the water is moving inside of thecentral chambers. The mass moving creates both air pressures and a vacuum depending on the direction it is rotated

i'm alive

Opener track from the "Third Eye" doodles, which are quite the ride. This represents me being alive, and i'm very alive when i see that we reached 10.000 visitors to this subreddit during the last week!!!

You probably came for some video featuring very strange instruments, but I'm just a very ordinary pianist doing improvisation (all doodles are, even this one) records every month (four years now!).

I also composed classical music when I was a kid, the Piano Compendium, and an album of Song_s.

We're ending all evil through music!!!!!!! So even if the algorithm will keep us apart we will meet again. Please consider subscribing to my channel to keep up with the mission.

NDARA 🇺🇬

"In this video, filmed at the Alur Cultural Festival in Kampala by @kogot.peter we see the ndara, a large log xylophone laid on the ground and played simultaneously by several musicians. The ndara is the traditional xylophone of the Alur, a Luo-speaking people living between Uganda's West Nile region and the northeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Historically described as consisting of eight wooden keys placed over bundles of grass and positioned above a resonating pit, in contemporary contexts expanded versions are often found, featuring a greater number of keys, yet still recognized as ndara within the Luo-Alur tradition. Very similar instruments appear under different names in various regions of Uganda and the Congo, for example: the endara among the Bakonjo/Nande, the amadinda among the Baganda, and the embaíre among the Basoga. These names are not merely lexical variants since each one refers to a specific cultural context, repertoire, and construction details, yet all belong to the broader family. of African log xylophones."

The Toner Kebab

"Danaël is an artist and inventor based in France. He creates experimental instruments that originate from the movements of his work. His latest work, 'Kebab Symphony,' reconstructs the hand movements of a kebab chef into a musical instrument. Instead of rotating meat, he spins the instrument, and instead of a knife, he uses a bow to produce sound. In essence, the motion of slicing the kebab becomes a performance in itself."

Playing my 4th Ballade at the Site of an Ancient Greek Temple

Since you liked yesterday's post I did alone at 10, here's when I played for a little public some years later.

Piano Compendium's last volume begins with this composition, that was recorded (not very well, but I'm surprised they even recorded it) by the town's administration.

The place is right where once stood an ancient greek temple from the III century BCE, now inevitably in ruin. Behind the camera you could've seen some ancient ionic columns and very strange sculptures.

I'm happy they recorded my playing, as I could finally complete the compendium with something not recorded alone at my home.

By the way subscribe to my youtube. You're very wise to stop by and read, like an ancient scribe. Even better!!!

The aulos goes hard

"Ancient civilizations like Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, and the Middle East used a rich variety of instruments whose real sounds have been reconstructed through archaeology and replicas. Greek music featured the lyre and aulos, producing bright string tones and reedy, double-pipe harmonies. Egyptian instruments like harps, flutes, and sistrums created layered, rhythmic textures used in rituals. In the Middle East, early ouds and frame drums shaped melodic and percussive traditions. Today, historians and musicians recreate these instruments using traditional materials, offering rare insight into how ancient music actually sounded, bridging thousands of years of history in sound."
