This feels deliberate...

Why in the Elder's green grass do I have to buy a Face accessory I don't want just to get the mask. It's normally a Spell so this just feels disappointing.

Guess I'm not buying the mask, even if it's pretty cool~ 😔

Griefing in Golden Wasteland

I don't normally post, but after a few months of playing, I wanted to give my experience as a warning to others and also as a STRAIGHT UP VENT BECAUSE I'M STILL SEETHING.

FOR CONTEXT, I saw the crab call spirit was in the Crab Fields of GW from a video, so I went there the other day to try to finish it.

Okay, no biggie. I was never afraid of the krills before this, just found them cool and generally avoided them if I could. I'm very much not a good flier in Sky, especially with the slower controls of PC, so krill dodging or playing with them has always been a fun idea, but that's it: a fun idea.

There were a few other players in the area when I arrived and started leading the spirit, but I hadn't thought much of it. Honking either to get the crabs flipped over or to check that everyone else is okay.

BUT THEN I saw some other Skykids losing their winged light after being hit by a krill, so I'd drop it a few times to go and help them. Seemed like newer players with less winged light, so I'd charge them up, make sure they were okay, then I was back to the Crab Call spirit. Things seemed normal, but two Skykids with higher winged light were lingering near the boat.

LITTLE DID I KNOW, these two seemed like the culprits for all this.

It started when I was on the upper deck of the boat dragging the spirit. The krill was on the complete other side, but then one of the Skykids flew over, got in its radar, and then deliberately flew to ME.

I thought it was an accident at first (lord knows I get how panic-inducing it can be and you just sometimes don't realize another Skykid's in your escape path), so I just hid and they got hit instead. Their friend helped gather their winged lights, then they flew back up to the pole.

This happened a second time, so I just hit the dark dragon repellant and the krill got them instead again. By that point I was already thinking "No way, right? Every Skykid I've met so far has been so nice, there's no way there's griefing in a game like this", but I kid you not, this happened 4 times and the 4th attempt got me to lose 5 WL. Only managed to get 3.

I know that's not a big deal to others, but I was more pissed that ok, yeah, there are griefers in Sky. And deliberately still targeting players with less WL, or preventing them from completing spirits just for the hell of it.

It could be fun with friends, but we're all greyed out Skykids to one another in this area. The moths I'd helped just left after these 2 players krilled them so I hope they weren't let down by the experience.

I've always loved Golden Wasteland for the breadth of the lore it has, the spirits, even the krills. I'm still not scared of krills, but now I AM scared of the other players who are sticking around and might intentionally lead them to me or another Skykid. It's frustrating!! And if you have fun at the expense of others in a game like this, man, why can't you keep it to your friends? Why target anons? The joke's not funny if you're the only one laughing.

Sorry for the long rant, but TLDR; beware of Skykids you see just sitting on the pole of the ship in GW Crab Fields. They might be looking for another unknowing victim for their little "prank."

Official merchandise quality issue. After two weeks, a large hole on my $60 manatee plush has just appeared for no reason

I can fix it by myself and luckily stuffing is holding inside tight, but I think it is still not acceptable for something very expensive.

Guy tried to rage on me

I called him out for making unnecessary rants on people just trying to afk in the game, he literally hosts livestreams to go in and report people's accounts because they're....sitting still at Granny. And he got very upset resorting to trying to insult my content and making borderline homophobic comments too😮bully get bullied lol

Why can’t we dye the blue part?

This is my favorite cape but it dyes horribly. You can only dye the bottom portion (which I dyed black). The top portion of the cape has this ugly blue gradient which makes it hard to match with anything and it takes up 50% of the cape.

Seriously why? Why can’t TGC just update their cosmetics to allow full dye customization?

I sent Sky a message through their discord about this issue a long time ago but as you can see above, nothing has changed.

Edit: Feel free to take this image and send it through Sky discord. The more people complain the better.

Accessing the shard realms needs to be made easier. Two wing lights away from 13 wings, need them from the shard realms manta and dark dragon

but it’s been forever and a half since it’s shown up. Last Manta memory was 9th April which isn’t the worst, I mean still pretty bad but oh well. Last Dark dragon memory was ON 15TH MARCH.
13 wings aside, accessing the shard realms HAS to be made easier because what even is this schedule.

I hate this thing with all my (brand new) soul

I swear you used to just fly anywhere near it and it would suck you up. Now:

Game: go to the light my child
Me: you mean here?
Game: no, no just over there
Me: here? Wait, I swear I was near it
Game: girl, use your eyes
Me: I am - I just flew through it!
Game: nope. Missed it by a mile
Me: is it moving?!
Game: just walk into it then
Me: am I falling through the floor?!
Game: that’s an illusion caused by the perceived upward motion of the stream dumbass
Me: omg just rapture me already!
Game: wtf - literally everyone else can do this

Just why.

Why do people do this??? Get off your friend's shoulders and stand in front of one of the gates with your candle out and if you're going to handstand make sure you use your candle properly smh.

