Looking for a real cobbler

Looking for a real cobbler

I’ve had these Circle G boots for about 5 years and over the last year and a half I’ve been avoiding wearing them, because I cannot find someone to repair the outer soles.

These shoes were gifted to me and bought from a store in Marysville, and they actually did shoe repair there, but the store no longer exists unfortunately.

I’m even willing to ship them off if anyone has any good recommendations, I just need someone who specializes in these soft-soled boots.

Where is Larson?

Larson failed to show up to two candidate forums in a row as of last week.

His own party, the orgs representing ~1/3 of his district, and yet he cannot be bothered to even give them three minutes of his time.

It is quite literally three minutes long and no longer. I asked them if I could have his three minutes because he didn't show and they declined, still keeping me to three minutes 😆

This paired with him ignoring the pleas over the last year from local activists to inspect the ICE facility in Ferndale just really disappoints me.

If you are as fed up with him as I am, please join my fight. You can read more about my platform at https://tomas4congress.com and donate to the campaign here

I am also looking for more incidents of him just failing to be there for us, so if you know of any I should be aware of please comment them here or email me at info@tomas4congress.com so it goes to everyone on the leadership team.

I Am Exausted

I’m exhausted.
I’m a woman and the primary breadwinner for my family, and I genuinely feel defeated trying to find a career that pays enough to actually support a household and offers real growth opportunities.
I’m currently employed, but there’s no advancement, no future, and no way to build a stable life from it long term. I’ve submitted well over 80 applications at this point across healthcare, operations, purchasing, inventory management, administrative roles, hotel management, and more. Mostly silence. A few rejections. That’s it.
What makes this harder is that I know I’m capable. I’m adaptable, curious, hardworking, and ambitious. I give 110% in everything I do. I learn quickly, I care about improving processes, I care about doing things right, and I genuinely want to grow with a company instead of just clocking in and surviving.
My background includes:
Purchasing/procurement
Inventory management
Hotel management/operations
Healthcare/optometry
Administrative and patient care experience
I’m not expecting to walk into a six-figure executive role overnight. I just want an opportunity to grow into something sustainable — something that can support a family without feeling like I’m drowning all the time.
What’s devastating is feeling like ambition and work ethic don’t even matter anymore. You can tailor resumes, write cover letters, interview well, follow up, and still feel invisible.
I know I’m not the only person going through this, but it’s incredibly isolating when you’re carrying the financial pressure for other people and trying so hard to keep it together.
Has anyone else experienced this? How did you finally break into a role that actually had growth potential and livable pay?

"Remarkably Bright Creatures"

Ok, I know that this new Sally Field movie on Netflix isn't *technically* SnoCo, but it's evidently meant to be set here based on the sheriff's uniform (it's actually filmed in Vancouver, BC).

I recommend checking it out. It's a pretty touching story, there are references to surrounding communities and the Salish Sea.

Copy of protest details: This Saturday, May 16th, the Snohomish County Republicans are holding a fundraising dinner with Brian Heywood, Brandi Kruse, Katie Faust, and Jim Walsh focusing on a new target for next year beyond – ending marriage equality across the United States. No Hate in WA State wants you to join us to send a clear message that hate has no place here at home, or across the country.

Join us this Saturday, May 16th from 4:00pm to 5:30pm at the entrance of Thomas Family Farm.

Looking for a good dentist

I've had some pretty poor experiences with dentists in my life. Because of that and the general misery of needing to go to the dentist, I haven't been to one in quite a while.

I take pretty good care of my teeth but there are obviously things that I can't fix on my own - like cavities. So, it's time for me to find a new dentist.

I live in Lake Stevens but I'm willing to drive a ways for a good dentist. I'm looking for someone who will generally be nice and non-judgmental. I wouldn't say I have a phobia of the dentist or anything, but rude and judgmental staff, financial malpractice, and poor care have made me very wary of going back to a dentist.

Also - looking for a good pediatric dentist for my toddler!

Mobile home realtor reviews

Hey everybody, I want to speak with a realtor about purchasing a manufactured home, likely in Snohomish county.

I'm having a heck of a time getting anyone to call me back. Is the market really that hot?

I am pre-qualified. Have good credit. Have a down payment, a reasonable payment budget and flexibility in location.

I would love to hear recommendations of people who will speak with someone about a manufactured home if I'm not over 55 years old and that dont consider it a waste of their time.

Does that sound defensive? well, let me tell you about the last couple of weeks in my experience..... They can't all be like this. Someone out there wants to sell a house.

Advice?

Marysville schools?? Any hope?

Im looking at a house somewhat near Shasta ridge area, it's in the Marysville school district. Honestly the house is perfect for my family but I am extremely worried about the schools. I have a 4 and 8 year old.

Is there any light at the end of the tunnel here or should I just run? Kids would be in the Marysville getchell high school, and the house is within walking distance of it. Not sure about elementary.

Preschools

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some anecdotes, recommendations or suggestions on preschools in the area. My daughter will be 4 in the summer, so I’m looking for a late summer start date. She’s has been with a nanny so far so this will be her first real exposure to school/daycare settings.

I have been looking and a lot of what I am seeing are franchises like La petit, Goddard, primrose, Montessori, etc. and it seems from reddit and reviews that these schools prioritize money over students and that the quality of care is very dependent on staff at the location.

I’m hoping to find somewhere that prioritizes social emotional learning and curiosity, and also has a pre-k curriculum to help kids get school ready. Also a balance of structured and unstructured play time. Also hoping for a school that uses positive reinforcement with behavior, and prioritizes diversity and celebrating/learning about other cultures. My daughter is not white so this is important to me.

Any personal experiences, suggestions, good or bad experiences are welcome!! Please feel free to offer any thoughts. Thank you!!

Looking for recommendations: Adult family home for 40 year old who is developmentally 18 month old

Hello! We are looking for somewhere my 40 year old cousin can live. He is developmentally about 18 months old (non verbal, not potty trained, but has an ipad to communicate basic needs). He's about 5' and 100lbs. Most places we are finding are geared towards elderly care or high functioning adults.

We are very worried about placing him in a state run facility or a large home because of previous experiences and stories of the level of care. We'd love for him to end up somewhere close by living with 4-6 people. More of a family style.

Does anyone know of homes like this or have suggestions of where to look?

Thank you in advance!

Battery Power

I was reading some stuff about the BESS facility in Arlington and it seems like there is some opposition associated with it?

Anyone know what the objections are? After reading about I literally cant find anything objectional in the program.

Our biggest electrical problem by far is tying in new projects to the existing grid. This makes it easier, particularly is we can get some offshore wind up here.

SnoCo Master Gardener Sale

The Master Gardener sale at the Monroe fairgrounds this morning was amazing! Thanks to everyone who puts this on!

I also made friends in line with Virsha (sp?) and forgot to get her contact info before I lost track of her! I blame the beautiful plants for distracting me. I think she's a healthcare worker and she lives in Echo Lake, so if you know her I'd love to pass my info along! :)
