Hi guys. I will be there in Shillong next month for two weeks. I will on a sort of workation but will have a few days off plus weekends to roam around the city. In the second week I'll probably visit some other parts of Meghalya.

Can you help by suggesting some of the dorm accommodations in Shillong for the first week and a rough itinerary for the two weeks to visit places? A bed in a dorm works for me. From what I have read LaitumKhrah seems like a good place to stay.

Also what are the options to reach the city from airport?

A bit about myself- I am 33 (M) from Kerala currently working in Bangalore.

Christmas is big thing in Kerala. I heard the same for Shillong also, so just wanted to experience it. Is December a good time to visit Shillong ? Would the weather be too harsh ? How would be the Christmas festivities ? What are the authentic native delicacies not to be missed ?

While booking accommodation, which area would be best ? I am looking for something laidback and peaceful.

Need honest opinions about St. Anthony’s College Shillong, especially B.Sc Biotechnology. I’m from Assam and have applied there this year. I want real student opinions about the overall environment — crowd, teachers, discipline/rules, attendance pressure, behaviour of faculty, campus life, fests, and whether the atmosphere is actually good or overhyped.

How is the Biotechnology department specifically in terms of labs, teaching quality and opportunities? Also, as someone from Assam, will adjusting to Shillong/Meghalaya student culture be difficult or is the environment welcoming for outsiders?

Please give honest reviews, including negatives if any. I’d rather know the reality before taking admission.

Why is everyone obsessed with the foreign influencers here in Shillong? Many people support their channels more than they support the local ones. They go crazy for each n every little thing they do.

I got 89 percent in my boards I had 5 subs Physical education, Political science, geography, English core. I wanna do BA Geography honours what college should I apply to from these 2, I am student from Rajasthan and how much cuet score would I need to get into any one ts College and I wanna know what choice is better

Hi, I applied for BA Political Science at St. Anthony’s College, Shillong under the non-CUET category based on merit marks. I passed Class 12 from NBSE board with around 81.6% and got distinction in all subjects.
Our principal (father) told us we could apply without CUET too, so I did that and already paid the application/admission payment on 5 May. But till yesterday the portal was still showing my payment status as “Pending” and only today it finally got updated.
So I just wanted to ask seniors/students:
- Is 81.6% okay for BA Pol Science there under non-CUET?
- Will the delayed payment status update affect my admission in any way?
- Does anyone know how to contact the HOD/department😭

Would really appreciate any help/advice from current students 🙏

How saturated is the candle market currently in Shillong? I'm considering entering the candle-making or candle-selling business and would like to understand the level of competition.

Thought of doing competitive exams, but honestly studying at congested PG won't be comfortable for me. Is there any Library in Shillong where I can visit everyday.

We might be shifting to Shillong in the beginning of August, need a 2BHK apartment with a view within 25-30K near Silvan house ( forest secretariat) , preferably new construction with elevator facility and 24x7 water supply.

Please let me know if this is doable?

I've looked up flights (21 June btw) and currently I have 2 options:

1. Del-Shl : Roughly 8.5-9k for flight plus stay for one night and cab to IIMS the next day.
2. Del-Guw : Roughly 6k for flight, taxi to Shillong, stay for one night and cab to IIMS the next day.

I guess it all comes down to how much I need to pay for the taxi/cab from Guwahati Airport to Shillong city (which will most probably be PB area?). Is it expensive enough to get a ticket to Shillong directly?

It'd be great if you could help me out with some info regarding the prices too, and the best practices for getting the lowest prices on my way there.

Hi there good folks of shillong, I am moving to shillong soon & am looking to rent a 1bhk AWAY from the crowded areas, preferably on the outskirts. Is that safe to do? Also how much should I expect to pay? Anything else I should be aware of before moving in? Any pointers are really appreciated. Thank you! :)
