Romanian Visa - Flight reservation - pls help

Hi,

I’m planning to apply for a schengen visa. I initially bought a cancellable flight for my application pero nag cancel ng flights yung airline and waiting pa ng options sa end nila for rebooking.

I’m thinking to just buy a flight reservation dahil cancelled na yung unang nabook ko pero worry ko na pag pinasa ko sya sa online application, it will take time before I can schedule an appointment. Sa nababasa ko it could take two weeks pa.

Thank you

Visa taking awhile

Hi has anyone here called the visa center / embassy to follow up with their visa status with a flight or travel coming up? Do you recommend doing so and why?

Availed of the SMS/Email updates at VFS but haven’t received anything.

I submitted my application on June 26 in person sa VFS, but still haven’t received any emails/texts kung pino-process na or kung napadala na ba sa embassy yung application ko. I was able to submit the documents, pay for the fee, and do the biometrics thing.

Kinda upset because I paid extra to be updated through email/SMS, and I’ve also read about other people being able to receive updates if their application has been processed or handed over to the embassy already.

I’ve also been checking the website for the status of my application and nothing comes up. Anyone have the same experience? Haha need ko lang malaman kung normal ‘to or hindi.

What are my chances of being offloaded?

Hi, I (31F) got my schengen visa from France for 40 days ME. My dilemma is that while I am capable of funding my own trip - I will also be staying at my bf’s parents’ home in France for a portion of my trip (which has an attestation d’accueil).

Some sources say that having a host is already considered a sponsored travel, while I called immigration at NAIA directly to ask. And they said AOSG is only required for travelers solely depending on another person, financially.

I’m just worried of being offloaded since it will be a 40 day trip on a tourist visa. I will be meeting my bf (French expat living in Manila) in Spain as he already left Manila ahead of me, and we will be splitting expenses. I just also dont want to be at risk of confusing the officers, since I will be also “visiting” his family there why is it not a visit visa. Or am i just overthinking?

What are the common questions asked at PH immigration? Especially if you’re a woman traveling alone.

For context:

I have a stable job (₱95k per month)

With savings of US$8,000

Recent travels to Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Laos, and Vietnam

Need feedback on my Germany Schengen visa cover letter

Need some advice before I submit my first Schengen visa application.

Context:
- 6-month relationship with my boyfriend.
- We’ve only met once in Vietnam.
- He’s sponsoring my entire trip to Germany.
- This is my first Schengen visa application.
- I have a full-time job in the Philippines and have been employed for 5 months with a 3-year contract bond.

I’m mainly asking if there’s anything in my cover letter that could be a red flag or should be changed based on my situation.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

When to Book BLS for Schengen Visa?

Hi everyone! I’m planning to travel to Spain in December 2026 or January 2027 and will be applying for a Schengen visa through BLS. For those who have applied before, when would you recommend booking a BLS appointment? I’m wondering how many months in advance is ideal, especially since appointment slots can fill up quickly. Thank you in advance for your advice!

First Time Schengen Visa Application Approved!! (BLS Spain Cebu)

Hello! Pansin ko lang wala masyado dito nag-sshare ng experience nila with BLS Spain in Cebu so sharing my timeline and experience.

Timeline:

  • May 5 - Booked Appointment for June 19th Appointment
  • June 19 - Appointment at BLS Cebu
  • June 24 - Status changed from "Application In Progress" to "Processing at Mission"
  • July 2 - BLS sent an email saying  "Passport has been dispatched" along side with its LBC Tracking
    • Checked the EES system and it showed "Authorised stay: OK"
  • July 4 - Received my passport with the visa foil on it!

Profile:

This was my first time applying for a Schengen visa, and I handled the entire application myself without using an agency or visa assistance service.

I'm a remote employee and currently head a division at my company. I also have an extensive travel history, with 137 flights taken in 2025 alone, and previous trips across several ASEAN countries and the Middle East.

My itinerary was for a leisure vacation covering Spain, the South of France, and Italy.

For my financial documents, I used only my GoTyme Bank account (checking and savings account) as proof of funds ADB around 180k-205k with ending balance upon application around 310k-375k. To support my employment and income, I submitted my Q4 2025 and Q1 2026 (2551Q/A & 1701Q/A) ITRs (yes I pay my taxes according to my salary lol).

Need help regarding bank statements

Planning to apply Schengen Visa in Germany and wanted to ask my chances of approval:

As a freelancer..

3 bank statements:

1 - is from Wise (to show where I receive my salary)
2 - is from Maribank (to show where I directly send my salary from Wise and where my money rotates) - no high ADB here
3 - is from BPI (this is my main savings account with 200k adb but no normal movements, I just literally put my savings here)

Bank certificate - will use BPI since that's my savings account.

would the invitation letter suffice since im self-funded naman?

Norway Visit Visa

Is it true that Norway is quite strict when it comes to visit visa applications sponsored by an aunt or uncle? I’m currently waiting for the result of my second application after my first application was refused. The reason for the refusal was that the embassy had ‘reasonable doubts as to your intention to leave the territory of the Member States before the expiry of the visa’.
For my second application, I worked hard to address that concern. I’m a student, this will be my first time traveling abroad, and we only requested a 27-day stay. I also strengthened my proof of ties to the Philippines by submitting additional supporting documents to show that I have strong reasons to return after my trip. My application status on EES is still showing “Not OK,” just like it did during my first application, so I’m feeling quite anxious.
Has anyone here been approved for a Norway visit visa under similar circumstances, especially with an aunt or uncle as the sponsor? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience. Thank you!

UK Certificate of Travel + ILR — do I need Schengen visa for Netherlands?

I’m planning a short trip to the Netherlands. I want to travel by Stena Line ferry from Harwich to Hook of Holland, taking my car, then drive to Amsterdam with my girlfriend.

I live in the UK and have Indefinite Leave to Remain, with my UK status on eVisa. I travel on a UK Home Office Certificate of Travel — the black travel document — not a British passport. My nationality is Iraqi.

The Netherlands visa checker did not give me a clear answer when I entered Iraq, and then it told me to fill it again as a refugee/stateless/travel document holder.

Has anyone recently travelled to the Netherlands with a UK Certificate of Travel and ILR?

Do I need a Schengen visa for the Netherlands with this document?

Will Stena Line allow boarding from Harwich if I don’t have a visa?

Does ILR/eVisa make any difference, or is it based only on nationality and travel document?
