so hard to get.

But recently I noticed minor scratching on the case - (🙄literally nothing. Only shit you could see with a micro lens)

This was awesome.

Because my brain has shifted to “welp, you can’t sell it now!” and now I think I’m out of the honeymoon phase and have shifted to the “this is MY watch” phase. And now I am really enjoying it!

Tl;dr

I scratched my watch. Now I’m over the honeymoon phase and can explore the watch for what it was designed for and why I bought it: a rugged tool watch with phenomenal quality and complications.

Tl;dr was tl;dr

Heres pics of my SMP

My 3 watch collection

I hope reps are OK. These are my 3 favorites and the ones I wear by far the most.

The Timex was an engagement gift from my wife and is by far one of the most underrated, unappreciated watches out there.

[SOTC] After many years of collecting, I am going down to only three

I have been collecting watches for many years and owned more watches than I honestly needed. I kept buying, selling, changing rotations and trying to give every watch a purpose. Office watch, home watch, weekend watch, travel watch etc. In the end I was spending more time thinking about watches than actually enjoying them.

So I decided to sell everything and keep only three.
The Patek 5205G will be my normal daily and office watch. It is comfortable, low key and I can read the calendar much easier than my 5396.

The Day-Date Meteorite will be for special occasions, important meetings, weddings and anniversary etc. I love the DD but honestly the weight becomes tiring if I wear it the whole day, so no point forcing it to be my daily watch.

The Explorer II Polar will be for travel, holidays and anything where I don’t want to worry too much.

So that’s it. 5205 for normal life, DD for special occasions and Explorer II for travel. Hopefully this time I will stick to it 😂

These are the watches I am selling:

Patek Philippe 5396G
A. Lange & Söhne Odysseus in white gold
Rolex GMT-Master II Pepsi
Rolex Daytona Panda
Rolex Daytona black dial
Rolex Submariner Starbucks
Rolex Datejust mint green
Rolex Datejust silver dial
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph Panda
Omega Speedmaster (Omani **Khanjar emblem engraved on the case back only 200 made)**

Cartier Tank

The most difficult one to sell will be the 5396 because I really love that watch, but keeping the 5396 and 5205 together will put me back in the same situation again.

If anyone is genuinely interested in any of them, message me privately and I can share the full details, condition and asking price.
