Santa Muerte is my refuge

Santa Muerte has done miracles for me, and I am here to give her the praise and profound recognition of Her spiritual support and grace.

See, I woke up in a body bag in 2018 after fighting my addiction to opiates, specifically street heroin. I was thrown back into my body and I realized after my steady devotions in 2021 that it was She who protected me.

I tried to commit suicide in march 2022 after losing my Brother to murder in Milwaukee. I was spared.

In 2023 I prayed and asked for a door to be opened after almost getting abducted with my girlfriend (who was TikTok known). Long story. Well I was able to travel the entire United States in style, even driving a brand new Mercedes off the lot for a trust fund character.

I got married on standing rock, being native reconnected to my traditional ways. The story goes on.

Santa Muerte is quick and responsive to answer my prayers. I am so grateful for her help to me. I’ve been through some rough things. Now I’m married with a wife and awesome children who we have in my family. I am a protector and a warrior. I am so grateful to have these blessings in my life. Miigwech Santissima thank you for allowing me to live a better life.

I need honest feedback /help

Okay, I want to start by being honest I don’t know a lot about this topic. I surround myself with people who work with her, but I personally don’t know much.

The reason I’m making this post is because I feel like there’s a repeating pattern, and I just want help sorting it out.

I’ve always been spiritual. I grew up in a spiritual Dominican family that practices the 21 Divisions. As I got older and started meeting people from different practices, I got introduced to Santa Muerte. I never saw her as evil. I never felt like she was scary or that she would harm me. I always felt a strong, almost innocent presence from her.

A lot of people I’ve met have talked to me about her and introduced me to her more. In readings, people often say she wants to work with me and talk to me. But when I bring her up to my family, they always say she’s evil, that I’ll regret working with her, and that I’ll get myself into a situation I can’t get out of. That made me go back and forth and feel worried.
I’m not going to downplay the 21 Divisions spirits they’ve helped me in many ways. But the communication and the feeling with them isn’t the same as what I experience with her.
When I call out to Santa Muerte, she shows up right away. One day I offered her coffee and she appeared in it. When I pray to her, she shows up in my dreams wearing a red robe. She always makes me feel her presence. There have been times when I was crying and after talking to her I felt so much better.

The problem is that I know myself. I get lazy, I forget things, and I’m inconsistent. I don’t feel ready to fully devote myself to her. Devotion feels like giving yourself completely to her, and I don’t think I can do that right now. I can’t commit to praying every day because I know how inconsistent I am. Still, I really want to talk to her not even just to ask for things, but just to talk.
Every time I try to pull away, I feel even more drawn to her.

She recently helped me get a job. I worked with someone who works with her, and after struggling to get the job I wanted, I got it (along with other support, of course). I’m very grateful for that.
I’ve made promises that if she helped me I would devote myself to her… and I never did. That makes me feel bad. I still feel called to her, but I don’t want to devote myself yet. Maybe in the future when I’m older, but not right now. I don’t feel like I can give myself to her the way a real devotee should praying consistently and dedicating my life to her.
I also have habits I know aren’t good, and I feel like I’d have to stop them if I devoted to her. Sometimes I feel disgusted with myself or like I’m not good enough for her.

So I just want to know what you all think I should do.
Is there a way I can still talk to her and have a connection without full devotion?

This was a sign, right?

I recently became interested in learning more about Santa Muerte. I picked up a couple of books and have been reading those and watching a few devotees talk about their practice on YT.

Earlier tonight I was pondering over whether or not this was just an interest or a true calling and if I was ready to make that step. As I was thinking about this the song ended on the station I was listening to - and the song (Don’t Fear) The Reaper started playing!

That’s a pretty clear sign, right?
