I said this a few weeks ago. Slipknot headlining OZZFEST.

Abscess — A painful pocket of pus caused by infection.

Lobotomize — To perform a lobotomy (a now largely abandoned brain surgery); figuratively, to severely reduce someone’s ability to think.

“Manchurian Candidate” — A person believed to have been secretly brainwashed or manipulated to act under another’s control. The phrase comes from the 1959 novel and its film adaptations.

Malice — The intention or desire to cause harm.

Malevolent — Having or showing a desire to do evil or harm others.

Melodramatic — Excessively emotional or exaggerated in behavior or storytelling.

Momentum — The force or energy gained through movement or progress that helps something continue.

Palpable — So strong or obvious it can almost be physically felt.

Profanity — Offensive or vulgar language; swearing.

Prosthetics — Artificial body parts designed to replace missing limbs or other body parts.

Purge — To remove, cleanse, or eliminate something unwanted.

Renegade — A person who rejects accepted rules, traditions, or authority.

Revelry — Lively celebration, partying, or noisy enjoyment.

Rhetoric — The art of persuasive speaking or writing; language intended to influence others.

Riddance — The act of getting rid of someone or something unwanted (often in the phrase “good riddance”).

Salivate — To produce saliva, often in anticipation of food or excitement.

Sanity — The state of having a healthy, rational mind.

Seethe — To be filled with intense but often unexpressed anger.

Severed — Cut off or completely separated.

Sic — To command someone or an animal to attack or pursue (e.g., “Sic ’em!”). In publishing, [sic] also indicates that a quoted error appears exactly as in the original.

Slithered — Moved smoothly over a surface in a snake-like manner.

Splayed — Spread out awkwardly or widely.

Suffocated — Unable to breathe because air has been cut off; figuratively, overwhelmed or restricted.

Tactic — A planned action or strategy used to achieve a goal.

Tattered — Torn, worn out, or in poor condition.

Totalitarian — Relating to a system of government with absolute control over nearly every aspect of public and private life.

Unscathed — Not harmed or injured despite danger.

Verdict — The formal decision of a jury or judge; more generally, a final judgment or conclusion.

I can't recall which interview, and it might've actually been the Wikipedia Fact or Fiction with Clown, but there was a point where when asked about winding Slipknot down one day, one of them pondered why they couldn't just replace the classic Nine entirely with younger musicians and Slipknot be a generational band. Since the band has always been hyperfocused on being about the music and not the people behind the masks, though there seem to be legitimate reasons behind the departures for each member since Joey, maybe they're not overly concerned with having something of a rotating cast of characters. Maybe this is all falling in to the grand scheme of things, to have a powerful and youthful Slipknot again that can carry the flag once the remainder of the Nine understand they can't embody the name as they once did.
