Not the best day for a Mail post, I know…

Card 1 is an actual photo after today’s game, headed to an underground lab in Wisconsin to see Dr. Dre in order to get his swing back on track. I heard he didn’t even get on the flight with the team-He’s THAT determined.

1992 Ultra Tony Gwynn Commemorative Series 1-10

In honor of Tony Gwynn’s birthday (5/10/60).

1992 Ultra Tony Gwynn Commemorative Subset #1-10. Inserted in Series 1 packs.

This subset has beautiful shots of Tony in action on the front and close ups on the back. The back of each card gives insightful details of Tony’s career in baseball and his outstanding achievements both on and off the field.

1985 Padres (83-79)

The 85 Topps set we really start to get into the inserts that previous years lacked and we are now so familiar with in these products.

In addition to the regular player cards you get the Steve Garvey Record Breakers for his errorless innings streak.

The Father and Son card with Bob and Terry Kennedy.

The super random throw back 1974 Draft Pick card with Billy Almon.

Then the Tony Gwynn All- Star card in addition to his regular player card. His player card is my favorite of the set with the flip up sunglasses.

Also thrown in are some Fleer and Donruss from 85.

Padres signed future HOFer Roberto Alomar as a free agent in 1985.

Steve Garvey lost his errorless innings streak that went from 1983-1985.

Lamar Hoyt tied a club record by winning 11 straight decisions.

Gary Templeton tied an MLB record with four intentional walks in a game.

In 85 Gwynn, Garvey, Nettles, Kennedy and Hoyt were all All-Star game starters. Gossage was also first team as a reliever. Gary Templeton was a reserve. Dick Williams was the NL Manager.

Lamar Hoyt was also the All-star game MVP and the NL won 6-1.
