Tired of getting overcharged in Nepal? We built an app to fix that (Beta – need your feedback!)

Hi Everyone,
we are bringing Price Before You Go, a community-powered mobile application that helps travelers, locals, and newcomers in Nepal discover fair prices for everyday services and goods. Users can instantly check what people actually paid for dal bhat, taxis, hotels, haircuts, and other services before making a purchase.

The app solves a critical problem: getting overcharged. Tourists and newcomers to Nepal face constant uncertainty about fair pricing, while locals want a trustworthy community resource. Price Before You Go fills this gap with transparent, crowdsourced price data.

  • 100% free
  • No account required
  • Community-powered (no admins adding prices)
  • Dark / Light Mode

Key Features:

  • Search real prices for any service in Nepal
  • See what people actually paid and if they felt it was fair
  • Report prices they paid to help others
  • Earn Credit points and badges for contributing
  • Compete on leaderboards
  • Plan budgets based on real community data

Currently we are in the beta stage of the application and allot of improvements is yet to be done. I am requesting all of the community people to download one and validate what do you think of this idea. I will try to reply to questions that you raise through this thread regarding this idea. If you have some suggestions that we can make to this, we are more than happy to take it and move forward.

"Know Before You Pay"

Check the real price for any service before you buy. See what locals and travelers actually paid. Never overpay again.
