Hi,
we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Westminster’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Famille vs. Kachina Southwestern Grill), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.

Here’s the iPhone version, with categories that actually fit Westminster’s food scene:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota-restaurant-ratings/id6744969212

And here’s the Android version (finally live):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app

P.S. I’m not from Westminster (I live in Gothenburg). I’m not collecting data, not selling anything, and the app does not use AI-generated content. I’m posting in a few different subreddits because we now support more regions, and I genuinely want honest feedback from people who actually know the area.

Injured Kitty Help 💔

My fiance and I found this little boy starved, injured (back left leg), and hardly responsive on our porch in the middle of this heatwave. 💔💔💔 we’re taking him to the vet for a quote on Monday, but we know we won’t be able to afford all of his vet bills. He’s very thin, his leg likely needs immediate medical attention, and he’s covered in flea bites. We’re currently keeping him in our bathroom in the AC and providing him with food, water, and some flea medication. If you’re interested in helping out, please reach out to me. We’re hoping he didn’t come to us too late.

What’s living in this area like?

Will I feel safe taking my kids to the grocery store/gas station/kids places? Where I live right now, I have to drive 30 min outside my radius if I have my kids with me because the shopping/activities don’t feel safe. We are moving to a sub in this red circle, and I know where I circled is mostly neighborhoods, I’m curious of the overall feel! Where would you go out and about and where would you avoid? Any input welcome

tyndal tree service just threw their garbage all over the neighborhood

This company threw these all over my neighborhood in people's yards. They Knocked on doors, ran off and put them at people's driveways in the grass or wherever. They left before I could answer the door. Their response online, not to me, is that ads are their 1st amendment and its not litter. Its litter. I have to pick this bs uo and out it in th trash. Screw these people

Just a quick plug for the City of Spartanburg summer soccer league

After more than a decade of sitting around like a lard, I decided to try to do some adult sports this summer.

I found out that the City of Spartanburg has a summer adult coed soccer league, so I signed up as a free agent. All the free agents were put on a team together, and we competed mostly against a bunch of corporate-style teams (like Siemens) or institution-organized teams (like the Woodson center). There were 8 teams in all.

Long story short, it was super fun! and cheap!

I had the best workout I've had in a decade, every single Tuesday.

Y'all should try it next year if you're into soccer (and they have basketball in the fall as well).

Lawn Mowing service recommendations?

I live on the east side of Spartanburg. Looking for a lawn mowing company who covers this area who is reasonably priced. Does anybody have any recommendations?

It's .21 acre with the back yard fenced in. Have a double door gate to access back yard.

Thank you in advance!

Need help in Spartanburg family member with PCOS

Need insulin syringes. Everywhere I went yesterday asked for a prescription. My 19 year old cousin is visiting from out of town and uses prescribed hormone medication. She didn’t think to bring extra syringes because she can usually buy them straight from the pharmacy where she lives. Does anyone know of a pharmacy or store because it is Sunday in the Spartanburg area that sells insulin syringes over the counter?

Hinge distance range for the upstate?

I'm M32 and I live in Spartanburg and I've got my distance set to 30 miles, and I'm not getting many matches. Just curious what you guys think is a normal distance range for the upstate?

I don't mind driving, but I don't wanna be driving hours and hours every time I take a girl out on a date.

Chuck Wright sentencing request for leniency

How do we feel about this request for leniency? I think he deserves the same amount of time as any of us would get.
