I watched Sonic X and I loved it, of course some of the characterisations are different or storyline may not be refined and animation subpar but every episode I’ve seen (I think I got around to ep 70? I got really busy for a WHILE and need to pick it back up again)

Each episode has banter and fun dynamics even with its faults. Eggman is so godamn funny. Sonic is so witty and just fucks off at times because he CAN! And I know the dreaded ‘Sonic the wind!’ Characterisation but i don’t think it’s nearly as bad of a thing as people make it out to be.

Tails feels ACTUALLY useful. Amy feels like an actual character being able to be really kind and sweet and yet also hot headed. Knuckles my GOAT! His moments may be few and far between in comparison but oh my gosh for me personally I love this characterisation of him as he lives and goes on himself! He’s the lone guardian and he ACTS like it! He WANTS to go back to angel island! He’s gullible but not a airhead, he ACTUALLY goes band for band against Sonic.

Some of the adventure episodes feel rushed I admit but still done fairly well even though I would want more Gamma screen time. Shadow felt like a REAL damn threat and just straight up aura.

All the side characters have funny and wholesome moments and the NUMEROUS side plot or non game related episodes feel all really loose and good fun!

Rouge’s VA was so ok point and moments with Knuckles and Shadow very entertaining.

Also Chris’s mom is bad asf.

Even with its faults I think it’s still a really good show. It was cheap. It was for kids. It’s PEAK!

I've been thinking about this for quite some time.

When we see Sonic turning into Dark Sonic in Sonic X, his transformation doesn't follow the pattern of sillhouette changed followed by color change that Super Sonic goes through. First, he turns dark with Sonic's sillhouette, then he gains the Super Sonic sillhouette. It's as if he wasn't a Dark version of Super Sonic (a Dark Super Sonic), but rather Super version of Dark Sonic (a Super Dark Sonic). Sonic is first affected by Dark form, then Super form. Perhaps it could have an implication on where the Dark form came from, since it isn't tied directly to Super Sonic.
