TOP 10 SCREAMO ALBUMS OF ALL TIME:

Don’t take this list personally, because it’s my personal list. These are my Top 10 Screamo Albums of All Time (ranked 10 to my number 1). I’ve been blasting these albums for almost 20 years, and I believe they have shape the Screamo sound we know today. A lot of these albums were released in the early 2000s, so yeah it might look like a starter pack. Although, these albums never get old and they express pure passion, raw emotion, and abrasive intensity. What are your all-time favorite Screamo Albums!?

Bands - Albums
10. Joshua Fit For battle - To Bring Our Own 9. End (2001)Daïtro - Laisser Vivre Les Squelettes (2005)
8. Pageninetynine - Document #8 (2001)
7. Raein - Il n’y a pas d’orchestre (2003)
6. The Sadest Landscape - All is apologized. All is forgiven (2007 Compilation)

birthday show

I’ve been in the scene consistently for about over a year now and have always dreamed of my own birthday show, my birthday is in march and I think it’d be awesome if it happened this year but I don’t know many bands and struggle talking to people at shows and such. Overall I need advice on what I should do the next couple of months to put myself out there and become a little more known in my scene even if it’s just for a small house birthday show? Also any tips or advice if the goal comes around on planning and reaching out to bands?

ISO a higher quality cover artwork for The Belmonte Academy - They Lit Up Like Cities(2003-04)

This band was from Portland Oregon from 03-05, members of this band went on to play in It Prevails, American Me, and Ugly Colors. Not sure if anyone here will even recognize the band but I’m trying to find a higher quality version of the album artwork!

Bloom Dream x Open Carry State hit NYC this Wednesday (8/19)!

C86’d DIY Vol. 21: Bloom Dream x Open Carry State Summer Tour this Wednesday in NYC (August 19th)!

After a little hiatus we are excited to be back at Trans-Pecos to bring a couple more of our fav Southern Emo/Screamo acts to NYC!

Bloom Dream blew us away with their 2024 release  of “It Didn’t Have to be this Way” riding the line between controlled chaos and beauty - sometimes the things that set an album or band apart are the soft bits interwoven between the chaos.  Their vein of emotional hardcore has hints of shoegaze and emoviolence, creating a transcendent experience.

Open Carry State are time travelers bridging some of the classic chaotic hardcore sounds (before there was even “screamo” bands) with mathy melodic guitars, pinhead start/stops, and chunky breakdowns that only last long enough for one or two spin kicks.  A band that we’ve been checking in on regularly since the release of their demo last year only to be melted to the ground by “Spitting in the Face of Progress.”

Our Southern friends will be sandwiched between an amazing line up of locals!

Opening up the show will be NYC x LI’s weonlyspokeinellipses with their first show in over a year.  Their two demos are incredibly impressive screamo and we can’t wait to see them perform live!

Wellness (members/x-mem of Heavenly Blue, Massa Nera, Forever, and Liturgy) will also be bringing their mathcore intensity to the stage - Seeing them at Endless Fest was truly a site to see!

Closing out the night will be our friends in Epoxy . Their self described “post-emo” covers a lot of ground hinting at influences from emo/screamo to Touch & Go Records, and even the angular, at times dancey, post-hardcore of the early 00’s that we don’t hear often enough these days.

It’s an amazing line up and so happy we can help out some of more of our Southern friends.  Come hang.

Wednesday August 19th, 2026
Trans-Pecos
9-15 Wycoff Ave
Ridgewood, Queens, NYC
All Ages // Doors at 7pm

Please help me identify this band

I've been trying to find a metalcore band for a while now but can't remember their name. Here's what I remember:

**What I Know:**

- The band has BOTH clean vocals and heavy screams

- I believe they are a lesser-known band

- The screamer's appearance is similar to Phil Bozeman (Atleast in the music video i watch/listened to, the singer dressed up similar to Phil when he was performing Unanswered for the Mitch Lucker memorial show)

- **Most importantly:** The YouTube comments on their videos are mostly of fans criticizing the clean vocalist and saying they just want the screams

**What I DON'T Remember:**

- Band name

- Any song titles

- Lyrics

- Which country they're from

- Exact time period I discovered them

I already checked my YouTube history and can't find it. Any help identifying this band would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Recommendations for bands similar to Away With Words?

I absolutely adore this EP they made, and I'm looking for more stuff like it. The extremely harsh vocals with heavy guitars mixed in with the more melodic sections/clean vocals is just 👌

I made a website for discovering and discussing albums from the emo/screamo scene

Hey everyone!

I've been working on a project called Ratecore, and I thought this subreddit might be interested.

The idea is to have one album featured every week, with the community having the whole week to listen to it, rate it and discuss it.

The website is focused on emo, screamo, post-hardcore, metalcore, Midwest emo, pop punk and related scenes. I really wanted to create something where an album doesn't just become another post that gets buried after a day — instead, everyone gets a dedicated week to actually listen and talk about it.

There are ratings, comments, user profiles, rankings and an archive of previous albums, so you can also go back and check out albums from previous weeks.

I'm still developing it and figuring out exactly what works, so I'd really appreciate feedback from people who are actually part of these communities.

If you're interested, check it out:

https://ratecore.vercel.app/

Would love to hear what you guys think, especially about the concept and which albums you think should be featured in the future. 🖤

things to listen to while i’m in the hospital

i have cancer, i’ve been told a lot that it’s highly treatable and likely curable which is really good. i’ve started my first course of chemotherapy and i’m gonna be in the hospital for anywhere from 1-3 weeks while they monitor my response to my first course of chemotherapy. any suggestions on things to listen to while i’m here?
