which ones can I do at home and have low risk of doing sth wrong?

Heyy!! For a long time, I've had my dream setup of ear piercings. Since I'm broke, I'd like to do some myself. Here's the setup I want. Which ones can I attempt doing at home? Any tips on how to do them? I've pierced my simple lobes and they turned out okay, besides that I have no experience in self-piercing. Thanks for any help🫶

I'm looking for suggestions.

Hi, good afternoon! I'm thinking of getting one or two more piercings on my face, but I'm not sure which ones would match the ones I already have! Could you leave any suggestions here? Thanks, I'll read your replies. ⚘️

Concerning amount of swelling. Help/advice needed

This is a little embarrassing but 😭 The top looks like it’s starting to sink into my skin. It’s almost 3 weeks old, it was perfectly fine, minimal swelling and little pain, but then it swole back up and became painful again about a day ago and now it looks really bad. I’m really worried and I can’t get advice from a professional piercer today (shops are closed on Sundays). Any help or advice on what I need to do would be greatly appreciated ..

Update: swelling got worse so I went to the dr’s. It was infected. They didn’t remove it but gave me some stuff to keep it clean, if it doesn’t get better I will have to go back !

Should i do my own Industrial

Anyone who's done their own industrial what you think is it worth it? Or should i save up and get it done proper.

Please don't give me generic advice to go to a pro like just dish me up the real tea.

I'm not afriad of needles and i've got a steady hand but I'm worried that i won't get the angle right since it's different for every ear and i'm just out of my bloody scope if im being honest.

I Think? i have the anatomy. Again i'm just out of my damn scope with this one

Anyone who did their own industrial how was the experience and do you think i could do it

Any suggestions for my setup?

Trying to brainstorm ideas to fill some of the space on my ears. Most of what I’m gonna get going forward will probably be done professionally to make sure my anatomy is right, but I do my lobes myself.
Other side is the same minus the third lobe but idk if I want it to be symmetrical or not. Not showing it cuz I have a bigass pimple in my ear rn💀

I’m also stretching them which are at I think 2g rn and my goal size is 00, so I don’t want it to look too crowded once I eventually can put bigger jewelry in.

The part on my upper cartilage is a coin slot with some hoops in it. What do u guys think?

Which piercings would suit me?

Hii! I’ve been debating getting more piercings lately because I want to customize my look a bit more. I’ve been thinking about getting more lobe piercings, an eyebrow piercing, and maybe a navel piercing if I have the right anatomy for it.

By the way, the eyebrow piercing in these photos is fake!! I was just curious to see what I’d look like with one :)

PSA - Rejection, Infection, Irritation

There has been a LOT of posts recently in regards to people's piercings "rejecting" or becoming "infected"

For future note -

Irritation is pretty common and often presents as an uncomfortable bump around the jewellery or piercing site

This is due to a product you are putting on it, the jewellery material causing a bother, or the fact you've bumped or slept on it. It can also happen from the piercing being done at an angle, or putting pressure on the bar causing movement

The solution to irritation is to keep clean and dry, and remove the source of the irritation. If you've slept on it, this means getting a piercing pillow and stopping sleeping on it. If you've gotten product in it or have used something other than saline, rinse it and spray with saline, then dry it. If it is at an angle, your best option may be to remove it and retry once its healed

Rejection is the process of the body pushing out a foreign object. There is generally redness, the bar becoming more visible, and it can be a bit sore

There is no option other than removal once the piercing has started to reject. Please remove it and allow it to heal

Surface piercings and dermals are temporary piercings. They are guaranteed to reject at some stage. The benefit of removing a rejecting piercing as early as possible is that it reduces the trail scarring from the body pushing it out

Infection happens due to the presence of bacteria. The solution to infection is antibiotics

Genuinely infected piercings do not go away if you leave them alone. Infection can become serious if left untreated. You will need the help of a medical professional and a prescription. Do NOT remove an infected piercing

Please use this guide to help identify the problem you are experiencing so that it can be treated accordingly

And can we please try to use the correct terms when uploading posts. If you are not sure, please ask for help/advice using the existing piercing assistance flair. You will need to upload a CLEAR photo of the problem area so we can help you.

