Back button not working on Fire TV Cube only in Prime

Is anyone having this problem using their remote on Prime?

I have a Fire TC Cube using with an x1.
A couple of days ago (7/23/26), I was watching a show on Prime. When the show was over I couldn’t exit the show and back out of it. I then noticed that I couldn’t exit out of Prime using the back button. On all of my other apps, back button worked. The Fire TV remote worked and I could back out of a Prime show and back out of the Prime app.

I have tried everything I can think of.

- I reset my Hub and redid the entire programming and it still didn’t work.
- swapped the X1 remote out
- reset the Fire TV cube

I installed a different cube and it worked perfectly and it stopped working a few hours later.

After hours of trial and error I found the problem. The newest release of Prime PVFV-321.0078-L , the back button doesn’t work in Prime

I did a system reset and restored from a week old backup. It installed Prime, release PVTV-121.0077-L. So far it is working correctly.

I have disabled the auto update for Prime.

Anyone?

Xfinity XG1v4-A Compatability?

I've tried a user generated profile and the closest sugested profile from SB but neither worked for anything other than turning the box on. Does anyone know of a profile I can use so I don't have to manually learn the remote?

Thank you

Hue Functionality?

I'm new to Sofabaton. Picked up an x1s last night and got it mostly working the way I want it to. I didn't buy it for HUE lights but noticed that it has HUE hub as an available interface. Added.

It seems that I can control any light or room as on/off. But I do not see a way to trigger scenes.

For example, I have a set of 3 bulbs behind my tv. I use them as ambient light which improves the perception of dark and light colors on the screen. I use 3 or 4 scenes to change the color of those lights.

I have options in the Sofabaton app to turn on or off TV Lights. I have options to set them to 20%/50%/80%. But I don't have options to access scenes : Purple / Sunset / Hockey / Sky

Does any one know if I can do that and how to access?

Thanks.

Does the sofabaton x2 and/or hub communicate directly with external servers?

Hi Im thinking about getting a sofabaton x2, but I sadly don't trust companies any more, so my question can I run a sofabaton x2 while not allowing the remote or hub internet access?

My phone will still have internet access.

Sofabaton X2 Lock

So I just got the remote and while it works really well I can't find a way to lock settings. So this makes this remote kinda useless for me. It's for the living room and the kids and their friends will be able to fiddle with all the settings. Big overlook in my opinion to not add any restriction controls.

Edit: I was able to remove all the extra buttons under each device so that minimizes the damages. An activities lock would be ideal so the remote is locked on the activities screen. Harmony had a similar feature.

LG Sound Suite Comparability?

Has anyone successfully used their remote with an LG Sound Suite? I'm trying to gauge whether or not it would work and what other functionality it might offer before I take the plunge.

My setup:

LG G5

LG Sound Suite (H7 + two M5s)

PS5

Apple TV 4K

Switch 2

and soon possibly a Panasonic U820

Which Sofabaton remote for me?

I have a Sony X90J TV and Cambridge Evo 75 streaming amplifier and am thinking of getting a Sofabaton remote to control both devices at once with one remote, as I'm having many issues with HDMI Arc/cec.

I'm wondering which out of the U3 or X1S is right for me?

I'm thinking I'll need to set up a one touch function to turn on the TV and Cambridge Evo, and then have it switch the Evo to the Optical input.

The Evo is IR only (no bluetooth), so my worry is, how will the U3 know to send channel switching commands to the Evo once it powers on? Is the X1S better at this since it has a base station?

The Evo has an IR input FYI.

Any advice would be great thanks!

Kind of disappointed

So, I've had a Harmony Elite remote for several years. Like the experience of many folks on the Logitech forum, the Harmony had always been sort of buggy, occasionally refusing to work for no apparent reason. So, when I learned that Logitech was abandoning the Harmony, I began to research alternatives. Sofabaton kept on coming up, and seemed like a good successor.

My wife got me the X1S for my birthday. Over the course of a very long day, I came to a stunning conclusion: the "magic remote" that came with my 2024 LG TV would do everything I possibly needed.

This came as a surprise because I'd effectively written off any remote that came with a device, believing a universal remote (first, various iterations of the Harmony and now the X1S) would be the best solution.

And it all happened by accident.

I made a separate post on this forum a few hours ago regarding this weird password screen I'd never seen before. A kind Redditor explained that this was actually a hidden service menu on my LG TV that I'd never seen (this is my second LG TV, and I never saw it on that one, either). Somehow, the Sofabaton remote caused this password screen to pop up at weird times, and the only way I could find to dismiss it was by using the LG remote. When I entered the magic password, I got an entire screen of stats, and then the TV completely reset. Well, crap.

Frustrated, I began using the LG Magic Remote to set up the TV and my whole system, and everything just...worked, making the new X1S superfluous. So I'm pretty sure I'm sending it back.

So, why did I label this post "disappointed"? Well, there were a few things that struck me as odd about the Sofabaton. In no particular order:

  1. the display screen on the remote was in Chinese, Japanese and Korean, with no readily easy way to switch it to English. I followed a couple different sets of instructions I found online to change the language (usually involving changing the language on the app to something else then back to English and syncing the remote). It never worked. What I ended up doing, which, while I kind of impressed myself that it worked, I still found unacceptable. I ended up using Google Translate on my phone and aimed the camera at the remote screen, with "detect language" selected. I then was able to get into the settings and change the remote to English. I mean, it was kind of cool to be able to do that, but it also seemed pretty dumb that I had to, given what the remote cost.

