Rone

I’m not sure why my instagram algorithm decided to show my a bunch of rone battle rap videos but I’m all for it. I remember when he got hired, I loved young and happy but seeing him demolish people in little ass rooms has been amazing.

New presenting sponsor?

I don’t remember seeing high noon on the Spotify cover art until today. Boys keep moving up in the world

Growth of the pod has been crazy

For reference the goals Rone laid out last October was to average 50k per ep on YouTube and add 20k followers.

When he laid out the goal they were at 112k followers on YouTube and they’re now at 141k.

In the last 4 months they’ve averaged 78k, 88k, 71.5k, and 93.5k views per episode for a total average of 82.9k views per episode over the last 4 months.

The most viewed ep was the Big Cat ep w 161k and the low was The Nick Murphy ep at 53k.

Great episodes pre-francis to revisit?

I love francis, and whenever I re-listen listen to older episodes, it's usually with all 3 of them. I wanted to revisit some of the episodes before he came on full time, any suggestions you guys have for good ones?

I have already downloaded Full Suey (6), the wyoming arc (13-16), Mouse in the House (103), Francis Ellis (127), and Mexicans Love Lil Sas (185).

Son of a boy dad has become my favorite pod

In the last couple months son of a boy dad is the podcast I for sure look forward to the most. I started listening when the first class drama happened. The only podcast that’s on par for me personally is KMS. I find Rone, Francis and SAS very genuine which is unique in a modern barstool that’s filled with bits (The Yak). I’ve really enjoyed lately how they have addressed all the latest barstool drama but have also done a good job at not making the whole pod about that. Hope it continues to grow. Long live the king of NY

This podcast is really good. really REALLY good.

Just wanted to share my 2 cents.
I've listened here and there over the years as I phase back and forth between music and podcasts, but I have gotten back into the podcast over '26, and I am just really pleased with where the podcast is right now. I really think the dynamic between the three personalities is a perfect blend of what a podcast should be.

3 completely different dudes that have seemed to master the art of making anything funny, interesting, and engaging.

At any point, at least two of them are engaged and knowledgeable on the topic, and the odd man out lets them continue without interrupting.

The age gap is perfect, as you get all of the stories/memories about things in the 2000's from Rone and Francis, while sas brings in a lot with whats current in the video game realm and then brings in a lot of great insight on outdoors stuff. (this pod even got me to become interested in COD again which I haven't been for years.)

This podcast can be riffin on something dumb for a bit, and then Francis can just chime in with grammar corrections or words I've never heard, and I get to walk away feeling a bit smarter.

No notes, guys. This podcast is well on its way to breaking deep into the top 100.

IK Im glazin pretty hard, but im really pleased with this product and want it to succeed further.

The “Hairball” nickname

I’m fairly new to SOABD but love it so much I’ve almost finished all the episodes. But did it in a non linear way.

Not sure when it happened, but thank god Francis stopped calling Harry, Hairball. I love Francis but damn it’s always a tough listen.

I’m guessing there wasn’t an episode where someone tells him to stop? Haha

Long live Son Of A Boy Dad

What brought you to SOABD

I listened to Dave on his DDTG stuff during Covid but never was a big fan of much else Barstool. Saw Francis during Internet Invitational and gave pod a try.

Sas became my favorite and love the entire crew. Started listening to Nick and KB a bit after on ANUS (recommended here). Those are by far my top 5 guys at Barstool. Diff type of humor I like.

Glad the pod continues to grow.

Rone’s Leg Injury

Forgive me if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I think Rone must have injured himself on Surviving Barstool. It’s been mentioned 2 or 3 times on SOABD without really talking about what happened. It seemed like there could have been an edit in the Gerben interview where they cut to an ad read.

Anyway, I obviously spend too much time listening to podcasts.
