r/Severitus

Hi! I would like to read a Severitus Fanfic with very well written characters. I’ve recently fallen into the Severitus fandom after reading The Missing Sister during my Dramione obsession, and now I’m desperately searching for a really good fic.

I’ve always loved Snape as a character, so I’m looking for something where he actually starts out very canon-compliant: bitter, cold, sarcastic, the full dungeon bat experience. I don’t want him suddenly becoming soft or fatherly out of nowhere. What I really want is a slow, believable progression where, against his better judgment, he gradually grows attached to Harry over time.

I’d also love for Harry to stay in character too, guarded, reluctant to trust, not immediately opening up. I want the relationship development to feel earned and logical based on how they are in canon. Eventually I do want Harry to confide in Snape, especially regarding abuse/neglect/trauma, but only after a long buildup.

A few things I’m specifically hoping for:

- long fic

- complete fic (this is a must)

- very well-written characterization

- Snape still deeply affected by Lily / carrying that grief and memory with him

- emotional realism

- family dynamic by the end

- Voldemort actually defeated, with a genuinely happy ending afterward

- bonus points if Draco is involved somehow, but not necessary

I don’t mind darker themes as long as they’re handled well. I mainly just want something beautifully written that really understands both Snape and Harry as characters.

Severitus fic where harry is a first yr and sorted in slytherin. I think hes quite isolated from the other snakes and pushed aside, i beleive cause of his rivalry w draco. There is a plot twist where harry has blackout phases/amnesia because ⚠️ >! He is repressing the fact the an older slytherin student is sexually assaulting him !< . ⚠️

I beleive draco >! catches the assault while its happening or when harry is having a panic attack after and !< calls Snape to help.

I can't remember which sites it was nor if it was finished or not but I think it was mainly set in first yr. I also think the drac&harry rivalry was more one-sided as harry felt more alone and was mainly to do w dracos jealousy over harry w quidditch and harry chosing Ron over him on the train.
