An ALL-NEW episode of the Beyond Thundera Podcast drops TONIGHT, July 2nd at 9PM EDT!

Long before convention appearances, nostalgia documentaries, and social media, ThunderCats was brought to life in arenas across America through ThunderCats Live, one of the most ambitious and least documented productions in franchise history.

In this episode, Marty Almaraz joins us for his first-ever interview to share what it was like portraying Tygra, Buzzsaw, and multiple other characters in the legendary touring show. Marty takes us behind the scenes of a production that featured elaborate costumes, aerial stunts from the world-famous Flying by Foy company, roller-skating performers, and even a sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden.

Marty also reflects on his remarkable journey beyond ThunderCats Live, from his early days as a performer to building a successful career as a professional chef, including time working at one of Chef Bobby Flay's restaurants in Las Vegas.

For those in the know -- Wave 6 of Super7's SilverHawks included four "toy color" figures as well as a bonus Super Pack of alternate head sculpts. But I'm confused about Bluegrass. It appears that his figure came packaged with a smirking/winking alternate head, but that exact same head (as far as I can tell) is also in the Super Pack. Can anyone confirm, or are these two heads different in some way (see pics).

In this fascinating conversation, Jim shares how a young artist with big dreams landed at Rankin/Bass, working on ThunderCats, SilverHawks, and The Comic Strip. He reflects on his early influences, his time at Hanna-Barbera, meeting Jules Bass, and what it was like creating characters during one of animation's most memorable eras.
