First time buyer - seeking advice on fixing fabric excess

First time buyer - seeking advice on fixing fabric excess

Hello Everyone, I’ve recently bought my first pair of selvedge denim and i’m looking for some tips on how to deal with an issue I have encountered with my new pair.

During my recent trip to Japan I made it over to the legendary Hinoya store and bought a pair of their in house denim, the specific model is the Burgus Plus - 1928 Cinch Back 928. Now while trying out different models in the dark changing room and being a bit overstimulated by the crowded environment I did not notice that the pair had some excess fabric bunching up in the back causing some unflattering creases. The sales assistant helping me also never brought it up and recommended that specific pair as being the most flattering so I naively ended up going for that one.

Is there anything I can do to get rid of this? I know from some research that this specific pair is modeled after older denim and that it will never have that “modern” structured look so I do not expect miracles.

I’ve only worn the pair once since getting it because i’m worried that I’ll get some ugly fades from it. It also, in my opinion, doesn’t look very flattering.

I have asked ChatGPT for some advice and it suggested I give the denim a cold soak to soften the fabric and manually stretch out the area while it’s still wet to try to get rid of the folds. It also suggested that over time it might just go away by itself, however as a total novice i’m a bit hesitant to trust the clankers advice.

Thank you so much in advance to everyone for sparing any time and advice to help me out :)

Wash or wait?

I’ve worn these nudies like three or four times a week since August last year and never washed them. I expected faster fades when I got them to be honest. But now I’m impatient and want the contrast, question is if I will regret it if I wash them already. I don’t know what to expect as a result. Would you keep wearing these or wash them as they are right now?

And no, I promise, they don’t smell.

21oz ub red weft, 8 months, 3rd wash

Bought these jeans about 8 months ago, I’ve been using them as a daily pair. These are the ub red weft wide straight. I’ve Been Wearing these about 5 times week for 6 months. These are not my first ub, I love their build quality and prices. I wish they would release unique jeans more often. I have also bought their 22oz, 21oz black and 21oz indigo over the past years.
Love heavy weight denim, I live in Canada and winters become quite cold, having thick denim keeps me isolated with some underpants, all while being swagged out for winter!
I wore these cuffed with a red belt more often than not, didn’t want to get them all salty and dirty dragging in the streets of Montreal. Now that the snow is gone I’ve recently decided to start helping the city of Montreal and clean the floors, all while letting the heal bite grow. Can’t wait to see what these look like 2-3 years down the line.
Go get them while you still can.

Looking for very specific jeans

I imagine its probably best to get a commission, but just incase before I do - anyone know any pants that fit this criteria generally? I'm 6'1 and wear a 34-33" waist for reference: Highrise [13-14"], wide leg [10"ish hem], 34-36" inseam, 18oz+ selvedge, and suspender buttons. I basically want to replicate my carhartt b11s but with a slightly wider leg [1ish extra inch in hem] and of course in heavy selvedge. And if yall know any good artists that offer commissions in the UK that'd be great. Thanks

Please help, Looking for tips to improve shape and sizing.

These are Edwin SKEwed 201 One Pocket pants size 32 (that’s my size for all jeans I have). I’m seeking advice on how I could make the shape to have more a balloon fit so that it stops scrunching up so much in the crotch region. These are high rise and I am wearing them like so (top button on the jeans sits right on top of belly button).
I have not washed these jeans yet and am considering it. If I should wash them, should I soak just the top block in hot water? Should I throw into washing machine?
(I really like the width of the pants except the upper part has a bad fit).

Thank you!

Happy 62nd anniversary to Nicks and congratulations for 25k subscribers on reddit!

Although I have many pairs of boots, these are currently my favorites. I chose to also highlight some of the jeans I currently have in rotation as well as a couple of belts.

Boots are: Nicks mto 55 last in Seidel Roughshot Black and White's Farmer Rancher (rebuilt by Nicks with 1964 brown)

Belts are: Nicks classic work belt in 1964 tan and Unmarked embroidered lucky belt

Jeans are: Naked and Famous Natural Indigo Selvedge in Super Guy, Naked and Famous Elephant 7 'El Diablo' in Wierd Guy, and Brave Star WWII Blue in Mojave Western.

Any Bravestar Mojave Western Cut owners, how is the fit and the fades?

Bought to pull the trigger on a pair of these. I like the cut (some say they’re similar to Wrangler Cowboy Cuts which I love), and am curious on the fit. Also if anyone has any fades I’d appreciate that too. As well if anyone has purchased the new Witness Cone Mills line, and what they are exactly?

Fullcount

A good friend of mine just recently took a trip to Japan and asked me if I wanted anything. My words verbatim “hold off on the matcha kits and grab me some denim” he delivered. 🤝 👖
