33F, looking for a genuine friend to grab coffee & talk nonsense with

Hey everyone,

I’ve been living in Norwich for almost a year now. Life here has been really good so far and I love the city, but I feel like I'm missing a massive piece of the puzzle which is having my own close friends and that independent social connection. I’m really looking for someone I can meet up with, grab a coffee, go for walks, and just talk about absolutely nothing and everything for hours.

A bit about me: I’m originally from the Netherlands, but I’ve lived in the US and Japan before settling down here. I’m pretty easygoing, loyal, and fluent in sarcasm.

My interests are a bit of a chaotic mix. I’m a massive history and paleontology nerd (dinosaurs are great, let's be honest), but I also love the occult. When it comes to gaming, I mostly play The Isle, Path of Titans, and Stardew Valley so my vibe basically alternates between "viciously surviving as a dinosaur" and "cozy farming." Aside from that, I read, watch movies, collect stuffed animals, and have a borderline obsessive adoration for cows.

If you fancy a coffee, a wander around the lanes, or want to chat about gaming/history, drop a comment or send me a message. I'd love to connect!

32M looking to make new friends

I’m 32, a stay‑at‑home dad to a 2‑year‑old, trying to make a couple of local friends who are up for low‑key weekday hangs — parks, city wanders, iced coffee, chatting about films, that sort of thing.

Bonus points if you’re into horror, have kids around toddler age, or you’re a massive nerd.

Not looking for big nights out or spending loads — just easy company and someone to hang out with during the week. If that sounds like your speed, drop a comment or DM!

28M Looking for genuine friendships and good conversations

I’ve realised recently that life can be going really well on paper and you can still feel like something’s missing.

Work has been great lately. I’ve had a promotion, a pay rise, and things are generally moving in the right direction. But it also made me realise I’d like more genuine people to share life with. The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve come to value real friendships and meaningful connections.

I’m 28, from the UK, and I’d describe myself as easygoing, loyal, and probably possessing an unhealthy amount of golden retriever energy.

Most weekdays start in the gym. Fitness has become a huge part of my life, not just physically but mentally too. It’s one of the things that helps keep me grounded and focused.

Outside of that, I’m a massive nerd.

Gaming is probably my biggest hobby, especially anything with great world-building, lore, and storytelling. Some of my all-time favourites are Halo, Mass Effect, Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring, Crusader Kings, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, The Witcher 3, Skyrim, Dragon Age, Red Dead Redemption 2, and pretty much anything that lets me disappear into another world for a few hours.

When I’m not gaming, you’ll usually find me watching something equally nerdy. I’m a huge Lord of the Rings fan (extended editions, obviously), love Star Wars, and can happily spend hours talking about fantasy and sci-fi. Whether it’s epic battles, deep lore, great characters, or ridiculous fan theories, I’m probably interested.

I’m also into Warhammer 40k and have slowly accumulated a collection of helmets, collectibles, and nerd memorabilia that’s beginning to take over my shelves.

On a more personal note, I’ve dealt with depression a couple of times in my life. One thing it taught me is how important good people are. Having someone who checks in, listens, remembers the little things, and genuinely cares can make a bigger difference than most people realise. Because of that, I try to be that kind of friend too.

What I’m looking for is pretty simple: genuine friendships with people who want to stick around. Whether that’s gaming together, voice chats, sharing memes, talking throughout the day, debating which sci-fi universe would win in a war, or ending up in one of those random 1am conversations about life.

If you’re kind, easy to talk to, a fellow nerd, a gamer, or just someone looking for a genuine connection, I’d love to hear from you.
