Hi im just wondering if this is scale rot? She hasnt eaten in about a month and im starting to get a little concerned.
Hi! Is it okay to feed two pinkies a week, or? My girl is in between sizes where she’ll eat two pinkies but is too small for a fuzzy. I’m trying to figure out the best feeding regime now until she sizes up officially.
Should it be 2 pinkies once a week. Or maybe like a pinkie every 4 days instead of every 7. Any advice is appreciated!
Just sharing photos of my Elanor! She was born in 2024. I love the different morphs and colors that Sand Boas can come in. They are my favorite snakes!
So I just finished setting up the enclosure for my KSB.
I think it's awesome but I also think that it could be improved a bit. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. I have a lot of extra cork bark and branches from past builds, and I still got about a week and a half until l get her so things might be changed and moved around but as of right now, I think it's pretty awesome.
Yes im getting more hides yes im getting clutter thw substrate is play sand and topsoil mix has a filter into plea pebbles im also getting isopods and springtails and some plants for decor
I just got this little girl yesterday her name is Pharika! I’m pretty excited about this set up and I’m hoping she will be too! Let me know what yall think, and what I could do to improve! (The last picture was before I put the final sticks and leaf litter in)
So, I got my Kenyan sand boa on Tuesday May 5th. I attempted first feed on Sunday May 10th. I didn’t expect her to eat truly since she’d only been acclimating less than a week. But yesterday I attempted another feed at dusk (from what I read they’re most active at dusk and dawn, please correct me if I’m wrong) and she refused again. I’m using frozen/thawed pinky’s and was told she was eating them just fine. Should I try smaller pinky’s? She is tiny… I just don’t know if I’m doing something wrong so I’d love all the tips and tricks!
Meet Rorschach…
He has been in hiding deep underground since coming home. I assume it was due to him going into shed a week after though because, now, he’s everywhere! His favorite place is inside that cave during the day
32x16x16, 34 gallons. Has a heat mat on the bottom right set at 90F and one in the middle set at 80F. Think I did everything right, but I read some more guides and I’m getting conflicting information. Is this set up good for a male Kenyan sand boa?
Just wanted to take the time to introduce my little Guinevere (Gwen or Gwennie.)
She's a little over a year old now and is the SWEETEST girl. She has such a calm demeanor and is completely ok with being handled. She had a stuck shed once, and was so calm when I was handling her to help her out. I am so happy to have such sweet baby.
I am trying to buy a 36” x 18” x 18” tank with a deep section for substrate so that whatever little wormie dude I get has enough room to dig. I just wanted to find a good deal.
I am honestly SO lost I was only prepared to buy a tank but now I need to consider the cost of accessories and what I’d use and what even are these things?
What’s the hood on top of the first listing? And why does the second listing look like it doesn’t have a lid? Which one of these looks like a better deal? Or neither?
Help!!!
While looking at sand boas I came across “Black Russian sand boas.” Besides the color, these dudes look the most like Arabian sand boas to me! Does anyone have a care sheet on them? I can’t really seem to find much info on them…
I’m looking for a good 36 x 18 x 18 enclosure with good depth for a sand boa to dig in. I figured out tanks designed for turtles tend to have deeper areas I could put substrate. Would this be good for a sand boa?
I would honestly prefer the double-door style of enclosure but I haven’t been having luck finding ones with deeper substrate sections.
My girl is curious, skittish and chill 😛
This is Clementine, my sister‘s snake that I take care of so she’s kinda my snake. She does only have one eye that’s why her eye looks weird in the photo.
The dejected look of a snake who's humans didn't leave him a fuzzy offering.
(Nevermind the fact that he never came out for the one left two nights before...or the one three nights before that)
"I'm going to come out and explore my surroundings every night except for when they leave me food"- Tangerine probably
9 month old wildtype KSB. Got him set up at home a few days ago and just had his first feed with zero issues, and he seems to be super curious! I’m giving him time to settle in before I start handling, even though this guy was hatched at my job so he’s been handled pretty extensively already. So far he’s the perfect addition and the coolest little dude!
