Help with a hinge

Here is my print in place hinge. It needs to work at only 180 and 90 degrees. How can I make it feel like it “stops” at those two angles? I’ve opened hinges that seem to have a catch but this one doesn’t. Any help is appreciated! I’m in Shapr3D printing on ABS but could print on other types too.

Best app for creating 3d models

Now am still learning how to make models (from YouTube video, if that’s not the best any recommendation?) yet I don’t know which app is the best for beginners to start with any recommendations?

How to make my wall longer?

I made this model too short and I’m trying to figure out how to extend the wall out farther. Every time I try it I get an error the model is invalid if I do it. I tried selecting outerwall and inner behind it, I tried also clicking on the rounded edges too, I can’t click the top of the wall because the entire top gets selected. I‘m newbie 3 days into learning. Any help would be really great here.

Inquiry regarding creating bolt holes

Hello everyone,
What is the most efficient method to model a bolt hole (or screw boss) on an arbitrary surface within the application? Alternatively, is there a standard parts library or an add-in available for this specific purpose?

Low resolution exports and prints in the free version of Shapr3d?

As a pure hobbyist just wanting to initially design 2 or 3 things and then maybe something every few months. How good is the FDM print quality of the low resolution exports of the free version of Shapr3d? Does anyone have any pictures of low quality prints next to the high quality print?

Should I get the free version and learn to use it well and then get the $32.99 version a couple times a year and just design the few prints I want that month?

Thanks

Something new - Weekly Modeling Challenge

We’re launching something we’ve been quietly building for a while.

Starting June 29, we’re running the Weekly Modeling Challenges, a weekly series of modeling tasks designed to be first fun to work through, and second useful for building your skills in the app.

Season 1 kicks off today, with Batch 1: Parametric Sketching. Five challenges, one per week.

Prizes:
3Dconnexion SpaceMouse + giftable Shapr3D subscription + exclusive merch and digital community badge

The first task is live! Create a parametric model of a triquetra. The model must be controlled by two independent driving parameters (variables). By modifying these two driving parameters, the model must transition from State A to State B without breaking constraints, inverting, or producing errors.

Easiest way to create this shape.

I need to make frames in different sizes for these pieces. What would be the easiest way to create this so it can be resized proportionately?

Help needed for recreating a highly detailed 3D expanded metal sheet design.

Hi everyone, this is the expanded 3D sheet, I want to create a high quality & realistic 3D pattern file.

https://preview.redd.it/d6rdu4y348ah1.png?width=722&format=png&auto=webp&s=7bf783a6480dff5d1cfd76739cd718464c1dfb5a

Image 2 - is an example of what I created, but this is wrong, it is even more complex than this one.

Image 3 - is some details on how it the curves and straight lines are in the real product.

It doesn’t look like hexagonal in real life. its more curved like an eye.

Im new in Shaper 3D, I use little bit of Blender - in blender I can mimic this flex, but it wont be mathematically correct.

can anyone help me build this?

Shapr3D solo plan

I’ve seen that Shapr3D has added a solo tier to their subscription options, but can’t figure out how to get it, can anyone let me know how to get it or if you can get it yet? Thank you in advance.

Need help! I’ve never seen this in my years of cad

I modeled this tank separately and saved it as an .step but when I try importing it comes out as a shell with one face missing. Has this ever happened to anyone else? And any troubleshooting ideas?

Need help.

Hey y’all, I just bought myself a 3D printer and I’ve been dabbling a bit with shapr3D to learn how to draw models.

On my first design I was wondering if the fact that these are two different pieces stuck together would create a weak point in the print or does not matter.

Would it be better to make it in a single piece by just extruding everything from a cylinder ?
