I take it Marvel should do a proper redemption for Wanda without it feeling desperate
Now how do I write this. As someone who's a fan of Wanda, I wasn't a fan of the way they wrote her in Multiverse of Madness. Turning her into a psycho right after she had such a wonderful character development in WandaVision was just uncalled for, stripping her layers that made her interesting by using a flavorless explanation like the Darkhold just doesn't work at all. Not only does it negate any character development she had, but I feel like it also rots any chance for Wanda to have a proper redemption/or further character development after MoM.
Maybe I'm probably too pessimistic I know. But I just cant see how Wanda's character can flourish (or atleast in a multidimensional way) after it had such a damaging movie like MoM ruin any complexities with her character, essentially rendering her into an empty husk of her character. At this point, it all comes down to how Marvel can handle her. Maybe I'm too naggy but it can't simply be an empty word-for-word explanation that it was the darkhold because expositions like that don't have emotional weight and it would just be barfing empty sludge. (I get it, I'm too dramatic 😂😭) Although, I wouldn't be too surprised if Marvel doesn't acknowledge that movie or deal with it in a lackluster way that kind of ruins her character further because they've shown that Wanda doesn't seem to be their favorite, killing her off after WandaVision which was a huge success for her character.
Alright, final statement. I genuinely feel its much safer for Marvel to just never acknowledge MoM as a movie or mention it at all, or even decanonize it because it was such a damaging thing for Wanda's character that it kind of soured the character aswell, like her iteration will only be seen as this empty husk of a psychopathic villain without any layers. I think its better if Marvel just disregards Multiverse of Madness and doesn't give her a redemption arc for that and just continue the arc that was set up in WandaVision.
