S24 Series Issues After One UI 8.5 (Important)

Okay, so before you say "let it settle," it's been 3 days, the phone's settled, all the data gathering is done, battery's stable, everything's set. Now let's talk issues. Let me know if you guys have the same problems listed below or if you found any fixes.

The quick panel lag is so much worse now, it's crazy! Before, with One UI 8, it was manageable if you just turned off the RAM Plus feature, but now it's terrible. The quick panel lags when you swipe left for notifications, I mean, the whole quick panel UI is totally messed up. It feels like i'm using a 2-300$ phone.

The UI isn't consistent across apps; some are polished, others aren't. For example, the clock app has a weird background, and the caller app's grey background isn't AMOLED, so it looks messy. I turned off the "now brief" feature because it's useless, but Samsung keeps forcing me to turn it back on by giving me a "now bar" that asks me to enable it. I really don't want it, so just stop it already! Also the battery pill wtf is that man greyish shyt thing i mean it was better before why u change it.

So, the next big thing is connectivity, my Wi-Fi is good, but what's up with the cellular data? It's really bad, Samsung needs to fix it ASAP. Some apps work fine, others buffer, it's so inconsistent. I'm on LTE, not 5G, I don't need 5G, it drains the battery like crazy.

The battery's good, like with the April patch, and it works fine on Wi-Fi. But with cellular, it feels like it drains more than before. On Wi-Fi, I get around 7-8 hours of screen-on time, and with cellular, it's more than 5 hours with normal use.

The system UI and One UI home optimization is a big problem; I used to get 8-9 hours of SOT, but now it's less, so it needs fix too. I mean dude these 2 are draining more power than the AOD like what why?

Sometimes the animations feel a bit stuttery, not the quick panel, that's a whole different story. I'm talking about the regular back and closing animations, even call animations, they just seem to be missing something, like the search button on the app drawer, there's no animation there at all.

Scrolling feels laggy now, Play Store scroll feels laggy, X scroll feels laggy, Spotify scroll lag, Reddit and Insta are good. X has a fix, turn off auto video playback in settings. All apps in settings feel laggy, like the refresh rate changed from 120 to 60Hz.

I have a fix for the animations though: switch off the phone after the update, then turn it on after a minute. The animations get pretty good, I'd say, but still need some polishing.

Ram management had gotten a bit better after the switch off thing.

No heating issue right now, it just suddenly getting hot after the update without doing anything major, probably because of all the data gathering. Gaming heat management also better now, it doesn't get as hot as it used to, which is an improvement.

All the AI stuff and new features are cool, but Samsung totally ripped us off by not putting the scan feature right in the camera app. It was so handy and needed, why'd you do that, Samsung? I mean, the lag isn't even fixed, so why bother taking out the scan feature from the camera app in the name of hardware boundaries? It was there in the beta versions. There's a workaround for that feature from the notes app but it includes a lot of steps.

The May security patch update is pending. I hope we'll get fixes for the cellular connectivity issue and animation fixes. Maybe the quick panel lag will get fixed somewhat, at least like before. I'm not saying to fix it properly before One UI 9.

Those are all the issues I've faced and some of the fixes. Let me know if there are more issues I haven't noticed yet and if you have any fixes for those.

UI bug on One UI 8.5

After I updated my s24 Ultra the battery icon got this ugly long icon (dose that mean longer batterylife?) I tried finding a solution in good lock. Also the docs apps got smaller and they are even smaller when home up is on.

Antutu score et battery life of my Galaxy S24+ with Exynos 2400

EDIT: Pastebin updated to v2.0 — now 321 packages, validated on One UI 8.5: https://pastebin.com/FdfDYqZt

UPDATE -One UI 8.5 SUCCESS

I performed an extreme debloat (291 packages) with Shizuku+Canta and here are the Antutu score and ranking, as well as the battery life of my Samsung Galaxy S24+ OneUI 8.0. What figures do you get?

⚠️ Warranty & Knox Status :

Many of you have asked if this method trips Knox or voids the warranty. I can confirm it does not. Since this uses Shizuku/Canta without rooting or modifying the bootloader, my device remains 100% stock. Click here for proof of status

⚠️ DISCLAIMER & METHODOLOGY :

Below is the list of the 291 packages I uninstalled via Canta to achieve these results (2.1M AnTuTuscore / 38°C max). Please note that this configuration is radical and tailored to my specific workflow.

Required Alternatives: I have removed core system apps (Camera, Gallery, Keyboard, etc.) on Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus. If you apply this list, ensure you have installed your preferred alternatives (GCam, third-party galleries, etc.) before removing the Samsung services.

Customization is Key: This list is not a "one-size-fits-all" script. It is a starting point. Please review the list carefully and keep the packages you actually need based on your own usage.

Responsibility: Perform a full backup of your data before proceeding. I am not responsible for any "bricks," data loss, or system instabilities resulting from your choices.

For those wondering how I achieved this score: it's simple. My processor is no longer wasting 30% of its cycles managing useless services, telemetry, and proprietary background bloat. The result? Less heat, better responsiveness, and a battery that lasts 11+ hours of SoT.

If you want to do the same, here is the full list of packages I safely removed (via Shizuku/Canta): https://pastebin.com/FdfDYqZt Knowledge is a tool; use it with caution.*

⚠️ SAFETY & REVERSIBILITY :

Worried about removing too much? Don't be. Because we are using Shizuku/Canta, these changes are fully reversible. If you accidentally remove a package you need, simply open Canta, go to your 'Uninstalled' list, select the app, and hit Restore. No root required, no Knox tripped, and your system remains perfectly intact.

Help Galaxy s24

Hey guys,

I could really use some help because things got kinda rough here.

My phone took a few drops without a case yeah I know that was dumb and now the frame has small scratches, scuffs, and even a few light dents. Nothing too serious but it really bothers me visually.

I wanted to know if there’s any way to improve this at home, if polishing actually works or just makes it worse, and whether it’s worth trying anything or if I should just accept it and slap a case on it.

Now here comes the worst part yeah I managed to make it even worse

Out of nowhere I had the brilliant idea to use a product called Vonix Prisma the kind with acid meant for automotive glass on my phone screen

Result it completely removed the oleophobic coating and now the screen gets greasy just by looking at it it feels sticky and is REALLY hard to clean

I basically turned the screen into a fingerprint magnet

I want to know if there’s any way to restore that oleophobic coating without replacing the entire screen

If anyone’s been through something similar or knows about this just be real with me I’m open to any advice before I waste money

Thanks

Wymiana telefonu

Witam chciałbym zmienić telefon, aktualnie mam s21, planuje zakupić s23 ultra. Pytanie do posiadaczy nowszych czy warto dołożyć do s24? Czy te różnice są aż tak duże?

S24 Ultra Cases?

Hello everyone, I'm aware im about 2 years late to the party, but I recently upgraded from my S21 Ultra, to an S24 ultra,I'm after the best case, (under £40 ideally, MAX £50, second-hand okay but not ideal). Main things I care about (in order) are: Ergonomics (grip, feel in the hand), Functionality (protection), premium feel, and ideally it should look pretty nice. What would you recommend and why? Many thanks!
