Monet & AI Usage
I’m beginning to find it hard to enjoy Sibling Rivalry content and Monet’s separate content because it feels like she doesn’t care about generative AI usage. As an aside-I know Bob accidentally used an AI poster for a tour promotion a while ago and took full accountability/removed it/commissioned new artists and I’m not involving him in this at all. There was a moment on a podcast a few months ago where Naomi was co-hosting with Monet and someone mentioned that a picture or a song was AI and they both said “Who cares?” and laughed, which left a bad taste in my mouth. Now there’s a big obvious AI graphic being used for The Mo You Know. It just feels so disappointing, especially knowing how disproportionately generative AI is affecting black and brown communities and their safe water supply in the country. It wouldn’t be as frustrating if Bob and Monet weren’t extremely vocal on all other things political (and this is certainly a political issue with the data centers and what they’re funding/creating). I’ve been a cool auntie for a while now but it’s hard continuing to support if that’s what it’s going to. I just wanted to know if anyone else is feeling as fatigued with their favorite creators choosing to take the lazy route with AI.
