Hi! I recently acquired this BS model. The square wheel and wings logo is stamped upside down,it is not oriented with the ST DUPONT logo or the serial number. Is there a chance to be fake:?Has anyone seen this before on BS?I mean, is it something common?

Looking around for an L2 and i saw this one came by. I think it is fake despite that the serial number does not seem to pop-up in the fakes list.

I have never seen that “plaque” on the front before, so that throws me off. The plaque also has S.T Dupont on it, so the branding is now twice on the front. Further, the serial number seems “to perfect” but that could be no issue if it is a newer laser-engraved model.

For the serial number, i myself can make out one of the following four:

1GFJS99, 1GFJS96, 16FJS99 or 16FJS96

Hi, guys, I’d appreciate your opinion on this vintage S.T. Dupont I found. The seller asks €250. This will probably be my first lighter.

It’s empty/unfilled, and the seller wants a quick sale, which makes me a little cautious. What should I ask for before buying: any specific photos or a video of the opening/closing and mechanism?

Is €250 fair for this condition and pattern if it works properly?

This seller on Kleinanzeigen is a scammer, who asks for a Paypal payment via Friends and Family. He does not respond after receiving the payment and replies to messages from other accounts for the same item by saying it is still available. The account is a very old account with high ratings so it is natural that people trust it. High chance that the account was bought or stolen.

Early morning lacquer cleaning... Been using this polish to clean my lacquer Dupont, how 'bout everyone else, do you special method for cleaning lacquer?

What's this model name, do anybody know?

Habe vor vielen Jahren ein Dupont Feuerzeug online gekauft und wollte ermitteln, was für ein Modell ich da gekauft habe. Leider habe ich Online keine Bilder zu diesem Modell gefunden, da der Verschluss immer ein Deckel ist und keines der Feuerzeuge diesen Verschluss hat wie meines. Ich glaube auch nicht das es gefälscht ist. Vermutlich ist es ein Sammlerstück, welches nicht oft verkauft wurde? Wenn jemand weiterhelfen kann, herauszufinden, welches Modell das ist, dann freue ich mich. 

I bought an S.T. Dupont lighter online many years ago and have been trying to identify exactly which model it is. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any pictures of this particular model online. The closure is always a lid, and none of the lighters I’ve found have the same type of closure as mine.

I also don’t believe it’s a fake. Perhaps it’s a collector’s item that wasn’t produced or sold very often?

If anyone can help me identify which model this is, I’d really appreciate it.

First my gold dust good ping sound and later on it started sound off.

Turn out the Pin is broken, where should I buy a replacement part? I see they sell it on Chinese marketplace, is that suffice to buy from there.

Hi, folks! I’m considering buying this vintage S.T. Dupont lighter and would really appreciate some advice before I pull the trigger.

The seller is asking €350, but I may be able to negotiate it down to €300.

Could you help me identify the exact model and approximate year from the photos/serial number? Is this definitely a Ligne 2 rather than a Gatsby or another model?

Also, how serious are the worn areas on the palladium/metal finish? Can they be professionally restored or replated without damaging the black Laque de Chine?

And finally: at €300–350, would you consider this a good buy, or would you keep looking for a better-condition example?

I’ve had this lighter for several years but it’s very hard to find this exact spec, even when you know the name.

Does anything about it jump out as replica or fake?

Im not interested in buying this model, but rather practising on spotting fakes. This one im really not sure about, has anyone seen this before? Is it real?
