It's so obvious the way the show is moving that Annie is probably gonna end up with Ellis It's really not a love triangle she likes Ellis better objectively so why can't I get Rory outta my head?
He's so warm with her pleasant sweet respectable he's so nice and only downside is his mom and his friends but he consistently makes up for it.
I like Ellis too but I just don't feel that spark like I did when Rory and Annie were together am I alone on this?

I'm sorry, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills watching the characters romanticise her and fellow watchers do the same. I believe its because she's tied in to the aura of SP and she's, well...gone so it's easy for characters like Annie to take out their grief on Steven, the available parent. That's how it works in real life anyways.
Her actions would be correctively viewed as traumatising and abusive to her spouse if she was a man. Having a sterile spouse and having an affair with your teenage lover, then filing for divorce to have said affair's baby(to their knowledge) THEN trying to take their adopted kids from said spouse is villain behaviour sorry.
There's no reason: depression, stress, grief, even illness that suffices for the things she did. We reject those excuses when men make them irl so I don't see why they would count as excuses for Goldie. Also, I don't even blame Steven for withdrawing from Gordon and the rest of them. I can't imagine being expected to maintain a relationship with my spouse's affair baby and my ex parent in-law after the trauma of fertility issues, getting cheated on AND a custody battle, none of which were my fault. And before you say "if he had stayed around he would've found out Ramona was his" just know that if Goldie hadn't committed adultery in the first place everyone would've known Ramona was his. Also, how do you think the twins would have felt about her if he told them the truth? "Your mom cheated on me with her married ex-boyfriend and got a divorce and tried to take you to her childhood home away from me before she died?" What would that have served especially considering she was dead?? She died, they were adopted. That's what they needed to know at that point. Keep in mind they're still teens. There was still time to tell them and if anything he could have told them once they turned 18, things just didn't turn out the right way.
Also, I don't think Goldie is a bad person, per se. I'm just saying her actions were messy AND villainous. Her and Joe's actions were what led to the whole thing. She's lucky Steven framed her as insane and not an evil and selfish ghoul from the past . Steven's mistake is not getting much needed therapy for what SP's inhabitants put him through.
They both are perfectly good candidates for Annie.
The right partner or the right team is simply off personal taste.
I’ve rewatched the show so many times and neither boys are bad (I prefer Ellis) but that’s just me. I don’t typically go for guys who are too eager. Or perhaps they end up being in my life so intensely so fast. Like how many times Rory appeared in thin air so many times (some more helpful than others)
But I can’t help but shake the first time Annie and Rory ran into eachother.
As Oona took Annie away from Rory’s mother- I couldn’t help but notice how Rory was only. Focused. On. Annie. Like the way he followed her with his eyes was like oh?
Not bad just personal preference. I personally don’t like how Annie wasn’t really wanting to share that it was her birthday -
But when she said she’s “not a shots girl”(attempt at declining excessive hard liqueur ) Rory just said “I’m not a shots girl either) and for me that’s just a lousy vibe; good example of peer pressure tho.
If Annie truly enjoyed her decisions she wouldn’t have left without waking Rory. Hungover or not.
Ellis is more trustworthy in my preference because he allows for the woman (Annie) to do what she needs to do for herself. And lets Annie control the pace.

