where do the people who have terrible work hours hang out?

Specifically in the Lynnwood and Everett areas, I work late hours and don’t have a lot of friends who also work those hours. There’s nothing to do at 11pm, midnight or so when I want to unwind so I’ve just become a homebody. I know that there has to be other people with late hours nearby, hospital staff, Boeing factory workers, people in the events industry, etc

Where are places to dance?

I love to dance, whether it’s moshing at a club, swing dancing, slow dancing, line dancing you name it. I was just wondering if there are events or clubs or places that I can do this around the Everett, Lake Stevens, Monroe area?

Also would be nice if it has people my age there too( early 20s)

Looking for ADU builder recommendations

Have you added an ADU to your property? I’m interested in your experiences. Who built it for you, how long did it take, would you recommend your builder? Also interested in your experience if you’ve done it yourself. Looking to add ADU on five acres in unincorporated Snohomish County. Thank you.

Did you witness a car crash on April 1, 2025? If so, I need your help!

Hi, like the title states, I am looking for witnesses to a car collision that occurred on April 1st, 2025 in Mill Creek, WA. It was by the Mill Creek Town Center and involved two vehicles that had a head-on collision due to one party running a red light.

Originally, my insurance and hers found me 100% not-at-fault because I reported that she ran a red light. Now, though, I’ve gotten word that they have both changed their tune. Apparently, her insurance insists that, because she claims she entered on a yellow, not a red, that I am at fault. Our insurances have argued back-and-forth, and now determined us both partially culpable, and have allotted me 60% of the fault, and her 40% at-fault.

I don’t want to have my auto insurance rate jacked up because of her lie and unwillingness to take responsibility for her actions of running a red. I’ve tried everything regarding getting recorded info of the exact moment of collision: i.e. traffic camera footage, my auto insurance’s mobile app crash recognition time stamp to then cross reference with the WSDOT Traffic Signal Phase Logs, etc… to prove that she entered after the light turned red. But I’ve had no luck. My insurance has said again and again that they have no way to access the info I need, or that certain things have been destroyed (like the Event Data Recorder, AKA the car’s Black Box, since both of our cars were totaled and scrapped for parts by now), or that certain data was never recorded / archived / saved.

So, I’m hoping there’s a witness who can corroborate my claim that she entered on a red.

THE CRASH:
I was in the left-turn lane, with my car partially in the intersection (as is legal), heading south on Bothell-Everett Highway, ready to turn left (east) onto 153rd Street. The light flashed yellow, and I waited appropriately for northbound opposing traffic on Bothell-Everett highway to clear. Then the light turned solid yellow. A northbound car leisurely passed thru the intersection. Then everyone else heading that way (northbound) stopped, or were coming to a halt. Far away, like 6+ car lengths or more, there was a Mercedes that was going at a fast pace, but because it was so far away, I assumed — as any reasonable driver would — that she would stop since the light had already turned to a *solid* yellow for multiple seconds by that point. I had to turn left to get out of the intersection because by that point, the light was about to —or already had —turned red. And again, she wasn’t close to the intersection; she was several+ car lengths away.

I started my left turn, knowing that the light had probably already turned red by then, but kept my eyes on her to make sure she was slowing down. I realized that not only was she not slowing down, but she was speeding up, probably between 50-60 MPH even though the speed limit there is 30 MPH. I thought, “Oh, shit, she’s gonna run the red!” Because I had barely started my left turn, I knew that it would be faster to try to straighten my car out and swerve to the right to avoid her. That was the faster, safer option than trying to complete my left turn to get out of her path. However, because she was speeding so much, I couldn’t get out of her path fast enough, and we had a head-on collision. My car spun 180° before it stopped, dead.

Police came, interacted with us, and we kept apart from each other, which was easy since she stopped so far down the highway, while my car was still close to the intersection. Originally, for many months, she refused to speak to my insurance AND her insurance. I, however, was immediately completely cooperative.

Mind you, this accident was 3 days before my WEDDING, which I planned/ran myself, so I had A LOT to do, on top of working. So I was NOT happy about how much of a hassle all this was. I also was injured. Neither of us needed an ambulance at the scene, though.

I could’ve been hurt far worse than I was, but luckily, my car’s safety features and the nature of the angle of impact kept me pretty safe.

I found out recently that she claimed injury as well, so she might be lying to get my insurance to cover her medical expenses on top of avoiding her auto insurance rate from going up. I don’t know. I just know that I do not want to be found over 50% at fault and have that on my driving record, AND have my auto insurance rate jacked up because she finally talked to her insurance to lie to them to avoid taking the blame for running a red and hitting me HARD. She literally could’ve killed me.

Please let me know if you witnessed this crash and are able to state that you saw her enter after the light had turned red. If you have any information, message me directly, please.

Thank you 🙏

Possibly moving to mill creek

I’m moving from out of state and have pretty much narrowed down my search to Mill Creek. From everything I’ve researched, it seems like a really nice and relatively safe area, but I’d love to hear from people who actually live there.

