White Milgauss and SARB035 are my two main watches, looking for maybe a vintage (or new?!) UG Polerouter or a Paul Newman style Chronograph… WDYT?! 🫶 PP Calatrava on wishlist but can’t justify the cost atm cause of recent real estate / new car purchase 🤡
first time here, dusting off my collection. hi!
Blue box: watches that get worn weekly. The Sinn is my go-to GMT for travel. The Peter Blake is my beach/fly fishing watch. The Speedy and Santos get a lot of wrist time.
Beige box: my nicer watches. The Explorer gets the most wear and is a steady companion. RG goes well with my skin tone. The Breguet and RG VC get comments. The 1921 is probably my favorite.
So... how do I fill in the missing spot in the blue box? I'm thinking AP RO in 37-39mm. Also - pick something to lose. Flame away
Started watch collecting 2 years ago. No big brand watch yet but going there. I don’t wanna miss out watches I liked just to get there. Hahaha!
Latest collection is the Nivada Grenchen F77 Ceramic with Meteorite Dial. The most unique piece now from my collections. Love the revival of the brand and the business direction they are going!
Next watch will be a Longines Conquest (couple watch) Tudor Monarch or the Nivada Antarctic (35mm). Depending on budget availability.
Grail: Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500V/110R-B705
What am I missing? I always wear 1 so there is a free spot. I have a beige nato strap for the turtle too. What style would you get next? I am not a huge fan of chronographs.
I’ve gone through a few different combinations of 3-5 watch collections. This is what I’ve arrived at currently. Recognizing I’ve definitely over-indexed on Rolex but my current collecting philosophy has value retention top of mind. Curious what you guys think.
Got into watch collecting to spend more time and bond with my son. Unfortunately went down the proverbial rabbit hole that never ends. I’m taking a pause to appreciate what I have but would love to get feedback on what I have and possible next watches. All watches from the AD except the Hermes and Oris watches. My next 2 watches aside from my Rolex grail of a Sky dweller is a Breguet Traditional and a JLC duo face reverso. Open to suggestions and feedback. Current collection:
Thinking white gold meteriote DD? I am not sure on Pateks, maybe a world time. Favorite to wear is vacheron. I also love the AP and do want one with a bracelet over time. The skydweller was my first big watch purchase so somewhat sentimental. The RD is just for fun. I also saw ozzy Osborne has one like it which influenced that decision.
Here are 3 photos of each, should I keep both or return one? Which one do you like the best?
Rubber Anthracite Grey vs Sailcloth Black + white stitch
Started getting into watches after my wife bought my first watch - the blue citizen on the left. Let me know what you think!
Taking a break for now. I would like to add a Zenith, Cartier, or IWC next, just waiting for the right time (or an impulsive purchase lol)
This is my State Of The Collection today. (By the way, I am asking for a new watch box for Fathers Day.)
I am at a crossroads. It is a fused collection from my own 40 years of collecting and of my late Father's collection that he left me. I am trying to figure out which dress watches to part with cuz they really aren't my gig. Some will stay for sure like Dad's two tone Datejust which was ever present on his wrist since I was a kid. The Stainless Datejust was my first Rolex purchase so that will be hard to part with. But others are very collectable like his 1940'-50's 18K Rose Gold Hooded Bubleback 3065 in mint condition. That watch is currently being overhauled by the Master Horologist at Bailey's Rolex Restoration. It will be in perfect condition when I get it back but will probably move on from my clan. It is very special, rare, and beautiful but also very petite. I know I will hardly ever wear it if at all. I prefer the 1950's 10K Gold Oyster Precision 6022 he left me. That watch totally rocks me and I do wear it for dress occasions. The only problem with the 3065 is that it was a gift from my Mom to my Dad for their 25th anniversary. Now I have it. Still, that one watch could turn into 1 super nice watch that I would like to have in my collection and several other more daily types if it sells for what I think it is worth. It is a tough choice to make. 2 watches not represented in these pictures are my Longines 18K gold art deco 1950's Tank and another tank that I cant even remember what it is. They are being serviced at the Bailey's as well. I think in the end, Dad would want me to make it my collection and not his. When the time comes, I plan to pass the SOTC on to my sons and I really don't care what they do with it. I would hope they keep anything that stirs them emotionally and gives them fond memories. Sell the rest and buy something special for your family or if you don't want it at all, sell the whole damn thing. I will be in a much better place where watches probably are not needed! I would like to trim the collection down to 12, possibly 14 max slots, not counting the pocket watch. That stays for sure!! It was my Great Grandfathers and it has his name engraved on the case back. Still runs well today.
Thoughts Welcomed.
Need a diver next, considering the Mido Ocean Star 39, what do you think?
Also feel free to critique my watches, except the Mickey watch, can't touch that, 😂
Currently considering swapping out the Grand Seiko for a vintage VC Overseas
Long time lurker, first time poster!
The two on my radar is a VC Overseas and Daytona Ghost.
