I need advice as a 8 month sonic employee

(This is also one of my first jobs) 😭 I’ve been at sonic for about 8 months with people who have worked here for 3 years+ or even their whole life almost. Recently business HAD genuinely been slowing down so, many people had been called off so that Labor stays low. Last 2 weeks I’ve only worked 2 days.. comparatively I used to work Tuesday-Friday 10-5 or 11-5pm. And im hardly seeing them call others off anymore.. I’m the only one who’s been called off this week and I was only scheduled 2 days this week.. is there anything I can do legally? Should I just quit? 😭 I don’t know. I feel like they’re trying to make me quit.

My most recent order is a wasteland of discontinued items

Going to Sonic and ordering a bunch of value items was my weekly tradition after rec soccer matches. They completely gutted the value menu and the stuff left isn't good enough to get me to come back. Even the deals suck nowadays - I haven't seen a BOGO offer in a long time.

I guess it's time to find a new tradition.

Do you think my local sonic is the worst one?

First photo is the "restaurant" on Google maps. This is the main photo uploaded by the owner.

Second photo is what the restaurant actually looks like. A little misleading if you ask me, it's not the same building.

Third - their digital sign has not worked in 10 years. Our sonic was built in 2009, so the sign has been screwed up longer than it has even been open.

Fourth - half of their menu boards don't work. The screens just display white text, MS-Dos style. The card readers have never worked on any of them.

Fifth - up close of the screen. Not my photo.

I swear my local Sonic could fuck up a free lunch.

This is all I see when trying to order the $7 meal deal.

Same on the app.

I called the store and the manager said they have it, so it's NOT a participation issue.

So if I want it, I have to order in person, and since I can't order it on the app or site, I can't get any points or use any coupons either.

If I try to order any thing else, it works fine.

Sonic Workers of Reddit, what’s the highest ticket number you’ve seen?

I live in the San Antonio Area and because of the recent Spurs games that’s been going on, my location would be very, very busy on game nights. Last week on Thursday, the store was so busy that when I left at around 11:00pm, we were at ticket 432, which is very high for my location. What’s the highest ticket number you all have seen?

Pulled these out of my burrito after asking for easy jalapeño and no tomato... Between this & the redbull slushies being axed, my list of things I have to look forward to in life is now almost completely depleted🫠

Thoughts on the new POS system? (Infor)

Personally, there was NOTHING wrong with the MICROS system, barring the annoyance of all of the damn Promo Items we DIDNT have and NEVER DID!

But to go thru with this new revamp and change is so fucking annoying. The Infor POS system looks like a 9 year old did it with button placements that look dreadful.

What are yalls thoughts on the new Infor POS if yall got it?

Tried to game the system on 99¢ corn dog day to speed run the new terrible rewards system so I can get my half price drinks again. It wasn't worth it, learn from my mistakes

Either visits are on a cooldown timer or they only count once per day. Summer is gonna be half over by the time I can get half price drinks again 😫

Thank You Sonic!

So I went to sonic to get a large cherry Dr Pepper and some Mozzerella sticks during happy hour... And when I get there, the drive thru speaker tells me it will be a 10-15 minute wait to order.

So I just want to say thanks to Sonic for making me realize I didn't need the calories nor to give them my money.

I can no longer pick up online order at window?

I once asked a Sonic employee if I could order on the app and pick up at the drive-thru window (My restaurant closed their inside since Covid, so there's no walk-in anymore--they only have the drive-thru and stalls.) The employee at the time said, "Sure; just order on the app and tell us at the drive-thru that you are here to pick up an online order and come to the drive-thru window." Great. I've been doing that ever since without issue. It's been a while, but the other day, I went on a Monday around 3:30--quieter time of day--to just pick up a drink and pretzel for me and my hubby. Now I notice that the app forces me to select a Stall # and asks me to proceed to park in the corresponding stall, so I picked a random stall #, but still proceeded to the drive-thru speaker and told the employee that I was there to pick up an online order and could i pick it up from the window; she said no problem. The very nice employee then told me very nicely that I could no longer do this. That going forward I HAD to go to a STALL to pick up orders placed on the APP. That they could get in trouble per their district manager for allowing customers to pick up at the drive-thru window. She was very nice about it. I told her that I hate making the employees come outside to the stalls to deliver my food, especially if it's raining or snowing--plus I always feel like I need to tip when they do that too. She said it's part of the "Sonic experience," and that truly they are cracking down and will get in trouble for allowing this. Thoughts? Makes me no longer want to go there. I like using the app because it is so slow there, but hate using the stalls--it was even worse when they roller skated!!
