South Sudan LUMIX s5 II X + Samyang 35-150
I took these in January 2026 at a Mundari cattle camp in South Sudan.
Shot on a Lumix S5 IIX with the Samyang 35–150mm f/2–2.8.
For the edit I wanted to move away from a clean digital B&W and push it towards something rougher and more analogue. Sebastião Salgado was obviously a big reference — especially the contrast, grain, deep blacks and the way the light cuts through the smoke.
I didn’t want to copy his look exactly, but definitely tried to borrow some of that feeling.
Curious what you think about the edit. Would you push the contrast/grain even further, or is this already enough?
