Ya'll, how are your backpacks selling?? I am located in a store in Canada and our backpacks are all priced at 120$-140$ ish plus tax and they just are not selling! Maybe one or two a week but at this rate September will come and 95% will go into O/S!
Is the price scaring customers away from purchasing? Because it's sure scaring me even with our discount!

I’m standing at the front of my store, hanging new clearance shirts on the rounder, when one of our ever-so-brilliant security guards comes into the store. He walks right up to me, shows me a maintenance permit request, and asks me if we submitted it. I looked at it, and fought back a laugh.
“No, because…we aren’t Hot Topic.”
He went beet red, covered his mouth, apologized and practically ran out of the store in embarrassment. It took every ounce of self control I had at that moment not to break down laughing in his face. I barely managed to hold it until he left the store…

This may be a stupid or odd question but do the Canadian stores sell the “What the F*** is a Kilometer” T-shirt? I mean in the American stores the joke lands better but I don’t know if it would still land the same in the CAN stores since they do use the metric system. I added the photo of the shirt for a better understanding of the shirt I’m talking about.

I’m so lost on how they calculate our budget each week. A couple weeks ago we were knocked down by 4 hours which meant associates getting under 8 hours and management cutting their hours. The week after that we were bumped back up 8 hours and there is a love Plano. Week after that back down 8 hours and we have floor moves and a tee Plano. So I’m just a bit confused on how they calculate this. Like they’re not giving enough hours for the associates to work 4 hour shifts, and not giving enough for management to have their required hours.
Like without anyone questioning.

Do you feel like communication is open and transparent? I currently work for a big cosmetic company and I'm expected to lie a lot and I struggle with that.
My manager is threatening performance notices if we clock in or leave less than five minutes than scheduled. Is this allowed?