Here is my wild theory for where the series will go next season
It will show infant Oona with her mom who is a young teenager on the island. She meets Steven and Goldie and they talk about how cute Oona is and how sad they are they can’t have kids of their own. Weeks later, Oona’s mom discovers she’s pregnant and later finds out they are twins. She gives birth and directs the adoption agency to make sure Steven and Goldie have the chance to adopt the twins.
Therefore, Oona is the sister of Annie and Conner.
I’m just going to throw this out there…but Connor and Ramona should team up in terms of their careers. It’s already hinted that Connor is a genius and into coding and Ramona is already a fighter (though not a trained one).
Ok so, Steven has literally tried his best all his life. Been present with his kids, given them the best life and the best resources possible. Yet they're so ungrateful to him and Annie literally keeps having meltdowns and yelling at him? Poor thing even got punched in the face by that loser Joe. His wife cheated on him, he's had a really hard life and has no one to really fall back on.
For Connor, I feel he uses humour as a mechanism to mask how deeply sad he is? He's always joking around and no one takes him seriously when he tries to be vulnerable. He's as smart if not smarter than Annie but never gets credit for it, is portrayed as this spoiled child. Even when Annie found out about Ramona being Steven's daughter, it was Annie's reaction that was catered to, Connor continued to be ignored. I feel bad for him.
Man! After so long, I finally watched a genuinely, genuinely good show that just made me happy. Absolute fun and peace. This was SO good that I already can’t wait for Season 2.
The human connection, the mistakes we make in life, the love, the hate, the togetherness… everything about it was PERFECT.
And don’t even get me started on the love interests.... Romona and Oona, Ellie and Annie… dude. The REAL connection is Annie and Romona. They are meant to be with each other! Their connection is so pure that I genuinely don’t even have the words to describe it.
Also, I came across this whole “Team Rory” thing and… honestly, what even is Team Rory? Like dude, there is absolutely NO Team Rory. Just watch Annie with Ellis in the last two episodes. SHE IS IN LOVE. IN LOVE! Rory is a great guy, no doubt about that, but he is just not for Annie.
And not even for a second did I feel like there was a love triangle here, because I never saw Annie feeling anything close to LOVE for Rory. So I genuinely don’t understand what kind of show people are watching when they think Annie and Rory have a thing. NO. Watch it again, people.
Also LOVED Connor. And Ellis. And Denise… she is such a piece of work 😂 I really hope they bring her back for the next season!
Anddddd I really want Joe to be explored more. I don’t know why, but I just kept feeling like… I NEED MORE OF HIM. Although, I’m not denying that a huge part of that feeling comes from the fact that I’m a massive JDM fan. I just want him to use a wire-wrapped baseball bat for a few seconds here and there. 😂😭 Just kidding… mostly.
But seriously, man, I loved this show. Everything. Every character, every relationship, every little bit of it. It genuinely felt like there wasn’t even a single weak character.
And the songsssss! OMG! Every fucking song was PERFECTTTT! like I need the playlist rightt now!!!
And I am absolutely in love with Muskoka now. I want to go somewhere like that, live a life like that, make friends like those, and just… LIVE.

When Rory showed up at the cabin the morning after he and Lincoln crashed Ellis and Annie’s moment- he said that he was sorry , and that he will apologize to Ellis later, too.
Plot opportunity missed bc I would have loved to see how it would pan out between the two boys one on one.
but Rory’s apology for ruining her time with Ellis is “Can I do something nice for you”. I thought apologies were nice enough? And I think it’s a bit odd to steal the birthday girl away from the friends who wanted to celebrate with her and Connor seems a bit unnecessary⏳⏰ not to mention who leaves for the club while the sun is out?or setting. lol
Rory asks “Will you let me take you out tonight?”
Annie sighs when he asks her; then says “I don’t know”
looking left and right
and is trying to figure out how to respond
Rory instead of sitting and giving Annie more time to think it over says
“No need to invite the Jonas brothers if that’s why you’re saying no” (even though she never said no)
As a way to appear charming and clever.
Was this actually good for Annie ?
She responds with “okay😊”
Which I guess is another way to introduce the next plot opportunity of the club scene. I do have to consider that Ellis is probably working most of the time that Rory sweeps Annie off of her feet.
The next part of the episode actually is when Annie goes out to find Ellis, just like how Rory went to find Annie just a few moments earlier.
Annie of course talks about more traumatic revelations but at least Annie and Ellis got to romantically talk about a bald eagle together ? Hahaha I wanted to know if the bald eagle was scripted or if they legit saw one.
I think it shows how each character behaves in 1on1 moments and how that can affect the plot of both people. It ended up bringing her closer to Ellis because of how fast things happened with Rory. Annie clearly didn’t get to decide what got to happen that night and when.
I think Ellis matches Annie’s speech habits more ? Or this is just party Rory and we already know both Annie and Ellis don’t rlly do that- they both work/academia big time.
That’s all I just like rewatching it and really sinking into the micro expressions of some of the point pivoting moments. Thanks 🙏🏼
