After weeks of researching, I finally chose my diamond ✨

I spent way too much time comparing diamonds online before finally making a decision 😅

I looked at a few different retailers, read a ton of Reddit threads, watched comparison videos, and honestly got overwhelmed trying to balance quality, pricing, and trust.

What I mainly wanted was:

  • something that looked beautiful in natural lighting
  • strong specs without paying crazy markup
  • clear certification/photos/videos before buying
  • and a process that didn’t feel pushy

I eventually decided to go with Loose Grown Diamond after comparing prices and stone videos for a while, and this is the diamond I received. The sparkle in person honestly surprised me compared to what I expected from online videos.

The process overall was smoother than I expected. I was nervous ordering something this expensive online, but communication was good and I appreciated being able to compare multiple stones before choosing one.

Posting a quick video here because Reddit reviews helped me a lot during my search, so hopefully this helps someone else too.

Curious what everyone thinks of the stone/video quality 👀

not even gonna lie… buying this ring felt diff from the start.

went in just “looking” but then saw this 5ct from loose grown diamond and yeah… game over 😮‍🔥 the sparkle hit first, but what really got me was knowing it’s a smarter, conscious choice too 💎

Being able to choose the stone first made it feel personal fr… like I wasn’t just buying a ring, I was building my ring. picked the perfect size (7), kept the setting clean so the diamond does all the talking — no extra, just pure shine.

The whole process felt easy, no pressure vibes, just excitement. every step felt like “yeah this is it” 🫶

And when I finally saw it set?? omg… unreal. that shine, that presence… it literally felt like a moment, not just a purchase

def not just jewelry… this one means something.

Online purchase experience

Honestly really happy with how this whole process went.

I was pretty nervous about ordering an engagement ring online because it’s obviously a huge purchase and there are so many mixed reviews out there about buying diamonds online. I spent a lot of time comparing different companies and looking through Reddit before finally deciding to go with Loose Grown Diamond.

I looked at places like Brilliant Earth, Rare Carat, and some local jewelers, but what kept bringing me back was the pricing, customization options, and honestly how responsive their customer service was compared to everyone else.

From the beginning, communication was probably the biggest thing that stood out to me. Every question I had before ordering was answered quickly and thoroughly, and that continued through the entire process — before ordering, during production/shipping, and even after delivery.

When the ring arrived, it looked amazing in person and my wife absolutely loved it. One thing I appreciated was that there was something during the process that I originally thought looked a little larger/bigger than expected, and customer service handled it really well. They gave me multiple options and never made me feel stuck. They offered to have me send the ring back so they could correct it free of charge, or they were willing to reimburse me if I decided to have the adjustment done locally instead. That level of customer service honestly made me feel a lot more confident about buying online.

Overall, I had a genuinely good experience. If you’re someone who’s been nervous about ordering a ring online like I was, I can honestly say my experience ended up being much smoother than expected.

I cannot get over my new ring

been loving finding new jewellery related subreddits lol. thought i’d share here too. my husband just upgraded my ring for our 10th year, it’s a 2.14 carat lab diamond from rare carat, and it’s such a stunner

Finally got the diamond for the engagement ring!

Had to create an alt account because my sf knows my main, but I really wanted to share my experience, and hopefully it can help someone like how yall have helped me.

So ive been lurking around this subreddit for a few months now, and I finally got the confidence to take a chance and bought this diamond for my engagement ring recently from Loose Grown Diamond.

It is a 1.5ct D IF round brilliant cut H&A lab diamond. Its the first time I bought a diamond, so I really didnt know what to expect, but wow its just beautiful. The images honestly do not do it justice, its even more symmetrical seeing it in person. I brought it to a local jeweller to verify the diamond, IGI number and all, and I even got to see the hearts and arrows!

LGD price matched the diamond to Calavera's price with no fuss, and that really helped me save alot. Their customer service is very responsive, although there tends to be a 1 day delay in communication between their customer service and their NY office.

I live in Singapore, and getting a diamond shipped from overseas was really nerve wrecking, but it actually came considerably quick.
- I placed my order on April 7,
- Got notified that it has been shipped from their factory to their NY office on April 8,
- Got a video from their NY office of the diamond on April 16 (This part was slower than i expected, but I believe its because their factory isn't in the US?)
- Got the FedEx tracking number on April 18
- Received the diamond on April 24.

Oh something that I overlooked, but pretty obvious in hindsight, I got an invoice from fedex a few days later for the GST (which is 9%) and Duty Advancement Fee (was $20 for me, not sure if its a flat price), so should take that into account.

All in all, I spent about 1/3 of what it would have costed compared to buying a similar grade lab diamond, not even H&A, from a local Singapore jeweller, so I am truly happy with the diamond and LGD.

Hope this helps some people out there, and thanks to everyone on this subreddit for helping me out!
