Golf Clubs in Port Charlotte / Punta Gorda

I'm purchasing a home in the area and looking for a golf club to join. I noticed a few executive courses, but I want a full course with at least 18 holes. Something well maintained and challenging. I'd prefer private, but semi private is fine. I don't know the area. Can someone share some insight into the area golf and what to avoid and which clubs may have an good membership where I can easily join groups since I don't know anyone in the area?

Thanks in advance.

Snails on my house

How do I get rid of them? Without a pest control company. I used a dry snail bait but that seems to work for about 3 days and then they're back. Anybody have any ideas?

Petition to install Flock Cameras throughout Boca Grande

As a Boca Grande resident recently pointed out in a local Cape Coral subreddit, there are NO Flock cameras ANYWHERE on Boca Grande.

This is completely unacceptable, and from what I’ve been hearing, our neighbors are ticked on being an “oversight” in this safety net.

Please, I urge you to reach out to the Boca Grande Chamber of Commerce and DEMAND answers as to where our cameras are, and when we can expect installation.

This is UNACCEPTABLE.

Boca Grande!

Beginner shitty fisherman (if I can even say that) decided to see my local tropical waters at Boca! Love the peaceful atmosphere out of season and opportunity to park and fish without harrassment! Had some great drinks at the local Keylime Bistro and threw the lure about 2 blocks down!! Was not prepared, didn’t have live bait, I know there is a lot I screwed up however… I caught sunshine in the Gulf of Mexico and that brought me peace and happiness!! Also gave me the excuse to pull the 392 out and blast music with the wind in my face in full freedom of Florida!!

Tech entrepreneur sues Charlotte county, federal agencies to build house in endangered species habitat

Instead of avoiding the project or paying the fees, the entrepreneur is now suing to both avoid the fees and end the Florida scrub jay's protections. The lawsuit is still alive in federal court.

Regretting handling my accident claim without a lawyer

Got into a car accident about a month ago. The other driver caused it, police came out and made a report, and at the time I figured I could just handle the insurance stuff myself instead of making it a bigger deal. I’m starting to regret that decision. I’ve been going to appointments for my back since the crash and I’m still having pain, but dealing with insurance has been a headache. Every time I call I either get someone different or get told they’re still reviewing something.

From onboard the Key West Express / waking up to beautiful fort myers beach

This boat makes way! This was last night/this morning from fabulous Lani Kai resort recently recovered and reopened since hurricane Ian. My first time on the ferry smooth ride fast boat twin cummings diesels in each hull and the jet drives put out that rooster tail with key west in her wake. 3.5 hr boat ride 7 ish car ride home. Half prices in off-season both ship and hotel. Wish I could've stayed longer than 1 night

What's there even to do these days in SWFL without spending stupid money??

Can't even just go chill at the beach as recent hurricanes heavily altered the SWFL coastline, leaving many beach areas damaged and forcing counties to apparently "enforce strict paid parking fees" at the shorelines that remain open for example when I go to Sanibel every square inch of possible parking space is owned by some monopoly it seems like basically except the causeway leading to Sanibel..

Logo Creation, looking for an artist who doesn’t use AI

Basically the title, I’m looking for a local artist that can make a full logo/brand identity package that does not use AI. I’m a creator myself but not in a visual arts space, I’d love to work with someone who can handle making logos and branding.

Comment here or shoot me a DM with a portfolio or just some examples of what you’ve got. While digital design is probably the move, I’m open to hand drawn/painted/physical examples as well.

Looking for a good home inspector

I am purchasing a home in Fort Myers. My realtor suggested a home inspector, but I'm also looking for some other recommendations. I would like a very thorough home inspector. The area has obviously had hurricane damage so I would like a home inspector that is well-versed in mold/water damage. Thank you!

FPL IS A SPAM CENTER!

FPL Has Become Nothing More Than A Live Spam Center!

All I wanted to do was activate a new account to have my electricity turned on in my new residence. Instead, these scammers tried selling me everything under the sun.

A utility company should just be what they are and stay in their own lane.

45 minutes of trying be sold stupid shit. Felt like I was in the loan office of a car dealership trying to sell addons

Had LCEC when I lived in the Cape. I hope this FPL company doesn't turn out to be a major headache!

Moving to Fort Myers in about ten days… anyone have a 2br rental downtown?

Will be driving into town from the West coast around Friday the 14th or so with whatever fits in my 2door.. my adult son (20) will follow a week later in his own car.
I’m looking for something furnished or partially in the downtown area (I think? Help me out with this) to move into for 3-6 months or flexible, month to month if it works better for you. I prefer not to move into a large apartment complex - obviously because I don’t have furniture yet, but also because these places live you like a Conveyor belt of a resident and the rules and fees seem to be corporate BS, with the most amazing geniuses running the offices, if you understand what I mean.
Just looking for a nice landlord, who wants someone that will be low maintenance, take care of their home/rental, respect their property, is very clean, doesn’t party/smoke/live like a slob, will pay the bills, comply with your requests, fix things without demanding you do it, or at odd times, did I mention keep it insanely clean?
Anyway, let me know if you’re still reading this. Ideally 2br, 2bath, we have two cars, ‘25 Elantra and ‘21 430i, no felonies or even speeding tickets, my sons credit is minimal - he’s young, mine is about 550, I have a co-signer if it’s needed. I just left an apt early to make the move, agreed with the owners an eviction was easier than paying the entire lease out. We left amicably, I have the text messages, but we can discuss.
Thank you for reading this, and for your time. 😀

Oh… budget is around 1500/+\- but I can be flexible. 😘
