I’m Thinking to book the Kia Seltos HTK(O) Petrol IVT in Morning Haze. I chose the IVT to avoid DCT heating and Diesel DPF issues, but I need the brutal truth from actual owners on these 4 things:

Rattles & Ride: Does the stiff suspension cause the hard plastic interior trim to squeaks and rattle on broken roads? Or does it cause any inconvenience in real life.

IVT Roar: How annoying is the engine screaming (rubber-band effect) when you floor it to overtake?

Real Mileage: What is your honest fuel economy in heavy, bumper-to-bumper city traffic? Is it really 8–10 km/l?

AC Performance: Does the AC struggle to cool the cabin efficiently under direct afternoon sunlight?

Did Seltos Price Increased 50k in from Oct 2026 ?...what is best budget vfm now for manual and IVT

Hi Everyone,

My friend purchased the Xline about 6 months ago and we’ve clocked 10k where I’ve driven about 3-4K.

I love the car and I’m getting it in the next few months. I also faced a glaring issue with the car - not sure if it’s specific to the unit or it’s a Seltos issue.

Mumbai - Kudal - Calangute - Palolem - Karwar and return. (Around 1700km including internal runs over 4 days). I’ll start with the bad because that’s what I need inputs on and people usually don’t read long posts

The Bad:

1. I faced a glaring issue (which I need inputs on because it’ll affect my decision to get the Seltos) which I was able to reproduce multiple times on this trip and on a previous one to Malshej ghat. At around as low as 50-60kmph, if you’re at a curve and driving on a rumbler, you end up losing the rear tyre. If you’re turning right, the moment the rear wheels hit the rumbler, the car slides to the left by a couple of inches. You don’t lose control as such, but it is very obvious and makes you lose confidence. Mind you, these are the rumblers created using a thick layer of paint and not the asphalt/concrete ones. Has anyone faced this issue?
   The tyres are stock, nitrogen filled to the suggested pressure, we tried with both ESC on and off. This is a big issue to me. My suspicion is the suspension, but will discuss during the service center visit.

2. The AC button comes very close to my left knee, so I end up increasing temperature at times. It’s not an issue as such, but it’s a little irritating.

3. Lack of a cooled glovebox - I don’t know why this feature wasn’t introduced in such a richly feature loaded car.

4. The headlights feel underpowered. There were times when I was pushing the stick to shift to high beam, only to realise that I’m already on high beam.

5. The wipers are just bad. My friend had replaced those, but still they weren’t great.

6. While the driver seat moves back during egress, it doesn’t move all the way back. (Let me know if there’s a way to configure it)

The Good:

1. The connected car features to turn on the AC while you go for a hike/beach walk and return back is a life saver.

2. The comfort and ventilated seats are top notch. We covered the final 600 odd km with 3-4 short breaks in 10ish hours and I didn’t break a sweat.

3. The DCt is fun to drive and produces surprising numbers. We typically drove in 100km segments and there were a couple of sections where we managed to get 18kmpl. The least we saw was 11kmpl. For the power that the car offers, the mileage is incredible.

4. The driving dynamics are excellent, the steering responsive, the suspension a little stiff for my liking, but still great.

5. The steering weighs up based on the driving mode (unsure if it’s actually that way or it’s just the way I felt). Love the grunt of the engine on Sport mode.

6. The car is a head turner for sure. So many people came to me and asked me about the car, how it drives, the mileage, etc.

I’d really appreciate it if someone can help me out with the steering/sliding issue on rumblers. It’s momentary and doesn’t feel dangerous, but it does put a dent on the confidence. That’s the only thing holding me back from making a down payment.
