What would you say if the developers introduced a new mode available when selecting a map - an “unlimited units” mode? As the name suggests, this mode would remove the limit on the number of units in each squad. Alternatively, the mode could increase the squad size just enough to make it still worthwhile to research upgrades that increase squad size.
What do you think - would such a mode even make sense in this game?
+ Additional suggestions:
- Would adding a “hide units before the battle begins” feature be a useful and welcome improvement to battles?
I think this would be useful in various situations
- And while we’re on the topic of battles, what do you think about adding “tactics” as a new skill for confidants?
It could increase the number of spaces where we could deploy our units before the battle, or allow us to deploy units after the battle has started (just like in the “Heroes of Might and Magic” series, for example), or both ;)
- Both the underground tunnel system and the water navigation mechanics would certainly make for an interesting addition to the game ;)
- Unique buildings for each faction; for example, in the case of the Barony of Loth, “a building that transforms living beings into the undead” (greater usability in “Mixed Factions”)
I’m having a lot of trouble with the map. It seems dragons hard counter Barya, and theres alot of dragons on the map. not to mention you have to face two wielders while only having one.
Any tips would be really appreciated.
First campaign was a bit too traditionalist, still it was interesting a faction mixing what in other games would be two different ones. Also, some character reactions felt more realistic than I would have expected.
But I'm falling in love with Rana in a way it never happened in HoMM games.
Also gameplay is peak.
Is there any possibility of new spells being added to the game at some point in the future? I understand that it would be extremely difficult to do while maintaining the balance, but it would be neat if there were spells that required more than two kinds of essence.
I everyone, here another old Heroes of might and magic fan considering the purchase of Songs of Conquest.
I'd like to ask a couple of questions, thank you for your help.
1a) With unit cap, do you get easily capped on your total strength?
I like the freedom of building more of the same structure in a town, do you usually use this opportunity or it's niche?
I read the writing is weak...but also that lore is cool. That feels a bit strange, what's the truth?
Are there very big maps?
What's your favorite SoC aspect?
What aspect do you like the least ?
EDIT: Thank you every one. Bought the game, eager to start playing.
Heard that games like HoMM have an insane amount of replay value, but reading about SoC lots of people mention that the random map generator is not very good.
How will this game than have a lot of replay value? What you guys play for replay value if not random maps?
A new campaign, new wielders, and much more, and it's here on June 4!
Rise eternal second mission, you have one wielder with a big army that cant enter town and one wielder with a small army that cant leave town... i dont understand how i am supposed to reinforce the big army with more troops or leave town with the small army. this mission seems impossible/bugged, did i miss something?
Hello everyone! Im looking for the mod that changes the look of fog of war. I don’t like how dark this map is, especially with such beautiful pixel art. I’d like the fog of war to be made up of white mist and little clouds. Maybe I’ve seen it in some other game, but blimey, it would look much better. Does anyone know of a mod like that?
Hello im looking for the cool ideas for magic orientet build and seperate necromancy orientet build. Necromancers in the loth are so disapointing...
I through they will rise the dead but thats not happening. :(
What faction is the best for magic?
Like a pre-order thing, early access skin, whatever?
Also, how's controller support? I intend to play it on GoG.
