long story short, I absolutely fucking hate the gamecube controller, I hate the shoulder buttons vehemently, I don't really like the face buttons all that much

like if you like it that's totally chill, but I started playing smash with 4 on the gamepad, then ult on the procon

I quit ult when Steve came out but I'd consider myself a reasonably competent player, and I do want to invest time into this game because it looks sick and I have IRL friends who used to play PM so we play irl now, and I want to get into the tech skill etc etc

but as mentioned beforehand, I fucking hate the gamecube controller, it just does not work for me, it doesn't do what I want it to do, it doesn't work well in my hands, the triggers take way too much fucking effort to press, thank fuck I can map the buttons so I can make left trigger grab cause don't even get my fucking started on the absolutely terrible Z button

rambling aside, what are my options for something that feels more tolerable, because I want to pour hours upon hours into this game but I don't want to do it on a controller I hate cause it just feels like a chore at that point, like, it is not an enjoyable experience to physically play the game even if it's emotionally enjoyable cause it's smash bros but good

in an idealistic world there's a contraption that allows me to plug my nintendo switch pro controller into my wii (it has the gamecube ports) through a USB C to gamecube controller adapter

I do not know if this exists
