Simple automated settlement building

Hey guys so just like the title says, just bare city building automation without performance issues or CTD, no beauty or massive capital cities, nothing just building settlements with all of it's necessary needs and stuff, any suggestions? mods, setting, tweaks etc.

I (don’t) have Wood… but would love some! (And copper too)

Hey all! Just started an SS2 playthrough for the first time, and so far I’m absolutely loving it!! I think I’m nearing the end of the Chapter One missions, so I've made decent progress.

Right now I’m really struggling to keep up with the wood and copper demands of my settlements though. I’m playing on survival, so I went with the default SS2 difficulty settings, so I’m managing each category of resources at the component level.

A few points to help give some context:

- I have a good mix of factories at all but one of my settlements. I’m producing building supplies, organics, and machine parts.
- I have three lumber mills to convert my excess steel into wood
- I’ve bought all the wood priority shipments from my lvl 3 caravans. I went through 3k wood in a matter of a single in-game day! But now they are out of priority shipments of wood.
- I have their trading set to receive shipments of both copper and wood
- My charisma isn’t very high, so my settlement cap is 14.
- I have 9 settlements (sanctuary, Abernathy, zimonja, taffington, oberland, starlight drive in, grey garden, hangman’s & sunshine tidings). I didn’t build at Red Rocket so as not to overload that area and risk crashing.
- My typical build strategy in a new settlement is settling, then setting up a caravan station first, then getting 2 farms, a watershed, and a power plant. Then I build factories and a few shops. I typically will build my house plots so they are ready for new settlers.
- Most of my settlements have factories, but Starlight Drive-In is all shops as my commerce hub, and hangman’s alley I gave to those NPCs, so it’s on autopilot with a mayor.

But no matter what, my settlements are just sucking down way more wood and copper than I can keep up with, despite my scavenging and spending tons of caps on shipments.

Am I missing something, easily? This is my first time playing SS2, so I’m sure I’ve missed something vital; I just can’t believe my settlements gobbled up 3k wood in a single day…

Any advice from you vets out there?

Edit 1: Fixed some typos

Edit 2: Not sure why it's downvoted? I don't have any spoilers; I gave a lot of detail in my question, and I think the post follows all the rules. Did I mess something up?

Does the Mod still Work?

Hello! I have not used the mod in well over two years now and have been itching to complete the story. In using Nexus Mods, does this mod still load correctly and work alright? Does it work okay with other mods?

Last time I played, I was almost done with Ch. 2 when one object I needed would not load in. I loved the story so very much and have time again to play.

Thanks!

Unique settlers

If I become enemies with a faction, will a faction specific setter say the bos guy who wants to make a library, are they going to leave/get mad?

Oh, Old Paul

I may seem strange or overemotional when you read this but I have always had a knack for the elderly. I was always taught to be kind and to respect my elders. That's stuck with me and is going to forever until I am the elder. After the storage expansion for Xbox I decided I was gonna try Sim Settlements out for the first time. I never would've thought a Fallout 4 mod would bring tears to my eyes until now. I was already saddened by Amos. I had a great grandpa named Amos and I was lucky enough to see him until I was 12. I took it for granted and I still wish to this day I visited him in the hospital and talked to him more. I hoped Amos would live and I could speak to him in Sanctuary. Then there was Old Paul. He's not much, a little annoying but something about that white hair and that raspy voice places him in a caring and loving part in my heart. When I heard him on that radio I hoped it wasn't going to happen but I knew it would. I found him laying with Cola looking peaceful and my eyes started to tear up. I dropped everything I was planning on doing and went on a 45 minute walk carrying him to Sanctuary. He just gave me his rifle he said he made, my uncle Tom used to make some like that before he went. He started rambling about making a gun shop for the settlement and I was planning on finding a spot to make it. I think his fate hits close to home for me. My grandpa runs a sewing machine business and I help with marketing and some small work he ain't able to do anymore. I got his business on Google maps and it's helping people find it, just as things are looking good he has a stroke. I could've downloaded a mod to resurrect Old Paul but that's not his fate. A old scavver finally settling down and giving his life for those who don't know him. He's resting in the dirt of the home he helped build, the one he chose. Rest in Peace Old Paul, I'm sorry I couldn't help. The grave ain't much but in my defense it's 5am and I'm tired as hell.

[Steamdeck] Game crashes on settlement visit

Like the title says, when I visit several of my settlements, like Starlight for example, the game just crashes. I’m really enjoying everything about SimSettlements 2 besides this, so if there’s a way to prevent this beyond simply not using settlement plans, I’m all ears. I really was hoping not to have to worry about doing any settlement building. Seems ideal for playing on the Steamdeck, but it’s too problematic at the moment. Thanks

Preperation for Chapter 3

Recently, I have read a post about the potential problems with sims settlements 2: Chapter 3. Truthfully speaking, the main thing I'm really concerned about is that the gunners would take some of your settlements during one of the missions

I'm not too keen on the idea of having my armed fortified settlements taken away, and i have to destroy them to take them back

So far in my current playthrough, the settlements that i have in my control are the ones in the upper portions of the map

Is there a way to minimize the damage I would receive when the particular mission arrives?

such as taking a bunch of unclaimed settlements and leaving them untouched, making it empty in hopes of gunners taking them

I have an idea(I’m saying this because apparently the title isn’t long enough and I need to make it more detailed so here you go:))

If anyone has played sim settlements you know that you have the ability to construct say a small military but sadly in terms of customizing that military it is very limited with the only uniforms your allowed to pick for your soldiers being the vanilla ones which is some what of a problem considering the only uniforms that are actually made for military use is worn on the gunners which if you know the story of sim settlements you can see how that’s a problem and not only that but you can’t really pick what guns they use either except for if you donate a Weapon of your own which you probably don’t want to do because you probably use said weapon and it might even be your favorite and after doing a lot of thinking I have come up with an idea on how to make it so that not only can we use whatever we want for our soldiers but also we could even use armor mods so basically it goes a little something like this let’s say you want to customize your uniform when you want to do that you can build a mannequin but not just any mannequin the uniform mannequin basically whatever you put on it clothes, weapons, food, drinks, etc will be a part of the uniform of your troops and you can also decide if you want just the soldiers from the base you built it on will wear it in the case they will become own unit/regiment (which you can give a custom name or you can have them numbered instead)or if you want your entire military to wear that as well so is it possible to get this as a addon pack potentially pls?
(This is a concept that I thought of and I am not capable of making mods per say so I myself cannot make it and I’m mentioning this because I saw someone asking me for my PayPal and it made me slightly nervous)
