Where to stay in Paris as a student?

Hi! I'm going to Sorbonne to study, and will have classes in both their main campus and their campus at Porte de Clignancourt, they are quite far apart.

At first I really wanted the 5th arrondissement, I found a good apartment there. It's a 10 min walk to Sorbonne Université and a 30 min metro to Clignancourt campus.

I also found a place in the 9th that’s bigger and cheaper, and honestly I like the vibe more. It’s about 20 min to Clignancourt campus and ~30 min to Sorbonne on metro.

Then I looked at the 11th too and realized commute times are kind of similar everywhere once you’re central + on metro lines.

So now I’m wondering, does it even matter that much where you live in central Paris as long as you’re well connected? Or is living in the 5th actually worth it for the experience?

Thanks in advance!!

How much are Non-eu students going to pay 2026-2027?

Saw the news about the tuition situation for Non-EU students… For cog-sup, do you guys know if we’ll pay 250 euro this year or the 3941 amount? This is very sudden and upsetting….

Master’s after Sorbonne

I recently got accepted into the English-taught Economics bachelor’s at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

I was wondering where graduates from this program usually go for master’s degrees. Do people get into places like LSE, Oxford, Cambridge, Bocconi, HEC, Sciences Po, or even Ivy League schools?

Also, how easy is it to find internships while studying at Sorbonne?

Sorbonne Universite DIGIT vs EURECOM Data Science – Need Honest Reviews & Career Advice for Master’s 2026

Dear Reddit community,

I am stuck in my preparation for the France 2026 Master’s intake. I have completed my Campus France interview, and out of the 7 universities I applied to, I got accepted into 2 universities. The first one is Sorbonne Université – DIGIT: International Program, and the second one is EURECOM Master’s in Data Science.

I got admission to Sorbonne University. After completing my application, I also received admission to EURECOM Data Science. Of course, Sorbonne is a big and reputed university, but I am more interested in pursuing a Data Science course.

Now, I have to make a choice before May 31 on the EEF portal regarding which college I am going to choose.

Can anyone help explain the DIGIT program at Sorbonne Université? After completing M1 at Sorbonne, will I have any good options to pursue M2 related to Data Science or Management?
review about DIGIT program at Sorbonne Universite?

Can anyone also share their review about EURECOM?

Any suggestions on choosing between Sorbonne Université and EURECOM would be greatly appreciated.

Your answers to these questions will help me make the right decision.

Career prospects after Sorbonne DIGIT (Master CS) — how's the job market for international CS grads in France?

Hey everyone!

I'm an international student (Indian) starting the DIGIT program (Master in Computer Science – Digital International Program) at Sorbonne University, Paris this September. I'm really excited about the program but I wanted to get some real-world perspective on the job market before I dive in.

A few things I'm curious about:

1. Post-DIGIT career paths — What kind of roles do DIGIT/Sorbonne CS alumni typically land? I'm interested in computer vision, ML, and AI — are there good opportunities in Paris/France for these specialisations?

2. Employability rates — I've seen France has around 79.9% graduate employment rate (Eurostat 2024), which seems lower than Germany (91.9%) — is the CS market specifically better than that average?

3. Language barrier — How much does not speaking French affect your job search? I'm taking French classes but will only be at an intermediate level by graduation. Is English enough for tech roles in Paris?

4. International students specifically — After graduating, did you manage to get a work visa / APS (Autorisation Provisoire de Séjour)? How long did the job search take?

5. Salary expectations — What's a realistic starting salary for a CS/ML engineer in Paris fresh out of a Master's?

Any insights from current students, alumni, or people working in the French tech industry would be super helpful. I want to know if it's worth building my career here long-term or if France is more of a stepping stone!

Thanks in advance 🙏

dilemme paris 1
