Kia Service Scam🧐

I went through this video of Amit Kilo where he was sharing about how Kia overcharges customers...

Recently I was thinking of getting a car from KIA but now I am sceptical and have second opinions...

What is your opinion? Is it just his personal frustration or a real issue is going on with KIA??

Edit: Context - Amit In this video is ranting about his bad experience at KIA service centre, according to him they forced upon him unnecessary services like pest control price of which were unnecessarily high. He also claims that he has two other cars of Mahindra and maruti and they never do such things.

All in all he criticized Kia as a Korean company which is looting customers and encouraged the viewers to go for Indian cars.

Now I am worried as I am going to have a car and Kia was my number 1 choice.

Is Gravity Grey a good colour for the new Seltos GTX(O) ?

None of the Kia showrooms in Mumbai seem to have a Gravity Grey Seltos available to see in person.

My main concern is whether the gravity grey colour suits the new Seltos’ shape, or if it makes the car look smaller than it actually is. We’re also considering Ivory Silver, but I personally prefer darker colours.

For anyone who has seen the new Seltos in Gravity Grey in person — how does it look, especially in terms of its size, proportions and overall presence? Would you pick it over Ivory Silver?

Want a color that makes the car look the most premium/expensive in.

I'd made a choice- zeroed in on New Seltos GTX (O), made a booking too; and now my brain is trying to find certainty! Looking for inputs from keepers of GTX(O)

Hello proud owners of New Seltos GTX (O) and XLINE O, are you all really happy and content with your pick? Was it THE PERFECT choice?

Does the heads-up-display add any real value? Is it handy? Is it actually a useful amenity or just a luxury indulgence? How about the air Purifier and the Dashcam? Have you felt you could have cut some costs by getting them after-market or are you happy you got them factory-fitted? Do you believe the extra cost of GTX (O) align perfectly with the extra features and their real-world utility? Does your emotional satisfaction greatly outweigh the money spent? Any regrets?

I have a booking for GTX+ (O) 7DCT Petrol. I'm at Delhi and this car would be driven mostly on Highways and fast corridors. No day-to-day city drives. Went for the topmost variant blindly- 'for highway safety'. (For the extra 7 ADAS features, the factory fitted dashcam, and yes the air purifier as well). But now I'm debating if I should step down to GTX+ (A) and then get a dashcam and air-purifier retrofitted The on-road price difference between the two is 1.8 Lakhs here and I'm not sure if I'd ever be using even half of the features.

I'm torn between O and A. (Not considering any other trim or variant). Should I stick with O or do I make a switch to A ? Please tell me if the close to) 2 lakhs extra you spent on GTX(O) was worth it or not!

Difference in claims for direct insurer policy vs dealer issued policy

A lot of people go with dealer insurance because of the “easy/hassle-free claims” thing. That’s what the salesmen say anyway, right?

But one thing people often miss is that the surveyor is appointed by the insurer, and they’re the ones who assess the damage and decide what gets approved.

So if you buy ICICI insurance directly from ICICI vs buying the same ICICI policy through a dealer, the claim experience shouldn’t suddenly be different just because you bought it from the dealer.

And yes, the ASC/dealer is still there to help with the claim process and handling regardless of where you bought the policy from.

So what should you actually look at when buying insurance with a new car?

Two things mainly:

1. The price the dealer is offering.

2. What exactly is included in the quote - which insurer, IDV, and which add-ons.

Don’t just compare the final premium. Ask for the actual quote and check what you’re paying for.

And to be safe, check the insurer’s own cashless garage list as well. That way you know whether the ASC/dealer you’ll be using is actually cashless with that particular insurer.

Dealer insurance isn't always bad. Just don’t assume it’s automatically better because the salesman says “claims are hassle-free.”

Seltos htx colour.

Hi everyone! I’m planning to buy my first car, and we’ve finally finalized the Kia Seltos HTX IVT. 🚗

However, I’m still confused about the colour! 😅

Some days I’m completely convinced about Morning Haze, while other days I feel a dark colour would look better.

Since the HTX comes with a light-coloured interior, I’d love to hear from someone who owns an HTX about how the different exterior colours look in real life and how easy they are to maintain.

Would really appreciate some opinions/photos to help me make up my mind! 🙏

Buyers remorse after booking Brezza Zxi For 13.5

Hi all,

First time car buyer and new learner. I wanted a simple hasslefree car. Hence booked Brezza after researching for 3 months.

But the thing is, i am getting buyers remorse now. Could I have gone for seltos by spending 1 or 2 lakh more ? That car looks pretty. And Brezz's interior is Meh.

Is the feeling common after buying one ???

Here’s what happens if you don’t take zero dep

This is my own story.

It does feel different when someone from the industry ignores zero dep. I didn’t take zero dep because we had barely claimed anything, the car was getting older, it was/is mainly city driven and I thought it wasn’t really worth paying extra for it.

Then one day out of the blue the car got crashed into a divider.

The front right side was damaged, including suspension parts like the lower arm and ball joint, and the bumper had a crack.

Garage quote was around ₹19k.

We ended up paying around ₹7k out of pocket.

Not too bad.

But it got me thinking that if zero dep is only a few thousand more, it can be worth having when something goes wrong. But if you’re comfortable paying the depreciation out of pocket later (like me), then basic coverage can be perfectly fine too.

There’s no right or wrong here.

It entirely depends on the amount of risk you’re comfortable taking and whether you want to shift that risk to the insurer for ₹X more in premium.

Simple.

2022 Kia Seltos ex Premium

My 2022 Kia Seltos ex Premium is very low km car around 34000 km. Has anyone tried adding an extended warranty using Kia Protect for an additional 5 years-in Ontario? If so, what has your experience been like in terms of cost availability’s ease of getting? I had a quote from Kia Queensway in Toronto but it was over $5k and that works out to be nearly 26% of the value of what they offered to buy the car from me! I need advice thanks
