Found the dude on instagram making these for a buddy of his. I asked him if he ever sold them and he told me I was his first customer. He was super cool the entire time and made it for me wicked fast. Definitely hit him up if you’re looking to turn your old baseball cards into a nice wall piece.

Product suggestions to collect for son in next 18 years?

Want to start collecting sealed product to give to my son when he turns 18, figured it’d be a cool way to open players he’s been watching with me (I watch a lot of baseball, and assuming he gets into it).

My plan is to stick to one product, currently thing Topps Series 1 or Chrome? Any thoughts? I know there’s gonna be. Ganges in products over the years looking for a solid staple. Going to start with 2025

I got tired of card apps making up prices, so I built one that only uses real sales. It's free. Roast it.

I'm a solo developer and I've been building this because every scanning app I tried would tell me a card was worth some number that no human being has ever actually paid.
So I built Broad Street: Card Scanner. You scan a card - raw or slabbed, one at a time or a whole page of 9 - and it shows you what that card has actually been selling for.
Then you tap PSA 10, PSA 9, PSA 8 and see the graded prices next to the raw price, so "is this worth submitting?" takes about five seconds standing at your kitchen table.
The thing I care most about: the prices are from real sold sales, and the app refuses to fake it. If a card doesn't have enough sales history to honestly compute a 7-day change, it shows nothing instead of making up a percentage. l'a rather show you a blank than lie to you.
(Also, tap the card on its detail page - it flips over, and the back is a stat block of your copy. Collectors seem to like that one. And when you've scanned a stack, one tap exports the whole thing as a priced PDF binder sheet - total value at the top. There's a Market tab for the day's movers too.)
It's free. No subscription, no paywall. iOS only for now.
What I'm asking: scan your weirdest stuff. Junk wax Donruss, 90s inserts, obscure Bowman parallels, off-brand slabs, whatever. When it gets something wrong - and it will - comment or DM me the card. I report data errors upstream and they get fixed fast (last one was fixed same-day). You'd be making the tool better for everyone.
Link in comments. Be brutal, I can take it.

POP 1 🔥🔥

Football season is around the corner and I just got this back from my LCS. True gold /50. Pulled this myself about 4-5 months ago right when Topps chrome football came out. Amazing pull and a pop 1 on the psa 10 is awesome just checked the report today. Starting at 5k but definitely for sale! Would you hold this long term or keep it this season and hope he does well?

Shoutout to replay sports in Charlotte for making sure the card is clean and ready to be sent in.

What to do with your base duds?

Admittedly maybe a silly question… And maybe I already know the answer…

My son and I are new to ripping packs together. We are usually looking for Mets players and the usual suspects… Numbered cards, Judge, Ohtani… throwbacks of hall of famers Etc..

But I’m also overwhelmed with just hundreds of base cards for players I don’t really know… what the heck do I do with all of these cards? For now I just buy those white cardboard boxes and stow them away just in case one day we go back and shop through our own collection and find some surprises?

We have also on occasion, turned these base cards into goodie bag packs and presents for friends.

My fear is that I actually just don’t even know the players well enough and I will miss something special - a short print or an amazing player. One good example… The I other day I went through our stack of these cards that I had just put away and found a Murakami rookie card.

Anyway, would love to hear your
suggestions on how you stow away cards after ripping so many packs.

What do you do with base rookie cards?

I am starting off collecting/flipping with my son. We sell a bunch but looking to see what I should hold. For base rookies, do I hold or do I sell and what is advantage of holding

T-Mobile Park (Seattle) “Mystery cards” at the team store. Buyer beware!

Well, I certainly can’t prove it after buying just three cards for my son (he wanted them as a concession since I wasn’t going to buy him another box since he’s already ripped about 10 this season, plus I was a little curious myself ) I have the feeling that they are most likely taking the $70 complete set of 700 base cards and turning it into a $630 profit. (minus a few bucks for the cost of the cardboard envelopes). That’s if they even paid for the cards at all.

My buddy and his kid who went to the game with us also bought three as well with the same results. I feel like if these had low value common parallels that people overall would be happy with that and they would still make a solid profit. At the very least, any non-base card in every other one. I wouldn’t expect an auto, relic, or numbered card at all, but if they did include a low value
one of those every hundred cards or so I’d go so far as to say people would most likely be really happy with this idea/product.

I feel like people should be pissed off about this, and we should make some noise directed at the Seattle Mariners social media pages in hopes to get them to change up their strategy here. As it stands, this is a pretty crummy cash grab that is a big disappointment for any kid(or anyone else for that matter) that collects cards.

What are you guys think? Fair or foul?

Just Pulled from Costco Topps 75!

Apologies for the bad photo, literally just pulled this. Haven't been big on baseball for a while but had the urge to rip a few packs. Should I sit on it? grade it?
