Swan Song
(Spoiler, if this is too long for you: TEAM17 has revealed itself as abandonware. Give them money at your own risk.) You will forgive me for the content within. I have just awoken. Had a wonderful afternoon planned. Was gonna get a cup of coffee, hit my morning vape, and go solo diving to throw some numbers on the main order. But like all good plans, that has now fallen to shit. So... And Jimmy, I am gonna be pretty hateful to TEAM17 moving forward. I want it noted that personally, I like you as a person and think you have done a satisfactory job in your role here. With the platitudes out of the way, however... Moving forward, we must all take the one lesson learned from this experience: TEAM17 is basically abandonware. It is what it is. It's not any one person's fault. I am sure this decision was made by someone who won't ever even see this critique and does not understand the implications of this. It's unfortunate that the dev team, the Piraknights, are also now going to be marred by this. They will change handles, I am sure, and probably change companies. You won't see another release from the Piraknights moving forward. And if you do, if it has anything to do with TEAM17, I would ignore it. I've gotten a couple of messages asking me if I intend to continue the very basic work I have done with some modding. I do not have any intention of doing so. I am a gamer. The mods I made were quality of life for me. I have neither the time nor the will to fix the game, especially in light of this "update." TBH, I think me and Anatoly both kinda saw this coming. If you can see our game history, you can see that I have not played Sintopia since September.
So in closing, thanks to the Piraknights for developing a groundbreaking management game. I wish they had picked a better publisher to sell it to, but it's too late for that now. TEAM17, you will never get any more of my money. As I said, this isn't personal toward anyone I have ever had contact with (well, maybe Cristobal). I now have to update my reviews everywhere. Delete my video content (no big loss, but I will probably be changing gaming tags again soon and don't want it following me). Thanks for wasting my summer. I could have done literally anything other than be walked out on by a subpar publishing company run by shortsighted spreadsheet/graph jockeys.
