Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas

Please avoid this ridiculously expensive resort unless you want to experience what appeared to be bed bug skin, a legit ROACH and some sort of bug that crawled from behind our headboard. Thank you for 7 nights ocean front club level and almost 16k for just the room. So disgusting and if the bug situation wasn't enough there's a chandelier that looks like it has never been cleaned.

My husband and I kept seeing bites all over ourselves and really just tried to brush it off because we were at a "Ritz-Carlton" nope..

appeared as though bed bug skeleton in our sheets and just nasty little things in our sheets.

We notified the management and were told we would get a LAB report of the incident

NOTHING has ever been sent. I have been psychologically nuts thinking we brought bugs home with us. What a nightmare!

Some claim adjustment person called telling us to put anti itch and see a doctor i've emailed her and NO ANSWER! Really

this is what 16k for 7 days rewards!

Absolutely ridiculous.. Such a waste..

Car rental question

I have heard people say to use local places rather than international chains because they are cheaper/better, but from the places I have looked at it seems the chains are way cheaper. Am I missing something, are the chains ok to rent from? The first picture is a chain, the second is a local company as an example.

Trip in July?

Hello! My gf has never been out of the us even thought st Thomas is still apart of it, i am tired of going to Myrtle beach! I have a chance to actually surprise my gf and go to sapphire beach for 6 days in July. What should I expect and how much money should I bring? Should I rent a car I know they drive on the opposite side but is it cheaper to get taxis? I just want to lay on the beach and snorkel and have her let go of the worries here at home. Any tips?

Cash? Credit cards?

My family and I are traveling to St Thomas for the first time in a few weeks. We are a family of 2 adults and 1 child.

I am wondering what to expect… How much cash is appropriate for 3 people for a week? Is it safe to use credit cards? Do most places accept credit cards? I am getting mixed information online and want to make sure we are overly prepared.

A few notes: we are renting a jeep for a week so no taxi trips. We plan to food shop the day of arrival to offset some of the dining costs.

Where to Stay

Hello!

My boyfriend and I are visiting for 6 days at the end of August/beginning of September. We still haven’t booked anything but got suggestions for Bluebeards Villa(?) and Limetree Resort. We don’t have much of an itinerary as this was a last minute decision 🤣 we really just want to eat good food and enjoy the beaches. We are not against renting a vehicle but really, really don’t want to.

Any suggestions would be appreciated! 💕
