So far, without knowing any news after the trailer, what from a pervious Spyro game do you hope returns in A Realm Beyond?
For me, Multiple elements and Cynder

Because Spyro is going to a “New World” and finding “New Allies” and Spyro basically being isolated there in one place in a open world game. It changed a lot for me about how this game might look like. Because it feels like a lot of the characters that could be there went down. As an example before the announcement Moneybags went from “Very Likely” down to “50/50” after the announcement. Because of this revelation.
The way side characters were implemented in Year of the Dragon, I don’t see any reason why they can’t be included. Whether they’ll be playable or not is a discussion (DLC?).
Spyro is notorious for getting help from friends and family, whatever species they are. This also gives Mr Moneybags an excuse to return with his ransom antics but I don’t think they’ll recycle something that specific.
Freeing/helping friends scattered around the world in danger and they’ll meet you at the boss fight sounds plausible and is a trick that never gets old though.
That's how I would design him. I love the red in his crest! Art was hand drawn by me, do not use, please credit me if you repost elsewhere, thank you!

This is my personal theory on the story and gameplay of Realm Beyond based solely on the trailer and the interview between Xbox Wire and ToysForBob Studio Head Paul Yan (https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2026/06/07/spyro-a-realm-beyond-reveal-xbox-games-showcase-2026/ )
Obviously I could be completely 100% wrong, but I have a good feeling about this theory.
First here's the points that I'm basing my theory around. The quotes are Paul Yan's words from the interview.
My prevailing theory: Toys for Bob is blending elements of all PS2 era games into one massive sequel to Reignited Trilogy, and they're hiding this behind claims that it's an "original" story with a "new" villain.
The story will essentially be a fusion of A Hero's Tale and Shadow Legacy with elements of the Legends Trilogy mixed in, all rewritten into one story as a direct sequel to the events of Reignited Trilogy. I have a very strong suspicion that Malefor and The Sorcerer will be fused into one overarching villain character, possibly with The Shadow Realm and the Aether fused into one concept as well alongside the Dark Crystals and Dark Gems also being interconnected. This 'new' villain as well as both Red and Cynder will be revealed in a story trailer as leading co-antagonists under Malefor's control. ALL of the characters from Reignited will be involved in the story in some way at some point.
This will make the story and main villain "new" while also being a massive love letter to long-term fans of all the previous games, and make one massive continuous story as opposed to how disconnected the previous sets of games were.
The gameplay will be open world exploration with locations that sprawl out to a full 3D space to incorporate the new flight mechanics, basically following the open design philosophy of the very first Spyro game but cranked up to 11 with Dawn of the Dragon style flight. Several sets of locations throughout Spyro's journey and the only thing keeping you from collecting every single thing from the start is your patience, thoroughness...and a Metroidvania-like progression system of unlocking Spyro's new flight and flame abilities. Yeah, I'm thinking elemental breaths will return with them and flight moves as the 'new skills' Spyro requires.
I know this sounds like I'm reaching a lot for fan service, but those shots of the Gem Staff and Paul Yan's comments sent me spiraling down this theory hole and I'm excited to see how wrong I am when we get the gameplay and story trailers for this game.
EDIT: I've now seen the Plot Synopsis video and the only thing it makes me second guess is the inclusion of reignited's other characters in the story. I can see Spyro's "journey to discover a way home" still revolving around this story based on the other previous games and the Scavs just being the reinvention of the Apes from Legends (since the Apes would probably be seen as problematic these days), but now I can see them also introducing other dragons like Ember and Flame to the story as the 'New Allies' he makes (potential co-op mode?).
I am so happy! I have been a Spyro fan for 28 years! The god damn heroes at Toys for Bob are bringing back the dragon that has brought all of us so much joy! Congratulations u/Electronic-Remove978 for yapping up the dumb alligator
Who are NPC's?
Non-player characters that aren't enemies. If it helps, there are some extra classifications.
What's the most Purpliest NPC in the original Spyro trilogy? Comment and Upvote below; the highest-Upvoted comment will be considered the winner.
Spyro fan for 27 years. (I was 2 when it came out, I know "fake fan")
So I have seen some posts and comments about the new Spyro design for A Realm Beyond that claim that Spyro has always been this ageless dragon in the first three games. It's just not true and kinda unintentially done by our new lord and saviors, Toys for Bob.
So after looking at all designs of spyro over the years. I realized that Toys for Bob used the same model across all three games in the Reignited Trilogy. Which is an absolutely wonderous model, don't get me wrong. But,,,,,
Insomniac "tried" to add subtle differences in his model between the games and make vague references to his age between games. His head, chest and wings become larger. Unfortunately though, he was then given to Paramount and Vivendi whom made what I will call "Ageless Box Art" Spyro (Because they gave him a permanent attitude face like the Box art) till they rebooted with the Legend trilogy. And then that trilogy allowed Spyro to age visibly.
The new design ages our boy a bit and he's wonderful. Nostalgia is one heck of a drug, just make sure you take the tinted glasses every once and awhile to see it with some clarity.
