Hej,

im running an pretty stock SV08 with mainline Klipper and eddy-ng on an 32GB EMMC. Recently i have trouble with with the printer randomly shutting down with the Error: Lost communication with MCU 'extra_mcu'. So somehow the connection between mainboard and toolheadboard is interrupted.

So far i replaced the wire harness and the entire toolhead. I also added ferrit cores on both USB cables and still getting the same error.

Any idea what else i can try? Thanks in advance.

Picked up an SV08, have been going through the calibration process before putting it to work,

I have calibrated my E-steps, and found that my E steps were slightly over extruding, so I adjusted the rotation_distance to 6.44 from 6.5

Running the Flow Ratio calibration test in Orca using the Archimedean chords and I had to lower my Flow Ratio from .98 all the way to .9 for just basic PLA (Sunlu).

This this normal? I have three other printers (Bambu Labs P2S) and none of them drop below .97 for any filament.

I have a Prusa MMU3 which is notoriously difficult to load filament into but this SV08 takes the cake sometimes. How do you cut the filament end so it most easily goes into the extruder? I feel like I'm performing microscopic surgery sometimes getting filament into this thing and I literally can't. I feel like I'm sometimes having to try to load it 5-6 times before the teeth grip the filament.

Most of the time it pulls the filament up to the melt zone and just says "nah we're gonna stop here. this is as far as we go buddy".

Like should I mechanically be adjusting something on the idler in the toolhead to make it go into the thing easier? How exactly do I even do that on the toolhead?

I can't be the only one, right? Oh god is it just me?

That's really the only problem I have right now on this printer after spending approximately 3,000 years getting the printer.ini file to the correct specification to print without heat soaking and adding an Eddy sensor.

I am currently in process of building a new toolhead. What is set is EBB36 Gen2, CartographerV4 w/ ADXL and Rapido HF V2. But I cannot decide wether StealthBurner w/ Galileo2 or A4T w/ ww bmg and Cutter is the way to go.

SB seems easy as there is a lot of documentation and examples present. But A4T is to my understanding superior due to low weight, cutter and a better stability. I cannot get my mind around if the effort is worth.

All parts are already sitting at my desk so I doesnt matter in the end but I need some Input to finally make a decision.

like some others I was having problems with the wifi that just keeps resetting. tried the usual fixes but it would forget the wifi settings no matter what i did. so i just left the stick in it with the wifi info, and it just works? i'm more of a mechanical guy but my theory is that: the sv08 is forgetful, and the wifi setup guide is wrong and it in fact does read the stick at booting to look for the wifi settings. the odds are now 10% startups where it doesnt work, from like 50%.

and is now fixed by turning it off and on again. hope this helps someone!

Hi! I just bought a new SV08. I built it, made couple small prints, then it started giving off error 7 and shutting down. Disassembled heater block, heater seems fine. Sensor is ok. Connectors are plugged in. PID has been tuned multiple times. Heating starts fine, then suddenly temperature drops (curve gradient is consistent with heater being off, despite it being at 100% duty cycle).

Is the ceramic heater to blame? I already have ordered a new one (70W 24V ceramic, flat) from another brand; will recrimp end connector once it's home, but I desire a second opinion
