What do you imagine your favorite character look like?

I think MBJ has dark blue eyes, pointed ears, and a blue huadian that marks him as royalty. Oh, and he purrs.

I’ll get it out of the way right now, I’m a nendoroid collector of my favorite characters if i can find them. Looking to get the scummies and my favorite character is LQG. He doesn’t exist as one so naturally i just decided to look up any figure of him. Why did i find a singular blind box figure and his plushie, but literally nothing else! I’m so sad man, i just want my man on my shelf, but i think I’ll have to figure out how to get that custom made somehow… 🥲 Praying somehow, someway, someday… LQG gets the merch and figure he deserves 😪🥹🫶 (in fact give me the Liu siblings plus TLJ and ZZL bc I just need more characters to get merch n attention pls.)

What to read after SVSS novels? Of MXTX other works which would be a good transition into? Also i really liked the comedy of SVSS, are there other light novels out there in the same comedy tone?

Just finished SVSS and I read the glossary among other things bc i am a geek/nerd and have some questions about how names are made. For instance, i see people try and translate the sound of their names into other languages but as a mixed person from maternal Indigenous American and paternal old gods families, my names all do have very specific meanings. Is there an actual database and word order guide i can check out to see what my name translates to in Chinese? Im very curious.

I have this question in mind because I saw some fics on ao3 tagging Ming Fan/Yang Yixuan. From what I remember, when YYX first appeared, he was only a teenager as that was how he was referred to, at least in Chinese (as "young man" but hasn't reached the age of majority). At the time he was first introduced, LBH was 20, which makes MF 22. The age gap is a bit big, so I wanted to check if anyone knows abut his exact age

Honestly, OG!Luo Binghe/Shen Yuan (reversed isekai) is doing things to me... I think I might actually like their dynamic more than the main canon couple! I'm desperate for fics and fanart (I didn't find many fanarts, so I guess I’ll have to create it myself...)

I saw online that SQQ's birthday was on September 21. I'd like to ask where did fans even get this date? I know that it was supposed to be on the day SY transmigrated in PIDW, but I can't see why it has to be that date. SV started on November 21 as far as I remember

Listen, if you want piece-of-shit irredeemable SJ, that's fine but I hate seeing the monthly posts (reddit, tumblr, bsky, wherever else) high horsing some take like "If you cannot like your fave for the actual character that they are you don't like them at all" and then SJ gets mentioned.

First, SJ factually has tried to help people even when it didn't benefit him, and even when things got worse for him because he helped. He helped their fellow slave kid, he saved LQG when they were disciples even tho LQG thought he tried to kill him, he spared QHT's life, he hoped YQY wouldn't come save him when he was taken by LBH. These are all canon from the extras.

Second, SY is a hella biased and unreliable narrator. We DON'T KNOW if SJ was really a lecher or not. But we KNOW from the first chapters that NYY was close to him and he treated her well, there are evidences that being around men makes him uncomfortable, and SJ was a virgin. I don't wanna hear a damn thing about SY's narration about SJ coz he clearly doesn't know shit about him. Didn't even know his backstory.

Third, the ONLY actual (unwarranted) crime SJ did and we KNOW is his abuse of LBH. The whole story revolves around this fact. He could have treated the other disciple badly too and created a bad atmosphere at QJP sure, but bfr if you've read other xianxia, this isn't the worst thing ever, and it doesn't make a character "irredeemable". His view and attitude towards LBH COULD be irredeemable, as to the very end SJ didn't regret what he did to him. But to say he's a completely irredeemable piece of shit is totally false.

The great thing about SVSSS and SJ is that there's so much to be said that we can interpret however we want. If YOU want evil, selfish, hates everyone SJ, sure. Go for it. But don't shame and pick a fight with other fans who choose to see the GOOD sides of SJ that are canonically there and whine that they don't actually like his "actual" character. This is the essence of this post.

Hot take: Fans SHOULD be able to take what they like from a character they love and do whatever with it. That doesn't mean a damn thing to how "real" something is. It's all fiction. Don't moral police or high-horse how fans are supposed to enjoy a character. If you don't like someone's view of SJ then just block them instead of polluting the SJ feed/tag. To me, it's the difference of CREATING something for a character you love vs wanting ppl who you don't agree with to STOP. I don't care if you think it would be soooo much more interesting if ppl actually wrote SJ to be more of an asshole. Get over yourselves. Actual creators are getting discouraged because of you and that makes ME irritated.

Hi, scummies! I got curious what other novels scummies like (either danmei or baihe). Or maybe svsss is one and only for you?

I'm not an experienced reader in this genre but my top 3 are svsss, Thousand Autumns and Female General and Elder Princess. They all impressed me in some way and I noticed some common features. It all has messed up, manipultive MLs, love stories that make you frustrated but eager to see what is next, also all couples are not ideal and sentimental like Hualian for example (though I love them) but their love feels more hard-won in a way, that went through thick and thin bc of their own mistakes... Not to mention I think they're the best in terms of storytelling, pacing etc (from what I've read so far)

What is yours? Does this novels have something in common with svsss that made you fall for it too? And what novels you didn't enjoy if you don't mind sharing?
