So I finally decided to play Lethal difficulty, was having a pretty good run. And it was all thanks to Norm, he was probably my best character, my favorite character. He was there for my very first community and I thought it'd be fun to bring him with me. He's been around the block helping other communities I made and players I've met. I played as him probably longer than any of my other legacy characters.
So here's what happened, I had the game public so I could ask for help, because I've been struggling with the difficulty. Suddenly I had to use the bathroom and quickly turned off multiplayer and paused the game, or so I thought, Norm was alone and defenseless, he was getting attacked while I was busy. And I learned what happened though a damn achievement, I started freaking out and ran back to my room too see the character select screen. I was at a complete loss trying to understand what happened, but he was dead and there was nothing I could do. I actually started crying because it hurt so much that I got angry. I loaded up on a stockpile of guns, bombs, and consumables before heading to his body. I expected a hoard, a feral, even a juggernaut, but no... it was just one stupid zombie. One zombie took out my favorite character, my best friend within thisgame. I stood there watching it and Norm wander about for a bit before killing them both. (Norm's on the left and the zombie is on the right.) I wish I took pictures of him, I wish I double checked but there's nothing to do, he's gone and all I have left of him is this shitty achievement mocking me about his death.
TLDR: Lost an amazing legacy character due to a poorly timed bathroom break and negligence of not checking if the game was paused properly.
Undead Labs, the studio behind State of Decay, is facing potential closure. This matters because these games have meant so much to so many of us—not just as entertainment, but as a genuine escape during tough times.
I started a petition asking Microsoft and industry stakeholders to step in and keep the studio alive. State of Decay 3 is on the horizon, and the community is genuinely excited about it. Losing Undead Labs would mean losing not just the games we love, but the creative voices behind them.
If you've gotten something out of State of Decay or just think studios like this deserve a fighting chance, consider signing and sharing. Has this series meant something to you? What would it mean to lose it?
If I clear nests why do Hoards keep showing up on my door step!!!
Sorry for the bad picture quality.
Any ideas where the Bounty Broker might be...? Lol
I'm having so much fun playing this game right now.Trying to get ready for SOD3
Would it be a character with backpacking resourcefulness and sewing?
Is there anything else I can throw in there (with books or the community manager mod)?
Using the community manager mod I just wanna make a dude nickname mule that can carry everything!
I currently live in a remote area where there's no internet at all (I occasionally go into town). I was still quite young when Diablo 2 peaked in popularity, but I think I wouldn't be far off the mark if I called State of Decay 2 something similar.
Hello all, I was wondering if hydroponics is worth it before I try investing. Power, water, and utilities knowledge seems like a lot for one facility.
My base is the truckstop in drucker county and I don’t really have any plans on moving as my community has a mechanic/trucker theme going with it.
I plan to use the one outside small plot for a generator, then infirmary and workshop are a must, which leaves me with just one slot left. Should that be hydroponics?
I was just trying to get good traits but this came up They really adding secret updates😭
I just got notice that a community is in trouble bc zombie attack. I go in and all the guys are red as soon as I break down the door. Then they gang up and smash me dead. I have state of decay save editor running so I'll be okay but still, those sneaky bastards.
Working on a sheriff leader quest line / boon. Completed the first couple missions. We got a radio call that these bandits were moving in whether we liked it or not, and did the first mission which involved killing an enclave, and a radio message that “this is just the beginning” or something along those lines. Then five seconds later I get a mysterious broadcast radio call to check in on the “alleged perpetrators” (I assume this was the bad guys?). Head over, all dead by cross bow, and the killer refused to join my community.
Since then the sheriff quests haven’t progress, seems like I’m locked out. Should I change leaders and change back to get back to the storyline?
All things considered, absolutely hilarious situation. These baddies talking mad crap about taking over the town and instantly get eliminated by a serial killer.
I found two upgraded cars on lethal difficulty i heard this is pretty rare but I don’t know for sure
We could pass around a hat?
Is it frowned upon to ask for one here? I got one from someone a while back, but they've stopped working since then. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Added him to the community. Didn't realize why the name seemed familiar.
Looks like rumor is Microsoft might shut down undead labs if they can’t find a buyer because their new CEO says they spent too much money on acquisitions and not enough revenue.
Is anyone willing to gift me the havon device core?
So this description has me confused on how it works. What I think is supposed to be happening here is the ammo packs basically just large batteries filled with metal filament, that syncs up with the different weapons to tell it how to magnetically weld it into the appropriate projectile for that firearm. Possibly also meaning all CLEO guns are some form of gauss weapon.
But I'm not the most technologically knowledgeable guy and so could be completely misreading the explanation. And the question has actually been gnawing at me for months now. So can anyone properly explain this post-apocalyptic magic we can get our hands on?
