Was I playing sigma wrong?

Recently I had a comp game on Dorado. The entire game a mercy pocketed soldier basically ran the whole lobby. I asked my DPS multiple times to swap to a dive to be able to put some pressure on him (they were basically bastion and soj all match) but they said it’s my job and I have to keep my shield on him. Mind you I also had to deal with a Mauga the entire time as well. Was he right that I’m playing sig wrong?

Help me get gm.

Howdy. Im a rein/mauga player in high master. Im good at most of the roster, but that's not going to cut it anymore. I want to expand my skill set, and i figured if i get some basic skills required to be a better sig my life will be easier.

I have figured which perks go for which situations. But who do i try to rock? Do i just spam choke like a chud junkrat? How the hell do i ult effectively?

Pretty basic stuff for sigma players, but I have not figured this stuff out quite yet
