THE SINS OF ALLIE-MAY; Plaything of Men by Albert L. Quandt, Quarter Books #75, 1950, cover art by Howell Dodds OR Rudy Nappi

When I read "illustrated", I figured artwork like the cover. How wrong I was! There's photos in there, albeit on the modest side (two are attached).

Enjoy!

THE PASSIONATE PRINCESS by Jack Woodford, Avon Bedside Novel 6, 1951 (?), cover artist unidentified

Another one of the stapled paperbacks I recently picked up. Convoluted publishing history on this one, as shown in the last photo. And I'd love to know who the artist is - I think that cover is outstanding.

Enjoy!

THE WENCH IS WILLING by Griffith James, Lev Gleason Library 103, 1949, cover artist unidentified

The publisher of this book is actually better known for its work in comics than in paperbacks and was also notable because its founder (Lev Gleason) was an actual communist.

Enjoy!

NAUGHTY BLONDE by Florence Stonebraker, Cameo Books 304, 1951, cover art by Rudy Nappi

Recently picked up a number of books in what is for me a new format. About 5.5 inches wide and 7.5 inches tall with a rounded binding. Of course the content is familiar 😁

Enjoy!