  2. No matter what I did, I couldn't get the X1S to recognize my Sony Blu-Ray player. The database had two entries for the unit I own (a relatively new piece, maybe two years old, so it's not like it was an old unit or something).

  3. The app itself seems a little spare with some funky turns of phrase here and there, but the fact that it appears that the app does everything the remote does, it begs the question: why do I even need the remote? I guess I was expecting more of the Harmony Elite experience on the X1S.

So, that's basically the scoop. Unless anyone can tell me why I should keep it and use it rather than use the Magic Remote that came with my LG TV, I'll be returning it to Amazon shortly.

Experience Switching from Harmony

I just switched from my trusty old Harmony to an X2 just yesterday. I thought I'd post some thoughts about the process. For context, been a very long time Harmony user but frustrated with recent issues so I was looking for alternatives. Settled on the X2.

My current devices:

  1. Sony TV
  2. Sony DVD player
  3. Vizio soundbar
  4. Xbox Series S
  5. Roku Ultra
  6. Nintendo Switch

I was able to add the Sony TV, DVD player, Xbox and Roku very easily using the available list of devices in the app. However, I had to do a manual IR setup for the Vizio soundbar, but it did work.

I was unable to add the Nintendo Switch. It's connected to my network, and its hub has an HDMI cable connecting it to the TV. It used to work fine with the Harmony, but the Sofabaton app won't pick it up on my network.

Overall, I would say it wasn't too difficult to set this up considering my list of devices is fairly simple. I do wish the instructions had more step-by-step details. I made it work but anyone who has never used Harmony like me might have issues.

Also, for one of the devices, the volume down button is listed as volume dowm (with an m) and I can't figure out how to change it. Typos in a device like this look really bad.

U2 to U3 upgraders and App question(s)

Hello there,

to those who upgraded from an U2 to an U3, was it worth it? I recently got my hands on the last U2 produced, the one with (barely visible) backlit buttons and the said to be improved scroll wheel. I only control devices via Infrared. Has anyone with a similiar usage scenario upgraded from an U2 to an U3 and do think it was worth it?

I read about a new App being available but I also read you don't need it for the U2. Can you use the new App with the U2 tho and does the new App do anything better than the old one? I was ok with the old App, don't get me wrong, but I would have loved to see a remote profile feature for example, so that you only have to copy over one complete profile from one remote to another without having to re-setup all your customisations agaon.

Thanks in advance.

Roller Wheel Skipping - X1S

The little wheel that selects stuff on the screen skips around so it's nearly impossible to get to whatever you want to select. Anyone else experienced this?

Bluetooth remote solution for generic Android Smart TVs (Mainly Missing OK and Input)

I have a workshop with several different TVs on different walls. I'd love to have macros that work without pointing the U3 remote at them.

The Bluetooth library is very slim on brands and the generic Android Box and AndroidTV options don't even have "input" buttons assignable. I have a samsung, an xgimi, and a Hisense. The xgimi bluetooth library works great, but there aren't any for Hisense and Samsung.

I have tried to add an IR button on top of the standard bluetooth commands but the remote isn't actually sending out an IR signal when hitting the input button, so I can't learn it. That means I have to downgrade to the full IR remote option.

Seems like OK and Input are the buttons not working for the typical androidTV smart TV. D-pad and back usually works.

EDIT: I found a bandaid solution to the original remote defaulting to bluetooth from an older post here on this subreddit. if you un-pair the remote from the original tv, it'll (probably) defualt back to IR which lets you learn from it. I have not done this yet because It's a luxury feature I can live without and I really don't want ot figure out how to re-pair this random remote with this random tv.

Still so surprised that the ecosystem for IR commands is still so messy. I've held off buying a harmony/sofabaton for years, assuming that when I finally jumped it, it would be very mature. Instead, there's like 4+ libraries for a single Denon X4800h.

Purchased the U3, I really like it! But how do I get rid of the 0A- beside Bluetooth devices ?!

Even after renaming the device in the app it’s still there, only for Bluetooth connections. Obviously not a huge issue but kind of annoying since it crops out characters.

X2 Charging cradle

Anyone know if the x1 charging base can be used with the x2? Or any 3d printable ones that work? Apparently sofabaton will not sell the x2 base separately for some reason.

3 SofaBaton X1s, and the same wheel problem...any fixes?

I love the remote - I truly do. However, even after getting two replacements (SofaBaton support is especially kind for helping me out with the snappy replacements!) , the issue ends up being the same. I thumb up or down the scroll wheel, and nothing happens. If I feverishly roll it in alternating fashion, I might get a menu movement enough to do what I need, but beyond that - almost unusable. In the case of the first two, the scroll wheel failed outright and I couldn't switch TV inputs without the default remote(s), plus the remote's menus were non-navigable by that point.

Is there any particular way to fix this, even temporarily? Not afraid to open it up, but I'm wondering if it's just a 'me problem' or a known issue?

Question about starting activities on the X2

Hi folks. Apologies if this has already been answered numerous times (I wasn't able to find any recent threads about it), but is the only way to start an activity still to swipe? Or has 'tap to start activity' been added since launch?

My parent's X1s has been put through its paces and I'm looking to upgrade them to the X2 - but the swipe motion is unfortunately not a viable option for them.

X2 MQTT

I just ordered the X2 remote/hub kit, but have not yet received it. Re: MQTT button events, does the X2 publish every physical button press over MQTT, or only virtual buttons and activities? If physical buttons are included, what does the MQTT payload look like?