Sky's Grooming Problem

Note: This has nothing to do with the PredatorxVish/GamingxVishy situation; I just wanted to talk about my own personal grooming experience I had while playing Sky. I was 18 going on 19, and "N" was 22. And yes, adults can groom adults.

During early 2022, I started playing Sky for the first time. I ended up meeting a person who later became my friend and introduced me to their group of friends. They eventually introduced me to their friend "N." She came off as sweet, and we both became fast friends. A couple weeks later of talking with "N," she had proposed the idea of dating each other since she was slowly growing feelings towards me, to which I agreed since I was developing feelings for her as well. It should've bothered me that in only a couple weeks she wanted to start dating. Which is something I blame myself for.

After about one week, "N" had started slowly showing her true colors. "N" started asking very perverted questions and told me stuff she would do to me if we ever met. I didn't tell her that this made me feel uncomfortable because even if it did, I thought this was normal between couples. (Since this was my very first online relationship.)

A week later I eventually tried standing up for myself and told her that what she was telling me made me uncomfortable, to which she apologized for and promised not to bring up dirty stuff with me. It worked for the most part, and I thought she respected my wishes, but after a couple days she went back to making suggestive comments and sex acts she wanted to try with me. It got to the point that our conversations would slowly shift into sexting for the next couple of weeks, which I still was uncomfortable with.

I stood up for myself again, telling her that I didn't like the way she was talking to me and how she was talking about my body, to which she apologized again. Every time I told her to stop it seemed to go in one ear and out the other. Eventually I stopped because I figured that this was just her sense of humor. (This is called boundary testing and it is most often used by groomers where they gradually test the limits of what a vulnerable person is comfortable with, often through inappropriate jokes or physical contact, to gauge their reaction and determine how far they can manipulate or exploit them.)

There were times where I would be too anxious to open the game again just to bump into her. My heart wasn't beating fast because of love; my heart was beating fast because I was scared. I was scared because no matter what I said, she would easily go against my wishes. And at that point I felt like I didn't matter.

Our relationship ended after I experienced a mental breakdown over everything sexual she made me do to myself. I told her that I had felt miserable being with her, told her how she made me feel like shit and how she had groomed me into thinking that what she was saying to me was okay.

I blocked her on Sky and deleted the app during the season of performance and shattering. Multiple times between 2023 and 2025, I would redownload the game and try playing it again while avoiding certain areas in Sky that brought back trauma. That spark I used to have when first playing it wasn't there anymore, and I have stopped playing entirely. I've been nervous about wanting to share my story for so long, and I'm glad to finally have the chance to.

And the sad part is that "N's" account has not suffered any repercussions or account deletion.

I don't think Skycotl cares about children's safety,Sky is not a safe game for children

I don't know if this is the right topic to write about, but after many years of the events, I still feel angry towards the moderators of sky.. This topic may contain disturbing content and exploitation of minors, so please don't read if it's too much for you. However, I think it raises an important topic.

In 2021, when I was 14, I met a 23-year-old man, and unfortunately, it ended badly.

At first, he was very polite to me and acted normally, but after some time he started behaving more and more strangely. He became jealous of my friends and emotionally manipulated me, saying that he would be sad if I didn’t spend time with him or if I had other friends.

This person then started playfully flirting with me, and eventually he just wrote how much he loved me and basically groomed me.He also asked about my social media, but luckily I didn't give them to him.He kept telling me that our age difference didn't matter because love was stronger. He asked me not to tell anyone about our relationship because it would be ruined and then he would hurt himself, so I was too scared to tell my parents or anyone else. Besides, unfortunately, I believed that he liked me and that he was the only person who loved me. But over time, I only felt worse when he suggested intimate topics, etc., but i was too scared to block him because he told me he's gonna kill himself

My older friend encouraged me to send screenshots of the conversation with this man to the sky moderators, because she explained to me that he was dangerous to me and others. I sent many screenshots that included his age, the fact that he knew about my age, confirmation of the romantic things he wrote to me, and other evidence...

What response did I get from sky? "We're checking his account, we'll take care of this situation." After a month, however, this man was still in the game, without a ban, without muted chat... I send mail to the moderators to ask what was going on, but I never received a response.

It's 2026, I still see this man online sometimes, I no longer write to him or have any contact with him. However, I know he had contact with other minors, and to this day, my heart aches because Sky, which promotes its game as something for children, never helped me. I also feel guilt because I know I didn't manage to do anything to help other victims of this man. I apologize if this post is too sad,I have no one to share this with, and I'm still struggling with the trauma from that time.Sorry for any mistakes, if any appear, my main language is not English

EDIT: Reading the comments in this post and others, I noticed that unfortunately I'm not the only person who has never received help from the Skycotl moderators, and some cases seem to be swept under the rug and banning victims. It's terrible, but maybe it makes us aware that we're the only ones who can help other victims. If you have younger friends, talk to them and make sure they haven't fallen victim. If you encounter such a situation, try to help and explain to the victim what's happening. Not everyone has parents who will educate them on the subject, not everyone can count on their help, and especially not everyone can always count on Skycotl's help.

