98k miles, GT, 2.0 TSI, timing chain and battery just replaced. Wondering if there’s anything I should be aware of, any easy wins regarding mods / quality of life upgrades? Any help appreciated!
So i want to buy a car, and i found an 2008 scirocco 1.4 tsi 160 hp with 116.000 km on clock. Te owner bought the car for his wife in 2022, he did the oil changes and changed the timing chain, the entire distribution. She made only 7k km from 2022 till now. He sells the car because he is no longer with her togheter. I saw the car in person, it looks good, sounds good but im scared because i heard that the 1.4.tsi with 160 hp are not reliable. The car as i said, looks good and drives good and he sells it for 3500€ but it dosent have insurance. Thats not a big problem tho..
This was sat at just below 90 degrees in the coolant gauge in around 11 degree outside temp. Is this normal or is this a water pump/coolant issue?
The engine is a 122hp with 275k km (170k miles). Timing chain and clutch have already been done. He's asking for 3200 euros and the car is basically spotless with all the servicing done by wolkwagen up to 2018 and then from a third party mechanic. Also the brakes have also been done recently

What do we think it’s worth roughly? Is it worth going motorway route, or trying for private sale? I think it’s a good example that’s got plenty of life in it yet.
Is anybody selling/know where to buy a door handle end cap? It is for my Volkswagen scirocco r-line 2014. It is the left side passenger door
Sup guys this issue is giving me a headache for a long time. My understanding is take it on a motorway to clean it, I’ve done that but now it’s gone in limp mode with engine management light and the squiggly light. I was told short journeys causes this which is absurd because I don’t always take it out for an hours run a day I do a lot of short journeys in and around town. Surely this can’t be it? Sounds a bit daft to me that I can’t use my car to run errands, take the dog out etc.. The light comes on frequently. Is there an underlying issue causing this? Or is it simply short journeys?

I’ve heard that there might be a way to bypass the system or enable it without going through the dealership. I’d really like to use CarPlay, but I don’t want to pay a huge amount of money just for an activation code from my local dealer.
Hi, maybe someone knows why the yellow/torquoise wire of the headlight connector is cut and goes inside the car interior? When headlights are turned off this headlight is off, but the other one that still has the cable connected is on
7 years since I collected my 2010 Scirocco GT TDi 170ps and It’s still the family car (do have a pick up for work) currently approaching 230,000 miles too.
Never seen the need to change it. It still looks great, always liked the design. It’s more than fast enough, comfy does 55mpg on a trip and so far it’s never let me down. Really reliable with only general maintenance.
It’s hard to think it’s a 16 yo car. Don’t think I’d ever sell it just maybe add another car to the collection.
Ps I still have the Golf too. Altho that is for sale.
Looking to paint my brake callipers, any suggestions on what would be a good accent colour for the car? I’ve always loved red callipers (the interior lights are red so it could (?) suit) but I’m not sure they’d match too nicely. The car itself is navy with black accents.