What's a piercing that doesn't actually suit everyone?

My pick would easily be septum. I don't know since when, for the very first facial piercing everyone recommends a septum. When I was figuring out which one to do on myself as the first one, my friend who already had like every imaginable piercing on their face also recommended a septum, because apparently it "suits everyone" and is rather easy to heal and step into the piercing area with it.

I'm not arguing with the second point and I can't judge how easy it is to heal and get used to since I don't have it myself, but what I don't think is true is that it suits everyone. I think it's flexible in a way that there are a lot of options for septum jewelry and you can even hide it easier than most other facial piercings, however I don't think it suits everyone.

I think I witnessed them becoming really popular and common in around 2020, when a lot of people started getting them and many people stopped at just this one piercing on their face. In my opinion they are actually very cute if they suit your features and don't take away the attention from them, especially if paired with other piercings that aren't in your nose. Since a septum is in the very center of your face I've noticed that if a person doesn't have some eye catching features, my attention immediately just goes to the septum and it kinda looks off.

If I had to name a piercing I think actually has the highest chances of suiting most people, it would be an eyebrow piercing or a nostril, even just by themselves they are cute and most likely add to your face rather than take away from it.

I am contemplating getting it right now but I just be staring at my face trying to figure out if it would actually look good and not create that illusion, though I already have an eyebrow, a nostril and vertical labret.

What are your thoughts?

Edit: now that I think about it, a septum actually became huge as a thing. Septum is literally a whole culture now lol and I think it's cool. Like it's one of the first associations when the topic of piercings is brought up around people who aren't very familiar with piercings or millennials/gen x.

But with people who are already into the whole pierced up theme I think it's one of the least often talked about piercings, it became kind of basic because of its popularity that no one glances an eye on it or has questions.

Lowk Scared as Hell...

Hello! I have been thinking about piercing my own nostrils for a little bit just because I'm kinda broke (disabled and full time student, can't really work) and professional piercings cost good money. Unfortunately I have a lot of anxiety and am very very scared...

I have a shitty Amazon piercing kit that I got for crafts and stuff but I'll probably order better needles and jewelry if I decide to do it. I also have a bunch of med issues so I have like sterilization equipment I can use.

Does anybody have any advice? Should I even go for it? Mind you this would be my first self piercing, my double lobes on both sides and my daith were all done professionally. Honestly I'm fine with waiting and getting it done by someone who knows what they're doing, just thought it might be fun to try.

Attaching photos for anatomy purposes, don't even know how to go about picking a spot to be honest, need to do my own research for that lol.

Potential ear stack

I'm looking to buy some jewelry soon as i want to expand my stack(ik it's almost nonexistent rn lol) so i tried some mapping but i can't seem to get the ear on the left right :D. It's as if the earrings can't guide my gaze across the ear so my eyes are just jumping from one to another. Would you mind giving me some suggestions on what should i change to make the placement seem more intentional? The right one is alright, but i don't want them completely symmetrical.

is my piercing rejecting?

i got this peircing in december, the first few months it was fine then it kept getting slightly infected, the first two photos were taken february, before it got infected. the last two photos were taken today. it feels more healed then it had ever been. but the bar is really long, idk if it’s rejecting or if it’s just not swollen? someone help please!

(i know the last photo it looks red but it’s just the lighting i swear 😖)

My septum is peirced a little too low, am I okay to keep it in?

it looks a but silly atm cos I've got a 12 mm horseshoe in but hopefully it'll look a bit better with a 10 or 8mm (I'll wait until fully healed to change It obviously)

My boyfriend did it for me about two weeks ago, it's been healing fine so am I okay to leave it?