Does The Carnival Season Feel Rushed?

I've seen some people say that the Carnival Season feels rushed, especially because it has no actual storyline that most seasons follow. A lot of people have also been saying it because the Ultimate Cosmetic Hair and Cape are "recycled Ultimate Items". A friend also complained about the Ultimate Carnival Hair looking like a cheaper and uglier looking copy of the original Owl Hair.

I've seen people call it the most underwhelming Season in Sky. I personally like it though. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I want Sky to feel like the true spiritual successor to Journey. I want Sky to feel like the mysterious realm which was brought to ruin by greed and corruption. What I don't want, is TGC turning Sky into a discount Disneyland

Honestly, the more days pass, the more Sky is starting to resemble a discount Disneyland rather than this mysterious world left in ruins because of the greed and corruption of the people living in it. Season of Carnival is basically the biggest example of this. I like the seasonal area but the vibes it gives off basically screams "we are basically creatively bankrupt so why don't we shove in a mini theme park and call it a day" and even the quests are basically reskinned Remebrance quests. Everytime I look at Journey and the other games being produced by Giant Squid Studios (the og developers of TGC who were actually behind the ones in creating Journey) like Sword of The Sea and Abzu, and then when I compare them to Sky, they all seem leagues apart. Journey, Sword of The Sea and hell, even Sky's old concept actually invokes feelings of melancholy, awe, mysteriousness, wonder and so on, Sky on the other hand...just feels morally and creatively bankrupt at this point.

Last year, we had Season of the Blue Bird, which was based on the play written by Begian poet Maurice Maeterlinck. The entire theme of the play is basically how vast amounts of material wealth doesn't bring true happiness. However, the way TGC had presented it felt so tone deaf that it was honestly laughable. They even "criticize" the fanbase in the 3rd quest where you dress up in some of the most sought after cosmetics in Sky: Prophet of Fire pants, Prophecy ultimate mask, Rhythm ultimate hair, the black bat cape from Days of Mischief and so on and at the end of the quest, they get destroyed cause "fancy clothes don't bring you true happiness". Keep in mind that TGC were the ones who fostered the dress up culture in Sky's fan base in the first place. Hell, even more ironic is that, right when Season of Blue Bird was ongoing, they released the 25 dollar water cape for Days of Nature which is a CHARITY event, yet the funny part is that the flashy 25 dollar water cape isn't even a CHARITY item. I'm not even considering their other insane IAP prices like the 15 dollar umbrella from Days of Fortune or the 20 dollar broomstick from Days of Mischief.

There was also Two Embers, which was supposed to be big turning point for Sky, but nope, TGC botched that too and then they were going on and on about how they will introduce "features never seen before in the history of gaming" or some bullshit like that. I won't elaborate on this much more cause just thinking about the entire Two Embers fiasco makes me wanna pop a blood vessel.

The more seasons they release, the more bland the entire world starts to feel. Radiance was filler, Migration was also filler with little crumbs of lore thrown in, Lightmending was also filler and Carnival is also filler. Sky has stopped being this mysterious realm. Then again, considering that Jenova Chen himself sees Sky as a theme park, I'm not even surprised (I wish I was kidding: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/thatgamecompanys-jenova-chen-sees-sky-children-of-the-light-as-more-virtual-theme-park-than-video-game/1100-6505986/)

I know that it's not really possible to make Sky on such a grand scale as Journey, but damn, I will take anything over whatever the hell is TGC doing at this point

Cymbal Spamming Make Honking Look Peaceful [Loud Warning]

I was today years old when I learned that something could be more disruptive than the incessant honking: cymbal (spamming).

A player at Geyser spent 10 minutes straight mashing cymbals during the entire event. No rhythm, no music, just non-stop crashing. I've lived in blissful ignorance not knowing cymbals existed in Sky. Even the bells don't sound this disruptive.

*EDIT: For clarity: I turned off all my volume after 10-15 seconds. I'd had it up waiting for the event to start and listening for cues. Another player approached them and used the shocked level 2 emote (distressed, hands on head), but they continued for the full 10 minutes. Commenters pointed out it might've been an Aurora song.

For context, I normally keep instrument volume at default because I genuinely enjoy hearing people practice. Except cymbals, those I don't think I'll get used to

Use of AI among SkyKids

I can’t stand seeing AI content in the Sky community anymore and I feel like I’m the only person who feels angry and disapproval when I see something like this around. Every time I see something made by AI, whether art or writing, involving Sky, it makes me so disgusted! I feel it’s a great lack of respect for TCG artists and developers who worked hard to create something in their game.

Many will say they don’t know how to draw and that annoys me, we don’t know anything! This is the grace, learning and making mistakes is essential to advance our knowledge, whether in drawing or writing, composing songs and other things.

Using AI to “make” your character in the sky is an immense lack of creativity, just going through aesthetics says a lot about who does this kind of thing.

Anyway, I’m writing this with a lot of anger, I apologize if it was badly written or if it didn’t imply.