The apartment complex I’m seriously considering is Mill Creek Meadows. It fits my budget really well, and I like the location, but the reviews are pretty mixed. Some people seem to love living there while others have had some negative experiences, and honestly it’s giving me a little anxiety since I’ll be moving from out of state.

I don’t have the luxury to fly out and look at apartments I am doing this blind due to a job offer I have to accept immediately and will get started right away .

Cath Cart East view Village Development 8/10/26

The other day I went to pick blackberries near the baseball fields at Glacier Peak’s High School. I was baffled by H.R. Horton’s new development in Cathcart. Consisting of 144 acres, 1300 new residential units and commercial space are expected to be built.

The area used to be connected with Snohomish Public Utility District Number 2. The hidden trail was full of wildlife. Furthermore connecting with a paved road (pavement markings scattered) with light poles, and even a landfill. It felt apocalyptic, but also surreal. (Picture shown below).

I am saddened because I used to go on many walks with my border collie. It was a perfect little oasis. Quiet and beautiful for getting away from everything.

I wanna start this thread to document it, but also to hear what other people think about this and how it will affect neighborhoods, traffic, and especially Glacier Peak HS and the little Cedars elementary school. Also if anyone else found this little what used to be ambient trail.

Single speed to ReEvolution

This past weekend I decided to finally get out for my first bikepacking trip of the year. I have a lot of hobbies, kids and responsibilities that have had priority over life. When I got a call from a friend who told me I needed to join his group going to a music festival out in Darrington Washington, I was a bit hesitant. I’ve never been to a big music festival, not since Warped Tour back in 2001. When I learned that Railroad Earth was headlining Saturdays main stage, I knew I had to try to make it happen. I figured since I lived 40 miles away from the venue, I could take rail trails the entire way and it was relatively flat, it was a no brainer. I’m purchased my ticket and on Saturday morning I hit the trail. I live along side of the Centennial trail in Snohomish County. Once getting to Arlington, there’s a trailhead to the Whitehorse Trail. That heads east all the way to the Darrington Bluegrass festival venue, which is a shared event space.

This was my first time running single speed while bikepacking. I was running a 30 tooth oval chainring with a 21 tooth rear cog on a Wheels Manufacturing XD adapter. It worked amazingly, but I was limited. You could say it’s a fairly low gearing setup. I started to spin out around 9 mph. At first I had some regrets and thought to myself that I could turn around and go back home to put a smaller cog on the rear. I reminded myself that this was the whole point. I’m not going for speed, it’s not a race and for me, the single speed setup was intentional for taking my time. Going my own pace was important, and later on my way home it proved to be helpful heading up the hills back towards my house.
I was recently diagnosed with a strange form of diabetes called LADA (latent autoimmune diabetes in adulthood), type 1.5 diabetes for short. I was still learning how to manage my body and blood sugar balance. I absolutely was thankful for the low gearing while climbing those hills at the end of my ride, I actually had a glucose crash and bonked out during that section. After washing some skittles down with some water and protein I recovered and made it home fine.

The music experience was incredible. I’ve never seen anything like it. Usually I go to the forest to find peace and quiet. This was not the same, but I embraced it. I embraced the whole experience. Bluegrass, jam bands and EDM until sunrise. It was a sacred place in the forest full of the kindest people. Hugs and handshakes all night long.

The next day, I got up at 9am, a bit behind my own schedule. I picked up a coffee and hit the trail.

Part of the Whitehorse Trail runs directly through the Oso Landslide Memorial site. on March 22, 2014 a massive mountainside broke apart into a landslide that buried 49 homes and killed 43 people. Riding through the trail takes you through the old properties which have the old addresses posted on signs. It’s an incredibly emotional experience and brought tears to my eyes when walking the the memorial site. I would highly recommend stopping by if traveling by car on highway 530 or via the trail.

As a note, the county has posted many closure signs along the Whitehorse Trail. Mostly due to erosion and washouts. I do not condone the actions of ignoring them, but if found my way through. I really hope the county decides it’s time to fix the issues along the route because it’s an absolutely beautiful trail with potential to host easy bikepacking trips, gravel rides and could be beneficial to building up communities such as the town of Oso and Darrington which is very much shaping up to be a very pro mountain bike destination with North Mountain trails and skills park.

Lost Dog

FOUND! THANKS!

Biggie ran off last night (11 Aug) in the vicinity of 132nd Street and 58th Drive NE. That's east of 51st on 132nd. 98271 zip code. Unfortunately we don't have any photos of her.

She's a white terrier mix with little brown spots. Her name is Biggie. She's pretty small. She likes people and cats and hates other dogs. She recently survived a horrific tragedy in Renton and was released yesterday from Animal Control, and brought here to Marysville, but last night she slipped out and ran.

We think she's microchipped but the chip may misdirect you to an address in King County.

Let us know if you see her or if you have her. Thanks for reading!
